Y/n let his eyes follow Soap’s pacing figure as he practically stalked around the common room, obviously restless.
His clawed hand came up, scratching at the skin around his collar.
Price had argued against it, but the higher ups had insisted on the kaiju wearing some kind of “fail safe” of sorts, should he go rouge.
So they settled on a shock collar, much to the displeasure of the task force.
Price had been badgering Laswell to get the order revoked, and the human female was doing her best, but Y/n wasn’t going to complain.
This was a massive upgrade to what he was used to.
“Is it like this for every werewolf?”
Soap’s eyes honed in on the Kaiju, zoning back in to process his question.
His eyes were a much more vibrant shade of blue, atleast they seemed to Y/n.
The werewolf flopped onto the couch with a huff, the cushion dipping and making him accidentally lean closer to the warm body beside him.
Allegedly.
“It’s different for every wolf, but they all experience atleast something similar on full moons.” Soap shrugged, tail flicking back and forth.
Seemed like at least one part of his body insisted on being active.
“Do kaiju’s get anything like that?”
Y/n clicked his tongue, leaning his head back in thought.
He’d only ever met one other Kaiju in his life cycle, and she’d seemed nothing but perfectly calm and capable at any given moment.
“Not that I know of, nothing like this though.” He mused, nodding to Soap’s twitching. “There’s no set time for it, at the very least.”
Soap mulled over his words before his thoughts were cut off.
“How do you cope?”
His eyes flickered back to the kaiju, eyes locking on to the intense e/c hues.
He was honestly shocked, and quite pleased, at how much he was putting into the conversation.
“Depends, sometimes I’m just put in quarantine, most of the time guys come in and help me blow off some steam.”
He caught the way Y/n stopped, giving him a look out of the corner of his eye.
In his defense, coming out of Soap, you just never knew.
“Not like that.” The werewolf huffed, swatting at the larger hybrids arm, before giving him a grin. “But if you wanna…~”
“Down boy.” Y/n snorted, shrugging the wolf off him.
Soap barked out a laugh, tossing his head back, tail speeding up.
“We’ll see~”

Y/n stood behind Ghost, watch over the wraiths shoulder through the one way glass into the padded training room.
Soap’s wolf prowled around, occasionally lunging at the few training dummies that had been left inside.
“Shouldn’t he have calmed down by now?” Gaz mused, leaning against one of the walls of the viewing room with his arms folded over his chest.
Price sighed, scratching his beard with a nod.
“Doesn’t normally take him this long. I’d say we go down, but he’s more mouthy than usual.”
“I can do it.”
All eyes turned onto the Kaiju, mostly out of surprise that he’d even spoken up at all.
“You sure? You’ve not gone through…” There was a loud rip as Soap tore the head off a dummy. “…this.”
Y/n shrugged, his heavy tail scraping the concrete floor behind him.
“My skins impenetrable, atleast to anything he can do, even like this.” He motioned to the wolf still throwing a fit below them.
Price mulled over it for a moment before reluctantly giving in.
“Fine, but if he gets to wild I’m pulling you out.”
Y/n made his way out of the viewing room and down towards the training room door.
Soap had honed in on him the second he’d heard the door click, posture ridged and ears forward.
His tail was wagging, and Y/n would have taken that as good sign, had he not immediately come barreling towards him.
Y/n braced, catching the wolf on his shoulder and stopping him in his tracks.
He heard the snapping of jaws, but even in the places they were able to connect, they couldn’t break the Kaiju’s skin.
Y/n managed to get his arms around the werewolf’s neck, trapping him in a headlock and dragging them both to the floor.
Soap’s tongue lolled out as they wrestled, blue eyes widening as Y/n’s arm came within reach, lunging for the exposed limb.
The s/c skin immediately changed black as it hardened protectively, the werewolves ivory teeth bouncing off uselessly.
Soap broke away, eyes wide as he stared, as if offended, at the slowly fading color of Y/n’s arm.
He huffed, curiosity seemingly taking over whatever fight he had left as he padded closer, sniffing at the skin of the arm.
The kaiju offered the arm to him for a closer look, happy to do this instead of wrestle.
Soap gave the skin a tentative lick, eyeing Y/n’s face before taking the arm back into his mouth and biting down again, softer this time.
Once again, the skin changed color, hardening where the teeth pressed.
He let out a rumble, the brown canine clearly unsure what to make of his new discovery.
The door to the room opened again, the rest of the force making their way in, but Soap hardly looked up from Y/n’s arm.

