i feel like this..might be kind of a dumb question and maybe you aren’t sure either lol but! i love the way you draw wings n stuff theyre so cool!! i have a winged oc that i want to have wear some sort of long coat or maybe a cloak? but..wings..

HI YES I AM ACTUALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS TOPIC!!!

It depends a little on what kind of wings someone has, but I think this can be solved fairly easily with zippers:

Feathered wings are just a little bigger than arms under all the fluff, so they would be able to fit through relatively small openings, so you would just have to slide in ur arms first, and then drape the back and sides of the coat over ur wings, and zip them up from the bottom :3 For ocs who already have a fluffy back that would probably be uncomfortable if pressed down, it could just be a single opening with one of the zippers going all the way down and the other partway so you wouldnt lose that scrap of cloth

for leathery wings, since the membrane would (logically, at least) have to go a ways down the back, a solution like that isnt rly possible so that's why I am a big advocate for:

PRACTICAL-USE WING GAUGES that's right every body if you have big wings simply punch some holes through them so you can slip belts, backpacks, coats, and other contraptions around your body without worrying abt ur wings being in the way

the way this specific one would work is a belt goes through the wing holes, and ties the back piece neatly in place. the bottom part would have to be split into 3 pieces to allow for mobility because using zippers would definitely get in the way imo (but other ppl with more of a concept of fashion than me could do a better job)
