Custom Fender Strat pick-guard. It was supplied as a drilled and shaped blank. The features that needed adding were the angled pick-up and switch-plate cutaways, the positions of which were roughly sketched by my customer onto a piece of acetate which I then scanned and translated onto a scan of the actual pick-guard that I'd be cutting. I used a couple of features from the pick-guard (ie. the bridge cutaway and the top straight of the neck heel cutaway) to help me register it on the router bed. I cut it from the back, as this helps to ensure a cleaner cut and minimises the chances of the cutter tearing off the protective layer of acrylic from the front. The slight fraying you may see on the cut line is this acrylic film which has been pulled, stretched and then torn a miniscule amount by the cutter - once it's peeled away the cut line is sharp and crisp. Sure, I maybe go a bit overboard holding the work down, but it saves using double-sided and if experience has taught me anything... Same goes for the 2mm diameter light cuts with an allowance for finishing. Note how on the silhouette the switch-plate is slightly asymmetric - rather than cut an oversize hole for it, I use the switch-plate's actual dimensions and creep up on them until I get a perfect push fit - it'll only fit one way, no gaps. Details.
A few more bits and pieces I made for the Super 7 - riser blocks, height adjustment flange nuts (to correct for warp in the bed) and a custom flat spanner for the nuts.
