Shego had been tanning on the beach as per usual with her branded swimwear and long island sitting next to her. Though to her displeasure her relaxation was disupted by a smack to the face from a vollyball. When the kid approached to retreive his ball Shego squashed it before his very eyes then returned to her sunbathing position. 

Charles had planned a little trip to the beach with Dory, and for some reason had invited Shego along with them. He hadn’t seen her since their last conversation, which ended with Shego just yelling at him, and him taking it all in. When the beach ball was squashed, he looked over to the girl. “You shouldn’t have done that...” He murmured. “But, I am rather glad you did.”

“Oh, bonjour!” Danielle said with a grin, a lollipop in her hand. “I do love the sweets here. I cannot seem to help myself and always end up with more than just coffee. I’m afraid I have a little bit of an addiction.”

“If you eat to much of that, you’ll rot your teeth out.” Charles said not looking up from the papers that sat on his desk.

“Well um…you know how curiousity killed the fish Charles. But you left and I was still under the spelll so…” She didn’t mean to make it sound like she was placing any blame on him. She wasn’t. There was just no other way to explain without using more rude words. Immediately feeling awful from the things she had no control over during the curse. 

Shaking his head, Charles sort of realized he didn’t really want to know. It’d only make him upset, and in turn that would do something to Dory eventually. “Let’s not worry about it then.” He murmured. Looking down at her, he ran his hand up and down her back. “You okay, kelpcake?”

She gave a light giggle letting him run out of words. It certainly was easy to tease Charles, like when she told him she stole a turtle from the zoo, which she entirely wanted to do but didn’t. “I’m only kidding Charles.” she shook her head giving him a kiss on the cheek. Waiting for him to calm down before continuing. “After the past two weeks I don’t think I’ll want to for awhile.” 

Charles frankly didn’t want to think about the past two weeks anymore then she did, but his curiosity about what she did remember got the better of him. “So, I am curious. What all did you get up to these past few weeks?”

Meet Belinda Worthington. She’s 23 years old and kind of looks like Emilia Clarke. She is the daughter of Dory and Charles Worthington. She’s a third year.

Belinda has been working tirelessly on her journalism degree. She wants to end up working for the New York Times as a front page writer. Then eventually take over as a lead editor. 

Unlike her brother and her mother, she isn’t as big a fan of water. Belinda swears she gets it from her father. Though she will enjoy a dip every now and again, she’s not big on surfing. 

Belinda loves to read. There is one whole wall in her room at home, that from floor to ceiling is filled with books. There is only one shelf, that she hasn’t read yet. 

Connections:

Luke Worthington (Brother): Though she has a strange way of showing it, she loves her brother Luke. They get on like a house on fire and their antics are sure to put their father into an early grave. 

Lizzie Porter (Close friend): The two met in an English class one semester and have been good friends ever since. Their mutual love for English and writing have made their bond strong. 

Nikolai Romanova (Friend/Crush): The friendship these too have is strange. It often involves Belinda interviewing him for the school paper. Or Using his tough facade to get others to agree to an interview. 

Regina Termaine (Best Friend) : It was Regina’s idea that Belinda join the paper. And she will forever be greatful for that. These two are closer than two friend should be. Though she loves her brother, Belinda always wished Regina was her sister. 

Nick Schwartz (Friend): Belinda and Nick became good friends rather quickly. More times then she’d care to admit, she has asked to interview him for the paper. She will forever cherish him for actually going along with it.

She gave a sigh of relief when he smiled at her and planted her a kiss. It was the Charles she lived for, the one that took her in when she was just eighteen. The one that had changed between them now, was her. She was wiser now, taking on her father’s advice of finding herself now. Dory moved herself up the bed so Charles would no longer have to crane his neck, leaving her face inches from his. “Yeah? Because I can think of a few other places in the house we can christen if you don’t mind. Is that how you say it christen?” 

Well, he certainly wasn’t expecting that to happen. “Dory, I uh, yes that is the right word but, I think we’re going to have to hold off on that for a little while. Alright?” This was weird, and probably wrong on a lot of levels. But, they were both consenting adults, so why shouldn’t they? Charles knew it would take him a little bit to get used to the idea that something had happened and was going to happen with Dory. “Look, we skipped a bunch of steps in all this, so we sorta need to back track and take baby steps, alright?”

Dory gently sturred at his words, but did not get up. Instead she just watched as he spoke, careful not to interrupt. When she began to speek she laid still with her cheek on his chest and arm around his waist, not sure if she should look up at him at her next words. “Sometimes…before the curse, I thought of what it might be like. You and I.” she huffed and then looked up at him. “My only regret was that it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the curse.” If it wasn’t for the curse, Dory realized, she wouldn’t have become the woman she is today.

Letting out a breath, he didn’t know he was holding, Charles chuckled lightly. So he wasn’t the only one who had thought about it. Careful not to pull the IV from his hand, he carefully started to run his fingers through her hair. As she spoke, Charles wanted to contest her words. Wanted to say that it may have happened. But, he knew she was right. If it hadn’t been for that, they wouldn’t be here. Craning his neck to look down at her, Charles gave her a genuine smile. “Well, thank god for that curse then.” He murmured before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

“You’ve always been so mysterious. I’ll never be mysterious.” A light smile appeared across her face but nothing that stayed for long. Her heart was far too broken from rescent events to smile when Charles was being distant. Normally she’d shake it off and start cleaning the house but not today. Not like this. “I have to worry. You are my home Charles.” Dory made herself comfortable by laying inbetween his arm and chest, saying she wasn’t about to go anywhere.

Humming softly when she rested her head on his chest, Charles gratefully took the attention. If he thought about it long enough, he could imagine that they were back in their home. Sitting on the couch, Dory falling asleep as he read through papers. “You are my home, Dory.” He repeated her statement, because it was true. There wasn’t a home in his mind if Dory wasn’t there. “Dory...” Charles started. “...those things we did together? We shouldn’t have done them.” Biting at his lip, he sighed. “But, I don’t regret it.”
