3. A breathy demand: “Kiss me” - and what the other person does to respond.
The words were barely audible, a soft gasp, and they made Ruelle’s eyes fly away from the hallway she was spying into and to the heir’s face.It couldn’t be.
They were hidden in a dark corner of the Spring Library – away from prying eyes that weren’t supposed to know they’re there, bodies pressed together in the shadows, MC’s face hidden by Ruelle’s hood.
A brilliant blush spread over MC’s cheeks as if her brain was just now catching up to the words she said, and she averted her gaze, red up to the tips of her ears…
And only now Ruelle realized what exactly MC had said, and felt her cheeks warm too as her lips parted in surprise.
She took MC’s chin, turning her back to face her… but the heir didn’t look at her. Moments passed like this, with MC still unwilling to answer. For just the barest hint of a moment, Ruelle noticed MC’s eyes flickering over her lips… and almost immediately found herself inadvertently doing the same.
MC’s lips looked… soft. Beautiful. Warm… almost inviting. Just like they always did, and oh, how often had she imagined kissing them, holding her close, feeling her-
Ruelle whispered, both in hope to interrupt her thoughts and to find out if she heard those words right, an almost hopeful tone in her voice she couldn’t suppress, and finally, MC looked at her again, still flushed.
Ruelle swallowed, her hand wandering away from MC’s chin to instead cup her cheek, teasing smirk stealing back onto her face.
“Is that an order, your highness?”
MC’s eyes widened for a moment, until she slowly wrapped her arms around Ruelle’s body, making both of them aware once more of how close they were, and smirked back.
“Do you want it to be, your highness?”
Ruelle’s expression darkened.
“I told you to not call me that.”
Ruelle rolled her eyes, leaning in a little further, but smirked again.
She dragged her thumb over MC’s lower lip, feeling it’s softness against her skin, and bit her own.
“But… perhaps not. Perhaps I’d prefer to take the initiative.”
MC’s voice had this lovely, breathy undertone again as she leaned in as well, their lips inches from each other. And Ruelle found herself almost purring before doing exactly that, tilting her head ever so lightly, making their lips meet in a soft kiss. MC hummed in pleasure before kissing back just as softly, pulling Ruelle closer to her for a moment of utter bliss… before both of them pulled back, panting a little, eyes on each other.
Ruelle asked with a smirk, and MC wrapped her arm around her neck, smirkingback.
“I don’t know yet. Try again?”
And with a short chuckle, the Autumn Princess did exactly that.
