When you first became the social media manager for the Thorns roarball team, you were so excited. Finally, a chance to put that degree to use!
Your excitement quickly fell, however, when you realized you wouldn't exactly be posting a lot of the team.
You mainly just posted about Jett. And only Jett. Her stats, her highlights, her interviews, everything was all about Jett. Very rarely, you managed to squeeze in a post that included the whole team.
Like Dennis, for a long time, you rarely got to do your actual job, because Jett would just take it over. She insisted she knew her way around social media (she didn't), and she would literally snatch your phone or laptop away from you while you were working to make sure you were doing it right. Even if you stood up for herself, she'd just hiss at you until you backed down.
Sure, you were there, but were you really? The whole team tended to forget you existed because of all this.
Modo never forgot about you.
He had his eye on you since day one. Modo is a lover of aesthetics, of visuals, and whatever you had going on, he absolutely adored it.
You've had to confiscate his phone before several times because he simply has no filter about what he posts, and you don't want the fans getting any freakier the comments that you have to moderate.
At one point, you simply changed all his passwords and wouldn't tell him what the new ones were.
In exchange, he's eaten both your phone and your laptop several times. The team has often caught you elbow deep in his maw just trying to retrieve your stuff.
Modo encourages you often to be creative with what you post, no matter what Jett says.
"Don't let her control you!"
Easier said than done, but you appreciated the sentiment all the same.
He asks you out via DMs, because that's basically the only way to get your attention when you're waist deep in your work.
You were a bit hesitant, but after some persistence on his end, you agreed to a date.
Once you two are together, he is all over you affection-wise. He's a very physically affectionate person, and is practically slumped all over you every moment you're together.
He insists you name his egg, which he now deems is your child.
He's constantly pulling you into little celebration dances. Doesn't matter if you can dance or if you have two left feet, he'll teach you!! Celebrating what exactly? Could be anything. A post going viral, them winning a game, or just the fact that he loves you a lot!
Modo sends you a lot of thirst trap edits the fans make of him, and asks you to rate them on a scale of "10 to 100". Because obviously he'd never be less than a 10. He's an icon, after all.
You tried your best to keep your relationship private, because if anyone knew how rabid the fans could get, it was you, but... well, Modo's not exactly a private person.
When you're sucked in your phone in a work spiral or simply just overthinking social media, he'll rip it from your hands with his tail and say "it's detox time!" which means you're not getting that phone back for the rest of the day, no matter how hard you try.
Detox time includes him teaching you how to meditate, dancing practice, staring at clouds together, or him just yapping your ear off about whatever you'd like.
His tail is always finding a way to curl around you. It's a way to keep you close to him.
I wouldn't call Modo jealous or possessive, I doubt he feels those emotions when it comes to you, but he can be rather territorial, in the most animalistic sense. He gets the ick whenever other animals touch you, makes him feel weird. He also won't stand for his fans being weird about him dating, he will go on a blocking spree if comments start insulting you.
You try not to let the fact that you're dating one of the players effect your job too much, but you will occasionally find yourself posting more videos and photos of Modo compared to the other team members.
He takes it as a compliment, and the other Thorns just tease you about it, they're not actually mad about it whenever you do it.
He will talk about you loud and proud during interviews, and constantly brings up what good work you do and how creative you are.
He will absolutely get a tattoo in your honor. Or, even better and if you're a tattoo type of person, matching tattoos!!
