Here's my goal for today; what's yours?
Go ahead and read what I bracketed in my current read (The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey). So often we repeat what happened to us. We inflict the same pain on others that we know ourselves all too well. Parents yell at their children. Friends gossip about friends. Lovers cheat. People lie. And so it goes. If we are ever going to stop this cycle, we must remember how these things felt for us. If it hurt you, don't pass that hurt on. Love each other like you should love yourself!
Right? We'd never talk to people with physical illnesses the way we do people with mental illnesses. We didn't choose this. You can't decide what illness you get or don't get. Be kind to those you know who are suffering. Heck, be kind to everyone because you just never know what they might be going through!
Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week! I don't know about you, but this concept is hard for me sometimes. I want to justify every action, and make excuses for everything. But I don't get to decide how others feel about what I've said or done. Their feelings are just as valid as mine, and I need to recognize that. So remember going into the weekend that if you want people to take your feelings seriously, you have to do the same for them.
Just some food for thought this afternoon. Even if you aren't Christian or the slightest bit religious, you should still act, speak, and live with kindness and love towards yourself and others. Saying you are a good person and BEING one can be two totally different concepts.
Up on the blog today! Being pregnant is no picnic, but it has taught me more about loving my body than anything else! Check out the link in our bio to read all about it.
Do you guys follow @iisuperwomanii? You should if you don't; she posted this today and I feel like anyone and everyone who is around children needs to read this. Instead of raising kids to be tough and hard, why not raise them to change the world so they don't have to be?
I was 15. I was in school learning. Everything in my world was safe and secure until that morning. How could you forget? #911 #neverforget #alwaysremember
Spread this all over social media today (and everyday!). If you need help, please please contact this lifeline or someone you know and trust. You are needed here. You are loved. Keep going!
Just something to think about this Labor Day. I came up with a list of all the things I loved, and I was way way at the bottom. Loving God, my family, and my friends is great, but I also need to make sure to love myself too! Where would you fall on your own list?
I've seen this around insta for a while now. This is such a good reminder for all of us!
Truth? We think so! Our scars symbolize strength and growth and the will to carry on!
A reminder for yourself today. You, no matter what, are a miracle. No matter what mistakes, choices, decisions etc you have made...you are worthy of love, compassion, and friendship. So go out, you little miracle, and conquer today! Art done by my amazing friend Jessica!
This isn't a commercial for Oreos, but it is a call for some self- care this Sunday afternoon. I'm going to eat these with my jar full of milk and feel completely guilt free. Why? Because this is my form of self-care today and I deserve it! What does yours look like? Take a picture and tag us so we can see! We can always use some new ideas ;)
The only way to change your view of the world...is to change your view on the world! I woke up this morning dreading today, but then I looked up at this. Life is all about perspective. The sky this morning was beautiful. I woke up; I was safe; I'm alive. I changed my perspective. Need a better outlook on life today? Look up. Change your mind. You can do this! Happy Friday everyone!
Interested in the Whole 30 non-diet? Maggie gives some great insight on what it has done for her and her family on the blog today! #whole30
Why not spend your Saturday spreading kindness around? Even one small act can change someone's entire day. I challenge you all to one small random act of kindness today...happy Saturday!
