I want to post this here, about 2 or 3 years ago (maybe?) I wrote an entire essay about Chairman Rose. A lot of the wording is kinda childish sounding or youthful sounding, but thats because I wrote this when I was 17 or 16.
The improvised shitty essay;
"I HATE CHAIRMAN ROSE >:(( HES A POORLY WRITTEN VILLAIN"
"Chairman Rose is the worst Pokémon Villain in the entire series"
"I love Chairman Rose he kinna"
I love Chairman Rose too! not because he's a villain, but thay plays into it.
I love him because he's another case of "Lysandre".
He saw a crisis for his region and he wanted to prevent it regardless that it was 1,000 years in the future.
He overthought about this issue for years, trying and working so hard to form a plan to save Galars crisis in the future.
Which during so he endorsed multiple children to be gym leaders, Leon, Bede, probably countless others when he was Chairman.
Yes he used Leon somewhat to cover up his own actions so Galar would be blinded by the "10 year lasting undefeated Champion", the "Face of many companies" so that Galar would not know what his company was doing. As how they planned to stop this crisis was frowned upon, unethical, unconstitutional. He only ever told Leon Oleana, He told Leon because he needed him to understand what he was trying to do, what he was going to end up looping him into. As his boss, and also as his friend, his superior, and most definitely a paternal figure in Leon's life he never had before. Regardless of Leon's protests, saying how he only wanted to go through with the galarian championship events and that Rose's "Darkest day" to prevent the crisis can wait a little longer, Rose didn't understand
he doesn't understand why Leon and everyone else can't see what he's trying to do.
He ignores Leon's wishes, yes, he goes through with the darkest day, forcing Leon to abandon the championship and aid him in catching the sentient, "dead-man-walking" creature he was using to prevent the crisis.
But Leon didn't catch it, Leon nearly died from the creature, he was attacked.
It took Rose this long to realize, To realize he had done wrong.
and Unlike Maxie and Archie, Rose didn't reform, he didn't try to get away with a slap on the wrist with community service.
No, he turned himself in, he turned himself in so the people of Galar knew he knew what he did was wrong, he had accomplished what he set out to do anyway, he prevented the crisis.
But in the process he lost his status, his job, his friend, his champion, Bede, his gym leaders.
He lost it all and was reduced to a mere felon, a criminal.
that's why I like Chairman rose.
I like him because he overthinks, he wanted what was best for his region no matter the cost, even if the cost was his entire life as he knew it, and in the end he succeded.

In the anime, in his League Cards, in the Manga
He's an orphan, he has a younger brother who kept being compared to him that his younger brother ran away, heart full of spite an anger at him for stuff he never did.
When Rose ascended to chairman of the Gym League. The same brother who had been the leagues former champion and current steel gym type leader
resigned, he resigned and disappeared off the face of the earth to avoid and ignore his older brother, all because he kept being compared, compared, compared. Compared to his "Genius older brother Rose"
but that wasn't Rose's fault.
Rose has a hard time conveying his thoughts to words, Rose is very good with children,He's a good business man.
But all his plans, if he conveyed them *differently* he wouldn't be a villain.

I think I should honestly rewrite it, I still view him the same way but my tone in this just sounds like im naive and insane over this man.
