My leaving, us escaping That was just a dream. And Rosewood’s a place where dreams go to die? No. Not all of them.
“If you’re in bed next to me, I will take your hand. If you are not, I will go find you. I will spend the rest of my life, if I get that lucky, seeking you out. Not because I promised you or because you’re there. But because I will want to. I will want to be beside you. Every day. Forever.” “You will?” Vanessa tucked a strand of Joan’s hair behind her ear. “Every morning, I wake up and I think, ‘God, yes, her.’ ” Joan smiled and dried her tears. “If that can be enough for you,” Vanessa said, “it’s yours until the day I die.”

i hate that i’m becoming part of the Wicked discussion given how everyone has become inundated with ads for the movie lately and that their marketing team probably has a budget of infinite dollars, but it really is such a fascinating piece of media. i love a musical as much as the next guy but after doing a deep dive into the lore of wicked i don’t think ive ever been so intrigued with a musical’s themes as much as i have Wicked’s. not to mention it was written in the context of a pre-existing piece of media, which makes it a lot more difficult to create a narrative while sticking to the plot of the original. i also really enjoy the writing of elphaba/glinda’s relationship because i think it’s one of the more accurate depictions of queer-platonic-romances; at least from my experience with them. delving into topics like borderline-romantic queer friendships and how relationship labels don’t particularly matter (read: dan and phil) and things like compulsive heterosexuality isn’t something that often reaches into massively successful media and i think introducing these concepts for those who aren’t familiar through the use of a popular musical is really beautiful

sometimes your distress does indicate you should stop and respect your limitations. at other times it's more of a baby aquatic mammal being introduced to water for the first time thing. Too bad the difference is so hard to tell.

Kate: Oh no, you're giving him back.
Yelena: But Kate Bishop, he's so cute.
Kate: You didn't let me come home with the turtles we saved in South America.
Yelena: Because you thought they'd learn karate and live in the sewer after 18.
Kate: And what's the difference?
Yelena: The difference is that this little fellow here was being cruelly victimized by chemical experiments.
Kate:
Yelena: And I blew up the laboratory floor.

Yelena: What are you doing?
Kate: Researching guinea pig cages with slides.
