Hero of Time
also btw. if you start drawing and (physical limitations such as injury or illness aside) all your art is inexplicably feeling stiff or uninspired when you were fine before. the reason is not that youre suddenly just bad at art. its because youve just started drawing for the day/session. nobody wakes up and immediately starts sprinting around full speed to work out, theres a reason 'warmups' are a thing both in sports and art.
basically, dont quit just yet if your 'light jog' art isnt the same as your 'full sprint' art was yesterday. youll get back into it.
I lied I colored it. I think i made janine too short sorry HSSJSVSKD I was working off memory
My workplace recently had a thing about ‘do you know how many days we lose to stress related sick days? Here are some ways to manage stress’ and it’s things like ‘keep a gratitude journal’
But I don’t know - when I started work, many decades ago, it was expected you’d start at 9, finish at 5. You’d get your lunch break. You are expected to give about 70% of yourself the majority of your time. The last hour of each day and Friday afternoon were quiet times. There was time in the day to hang out with your coworkers for ten minutes talking about anything, not just work.
Now you’re expected to come in early and leave late and work through lunch. Give 100% all the time, more if you can push it. Don’t take leave. Work every second of every day as hard as you can push yourself. Do not waste time in the kitchen just chatting. Why aren’t you working harder?
And perhaps we’re burning out and take massive amounts of stress leave not because we’re not keeping a gratitude journal but because we are all being pushed to breaking point consistently, day after day, until we snap.
The older days weren’t perfect. But there was an understanding that work wasn’t life, and we could relax a little at work and still get paid enough to live. Now we are expected to give everything we’ve got, then give more, and not get paid enough to do something as simple as get a coffee after work. Even our hobbies are supposed to be monetised.
I blame Reagan and Thatcher but also blame every business leader since then who thought that pattern of work was in any way sustainable.
pick a tiny bird friend!
something SO self indulgent solely for the fact that James Ortiz is eligible for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance in PHM. Practical effects in movies are so so important to me, and I was SHOCKED to find out Rocky was a puppet and not completely CGI. Idk it just makes me so excited and happy when movies utilize puppetry and prosthetics and real, intricate sets and wire work and take the time to let artists create things by hand because that heart really comes across in the film. I really hope he gets it because that would be absolutely insane.
resurrecting my materials and myself ✍️ you wouldnt guess whats comin

i have excellent news about the manul cat
Manul cat is an automatic reblog from me.
I am porcupine.
Pretty much most cats that spend any time in trees, tbh
Honestly tho, in terms of lazy chill I don’t think anyone’s gonna beat this bear:

And let’s not forget the time an entire pride of ten lions decided to take a nap in a single tree
Yes these photos are real
>Manul cat is an automatic reblog from me. I can’t make it an automatic reblog, myself. It has to be done manul-aly.

The most beautiful spell ✨ My Witch Hat Atelier illustration for Crunchyroll! I've always been in love with the beautiful artwork of WHA, and Kamome Shirahama's masterful line work has been a huge inspiration for me! I did my best to recapture the grandeur and magic in this piece. Super excited for the finale next week!!

The Future, Somewhere Far Away From Here
Some dejointed drawings and doodles of my own post-canon headcanons! Where humans send a ship to their neighbors in order to meet them, and make sure their sun didnt die in case Rocky wasn't successful, but end up finding a very much alive Ryland Grace, looking younger than he should and living his best life on Erid
I'm just fascinated by the idea of humans and eridians collaborating and what that would look like. We are so advanced in some areas they lack, while they are so advanced in some areas where WE lack due to our respective biologies, the progress from both sides would be insane.
Of course, Eridians would also want to go to Earth, and is only fair they get a nice place to stay too. Maybe is then Grace decides to go back, to act as an ambassador for the Eridians, to see the place he worked so hard to keep alive. But i think eventually, after many years living on Earth (specially with the extended lifespan) he would want to go back, yeah the 2gs suck on his bones but he has more of a home on Erid than he ever did on Earth, anyway, there's people waiting for him there.
