Dimple and Mob 🔴🥦

Long time no post! I'll post some more stuff soon but to kick things back off, here's some fanart of Dimple and Mob from Mob Psycho 100. Recently finished it and loved it! Lots of great story and themes throughout and the animation is just incredible.

Overall I like this, though the lack of a bg in the sketch shows through into the finale's non-bg attempt 😅 something to plan for next time.

Planning to do more fanart as it's a great way to practice and appreciate the things I'm doing, so hopefully will be back with that sometime soon!

So proud of this immersive article I designed for Spoon University! I was inspired by vintage cookbooks and cocktail bars s from the 50s and 60s and wanted to create a fun and classy virtual ~club~ for all the home chefs preparing for Friendsgiving. Big shout out to @addiebusola for taking on a huge chunk of the food illustrations! She absolutely killed it.

I'm alive! Geez it's been almost 7 months since my last post, this year has MOVED. Things have been really busy but I'm starting to get back into making stuff for myself again. In honor of that, here's a self portrait! I haven't done one in a looong time and, since I recently did something with my hair for the first time in about 4 years, I wanted to give it a go! Still figuring out how to take care of it but I'm learning bit by bit and happy to be doing so (had a super informative consultation and trim with @honeecombsalon last week, learned a ton and can't recommend them enough!).

Also, on the topic of hair, go see Hair Love in theaters! It's a short by Matthew Cherry that's based on his and Vashti Harrison's book of the same name and is currently running before Angry Birds 2 at the moment. It's a wonderful watch and  I was very lucky to get to do a little bit of animation on it (a huge thank you to Vashti for that!). One of the coolest things I've gotten to do in my career!

Following up my last post, here's Françoise Dorléac also from The Young Girls of Rochefort! This started off as a warm up but I ended up bashing up against it a bit more, likeness is haaaard. I think this one is a bit more successful than the previous at least.

An attempt at Catherine Deneuve from The Young Girls of Rochefort! Absolutely love this movie, saw it a few years ago and it quickly became one of my favorites. Great style, songs, and it's got wonderful colors. Likeness is real tough and I don't think I really got the drawing looking like her in this but it was good practice!

Happy Saturday! This is a little bit of an older drawing, had forgotten I'd done it at some point towards the end of last year. I like how it came out though!

Next up is Tatsuya Nakadai, also from High and Low. Both he and Toshiro Mifune are in Yojimbo, which I also watched over the holidays (nice seeing that alongside Fistful of Dollars!); it was super interesting seeing them both in two movies set in different times and in such different roles, really fun contrast. Thought he was great in both!

Continuing with warm up drawings and movies, this is Toshiro Mifune from the movie High and Low. Saw it over the holidays and loved it, great tension throughout and also some incredible cinematography. Really happy with this drawing too, made a real effort to use photos as ref and to try to come up with a drawing that still looks like the person. Worked out pretty well this time I think!

Miles!! Been chipping away at this here and there for a little bit, had to do some fanart for Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. Absolutely loved it, one of my favorite movies in years. Yes though, happy with how this came out! I prefer the grayscale version (swipe for it!), need to do more things with color to improve on that stuff. Fun to make regardless!

Another warm up! Keeping with characters from the Fistful of Dollars trilogy, this is Gian Maria Volontè who played Roman in A Fistful of Dollars and El Indio in A Few Dollars More. He was a great villain in both movie, though I definitely preferred him in FAFDM.
