There’s seems to be something narcissistic about posting a selfie online these days. But to be totally transparent with you, I feel as if that could be said about posting anything in general.

For me at least, the content I create, I do so in the hopes it will be viewed and enjoyed. However there has to be a partial narcissistic element to what I do simply based of the idea that I think someone out there would want to actively look and enjoy my content.

Just a late night ramble. I dub this the “21st century creator’s dilemma”.

Sometime during the first few weeks of the semester, I was able to find the time to sneak out to explore Kinglake.

It was nearing 10pm when I decided to venture out and by the time I was close to my destination mist had begun settling on the roads. Visiblity was limted to about 2 meters ahead and it looked like something from a horror movie. Needless to say the thought of something popping from thin air ran though my mind countless times that night.

Come morning however it was a totally different situation, once the sun began to rise at 6am the whole area became a mixture of lush green and white. The air was pure and the landscape so scenic that it made me forget about the previous night.

Definitely a zen moment worth sharing.

Mornings spent exploring in the mist.

Some of the snaps from last weekend’s exploration of Kinglake west. The mist was so prevalent in the night and early morning that we could barely see 2 meters in front of us! The ledge we’re standing on overlooks Mason Falls, and although we could clearly hear the falls, there wasn’t a single drop of water to be seen.

Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls.

This photo was taken back in 2013 while visiting family up in Canada and the States. It was one of the very first photos I ever took so forgive me if it’s rather basic! So why the old photo...?

Unfortunately, my beloved nex-7 has decided it has had enough of this cruel world so I’ve succumb to posting up some older photos. Even with a daring open chassis operation I was unable to save it from becoming an expensive paperweight.

On the flipside, today I started my first day at a new internship at a modelling agency (ohhhh yeaaaaaah) and hopefully I’ll be able to save up enough to purchase my heart’s deepest desire, the fabled SONY A7RII.

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to document the progress of White Night’s Neon Laneway Exhibition. Words could not describe how awesome the whole experience was. As a photographer, I think one of the best things is getting out of your own world to document someone else’s. And that’s exactly what I got to do on Saturday. Although it was an awesome experience I don’t think I’ll be delving whole heartedly into the realm of street art photography, but it did give me some insight and a couple of nifty ideas that I’m really keen to push out in the near future, so stay tuned! All in all, as Ice Cube would put it, “It was a good day.”
