i wish i could capture the beauty of waking up on a sunday morning in my mid twenties, feeling the warmth of the sun shining in, my cat cuddled up next to me, and for a moment the world is still. the room is bright with a soft yellow glow that feels as if it’s embracing me, just for a fleeting moment i’m at peace with life.

That night she stared at herself in the mirror picking out every little flaw wondering if she’d ever be perfect. Her eyes wandered across every inch of her reflection as her mind pointed out every flaw.

She looked herself in the eyes and saw her reflection, a sad lonely face wishing only for love and acceptance.

“The world is a cruel place.” She said to herself justifying her endless self hatred.

I wonder if there's any cure for this deep rooted melancholy, if I will ever feel whole, if the ache would never leave me; if my mind would ever truly free me and let me enjoy the now—this moment, this time, this space & leave tomorrow where it belongs but my head spins like a top, dragging me into a whirlpool of uncertainty, of the unknown...just dragging me into an endless chasm.

My biggest fear is that one day I’m going to wake up and realize that my whole life passed me by and I am not anywhere close to the person I want to be.

i made this post over 4 years ago and i feel like nothing has changed. i’m the same person who i was only a little older and a little more confused.

over the course of these past four years i’ve graduated high school and started college, i discovered new things about my sexuality, i’ve been thrown around and treated like nothing more than a game. i’ve gotten better and i’ve gotten worse. i made new friends and lost some old ones, i met people who have showed me I’m not worthless and people who couldn’t care less about me. but still deep inside I’m the same 16 year old girl who wrote this post scared i’m going to wake up in another four years feeling like i’ve accomplished nothing.

she stood there as the minutes passed and wondered if you’d ever come back, even though her mind wandered she stood tall hoping that one day you’d come back.

but you never did...

It’s scary because I don’t remember when I first started to hate myself or my body,

I guess it happened slowly until one day I looked back and I couldn’t remember a time when I felt happy in my own skin.

I look back at the old pictures and I can’t stop myself from wondering, “Did you ever really love me?”

But I don’t think I want the answer. Either way, your gone and you left me alone.
