paper bag puppets (1999) - arden druce
ââYouâre not allowed to want me.â âIâm not planning on it.â I lied, I lied, couldnât you tell? I wanted you, the heat and flicker of your hands devouring me, the way every inch of my body seemed to melt when you pressed your lips between my shoulder blades. I wanted you, oh how desperately I wanted you. Boy made of fire, made of want that burned like a quickly dying flame. I would have donned wings and flown to you again for even the chance to feel you break me open. âYou canât fall in love.â âYouâre not my type.â I lied, again and again. I was enthralled with you, the way you tasted like summer days and one night stands. There was something so addictive about you, about the way your hands were rough tugging on my hair, my skin, nails digging moons and shooting stars into my flesh. I would have become a galaxy at your fingertips if you wanted me to. âYouâll have to leave eventually.â âOnly if you ask me to.â Iâve learned, since then, that it was never meant to be. Fate wrote our stories, threw us together as a warning: donât give up your life for the boy who burns so bright. But I would live this life again just to feel your gasp of breath like a warm wind on my neck. just to feel your fingers graze my hips. We were destined to collide and tear each other apart, destined to crash and sink and destroy ourselves. Or maybe that was just me, I canât remember. âI donât want you anymore.â âPlease donât do this.â Donât forget about me. For all the angels and stars that find their way to you, for the centuries to pass and lives to decay, donât forget about the boy who only wanted to kiss the sun one last time.â

âMiss me, sweetheart?â
(Henry and Alex are characters from the novel âRed, White, And Royal Blueâ by Casey McQuiston)
The Letters
They werenât expecting the letters.
It started out as mentions on Twitter, then emails, then actual, physical letters.
Letters from kids all around the world.
Letters from kids like them.
Happy letters, sad letters, short ones and long ones.
They werenât just letters, though. They were stories.
Stories of kids who came out years ago, and had finally found a family and a home.
Stories of kids who came out as soon as the news broke out, who gained the confidence to be true themselves because of what Henry and Alex had done, because of who THEY were.
Stories of kids who couldnât come out, for fear of what could happen. Stories of hope, that because of them, things might change.
Sometimes the letters had gifts. Paintings, drawings, handmade crafts, candy, the entire Star Wars box set.
They couldnât believe how much time and money people were willing to give them.
They couldnât comprehend how much they changed the lives of others by simply telling their truth.
They couldnât believe that they had actually done it.
They made history.
A/N: more word vomits you say? hereâs one I wrote a little while ago. I am also currently watching âlove, victorâ and crying during every episode. lemme know what you guyd think :))
For those of you looking for more lgbt+ Latinx/Latine representation after watching Love Victor, I have a few peices of media I have consumed to suggest (names are in bold, text related to it is all spoiler):
One day at a time (show, 1st 3 seasons are on Netflix)
One of the main characters is a lesbian (don't worry she goes through a process figuring it out) and she's an activist against a bunch of bad stuff as well! The show is not only funny, they also go through a lot of deep issues and they also have a conservative religious background that they handle well. They also discuss Latinx/Latine culture in the show which I felt was important because although it's good not to have a character whose entire personality is based on stereotypical culture, not including their culture at all is hurtful as well.
Red, white and royal blue (book):
A fun bi disaster from Texas who falls in love with his rival and discovers his sexuality! Bonus: his mom is president (I cry will we ever get a female USA president) but she's not Latinx/Latine, his dad is. Warning: there is some nsfw content in it
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (book):
This is a beautiful love story between 2 Latinx/Latine boys and it really goes through the nitty gritty of the journey of sexuality and self identity and it's just so beautiful ok!!!
Please feel free to add onto this list, not only will I love any recs but I'm sure other people would too!
Edit: It has been brought up that all of these and the other recommendations are Latinx/Latine American. If you know any just Latinx/Latine lgbt+ media, please suggest them in the replies or reblogs!
I was just minding my own business when I thought about the conversation between Pez and Henry in the New Year's Eve
Henry: Pez we need to leave now
Pez: I don't want to leave now, you go to the hotel or something
Henry: Pez, we need to leave the country n o w
Pez: Henry, we don't need to leave, it's not like you kissed the first son
Henry:
Pez:
Henry:
Pez: YOU DID WHAT?
I always knew I wanted to draw this as a split screen moment â each of their bodies creating the parentheses with their respective bedrooms bleeding into each other â but it was my talented friend @penpanoply who had the idea of hand-lettering the quotations from Alex & Henryâs emails into the bedsheets between them. So she did! Be sure to click to view the close up of her perfect handlettering and the gorgeous sheet patterns she created!
âHe rolls onto his side and listens, trails the back of his hand across the pillow next to him and imagines Henry lying opposite in his own bed, two parentheses enclosing 3,700 miles.â - Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Itâs always a pleasure to collaborate with you, Jeska. Thank you again for your hand in this picture. I love it so much. â€ïžđ

Coming out to President mom in Red, White & Royal Blue.
âhistory, huh? bet we could make someâ and âyou donât make it fucking easy. but iâm in love with youâ and âon purpose. i love him on purposeâ and âyour spine is a ridge iâd die climbingâ and âyou and me and history, remember?â and âyou love so much bigger than yourself, bigger than everything. i canât believe how lucky i am to witness it- to be the one who gets to have it, and so much of it, is beyond luck and feels like fateâ and âyou had the absolute audacity to love me back. can you believe it?â and âhave i told you lately that youâre brave?â and âhenry kisses his mouth over and over again and says quietly,  âyou are good.ââÂ
Here's a love poem I put together using only lines from gay books because they are THAT lyrical