“Got any threes?”
“Go fish.”
Gaz groaned, drawing a card from the pile, giving Y/n a skeptical look.
“You’re cheating.”
“Who cheats at ‘Go Fish’?”
His wings fluffed, almost hitting Price who was sitting behind him, watching over his shoulder.
Ghost was doing to the same to Y/n, leaning closer to peer over his cards.
“Nope, he’s got a clear conscience.”
Y/n gave a pleased hum, shifting a bit as Soap moved his tail once more.
The wolf was splayed out behind the group, the Kaiju’s black, scaled tail held between his two front paws as he gnawed on the end.
Y/n could hardly feel the pressure, and besides the wolf drool, there was no evidence of anything out of the ordinary when the wolf would pull back to look at his work.
“Got any fours?”
Gaz grumbled, but passed the card to Y/n who added the pair to his ever growing collection.
“Yer getting obliterated.” Price chuckled, dodging a wing slap from Gaz.
“I know that!”
The outburst drew Soap’s attention, the werewolf now keen on being apart of the circle.
Y/n felt his tail drop, looking back only to see the quickly approaching wall of fur and muscle.
Neither Y/n nor Ghost stood a chance as the werewolf came crashing down onto the them, pinning the two under his massive weight.
“Get off, ya mutt.” The wraith hissed, fighting to free atleast one of his limbs, shadows pulling and pushing on the canine to try and will him to move with no such luck.
Y/n groan as the air was forced out of his lungs, dodging playful licks to the face as best as he could.
The cards were scattered everywhere, Price and Gaz blinking in surprise at the turn.
“Does this mean I win?”
Soap whipped his head around, tongue lolling, giving Y/n a chance to catch his breath.
Soap reached out with a massive paw, hooking it around Gaz. Price, who’d been sitting to close, getting dragged in along with him in a mass of tangled wings and thrashing tails.
Price grunted, getting tucked right next to Y/n beneath the mass of fur.
“Come here often?”
Price rolled his eyes playfully at that, swatting the e/c eyed male with his tail.
“More often than not.”
“So this is normal?” Y/n nodded up at Soap, who was now giving Gaz the same treatment he’d give Y/n moments before.
“Eh, something along the lines of it. Never seen this before.” He mused, using his one free arm to gesture to the dog pile they were trapped in.
Y/n puffed before settling back, as if accepting his fate, and Price followed suite, head flopping back against the padded floor.
The dragon felt the scraping of other scales against his tail, finding that his tail had instinctively wrapped itself with the thicker tail of the Kaiju beside him.
He was about to apologize, to move his rouge appendage, when he felt the other’s tail tighten around his in return.
No words were said, they didn’t need to be, Price was already turning a pretty shade of pink.

Sorry if the ending felt a bit abrupt, I wanted to end on something fluffy but obviously nothing romantic has been established in this story line and I didn’t want to have them acting to out of character.

Price’s tail flicked idly, his eyes narrowing as he sat across from Laswell. She slid a folder onto the table in front of him, its edges slightly worn.
“What’s wrong with this one?” He grunted, reaching for it, his claws grazing the paper as he flipped it open.
Laswell exhaled sharply, rolling her eyes in exasperation. “There’s nothing wrong with him, John. It’s just... getting more dangerous out there. With you sidelined from most of these missions, I figured you could use a heavy hitter.”
“Half of this is redacted,” Price muttered, flipping to a new page, his sharp eyes scanning the censored text.
Laswell leaned back in her chair, her arms crossed. “He’s a special case,” she said slowly, choosing her words carefully.
Price glanced up, his gaze fixed on a striking photograph of the new recruit. A man — or what seemed to be a man, though something about him felt different. A pair of piercing e/c eyes stared back at him from the image, their intensity almost unnerving.
“Shit…” Price muttered under his breath, feeling as if those eyes were staring straight through him, into something deeper.
Laswell’s voice cut through his thoughts. “You don’t come across beings like him often. The higher-ups like to keep him under lock and key, for... reasons.”
Price shut the folder with a snap, feeling a cold unease settle in his gut. “What is he?” His voice dropped low, his tone skeptical.
Laswell met his gaze evenly.
“Kaiju.”

The courtyard was silent for a moment, the distant sound of approaching vehicles stirring the air.
Soon, the unmistakable hum of an armored truck filled the space as it rumbled into the compound, kicking up a small cloud of dust behind it.
Two heavily armed guards emerged, their tactical gear glinting in the midday sun.
"Bloody hell," Ghost muttered under his breath, watching the truck's slow arrival. “What kind of super weapon has Laswell assigned us?”
The back of the truck was lowered with a mechanical hiss, and one of the guards moved inside while the other approached Price, holding out a fresh set of documents. The guard’s expression was tight, his posture rigid.
“Apologies for the previous file, sir. The higher-ups have certain protocols they insist on following,” the guard said, as he handed Price the new set of papers.
Gaz raised an eyebrow, wings flicking as he eyed the truck with suspicion. “Is all this really necessary?”
The first guard nodded gravely. “Transportation protocol for him, issued by his last captain. It's... standard procedure.” He paused, as if trying to choose his words carefully. “For him, it’s just safer this way.”
As the conversation waned, the truck's back doors creaked open. The guard’s partner emerged, his hands tightly gripping a thick chain that led to something inside the vehicle.
He also held a cattle prod, the prongs gleaming menacingly in the sunlight. The chain rattled with a cold, ominous sound, drawing all attention to the truck.
Then, with a slight groan of metal, a massive figure ducked out of the truck and into the light. The Task Force froze, their eyes widening at the sight of the newcomer.
The first thing that struck them was the size of the figure. A man, or something resembling one, but far larger. His skin was s/c, almost ashen, with wild, untamed h/c hair falling in waves around his broad shoulders. He was bound, a thick chain wrapped around his neck, connected to a steel collar that gleamed under the sunlight. His arms were shackled, cuffs linking his wrists in front of him.
And the final touch — a muzzle, covering his lower face, making it impossible to see his expression fully.
Y/n stood there, motionless for a moment, eyes adjusting to the light, his thick, black tail kicking up dust as it scraped across the dry ground. His presence was overwhelming, his sheer size dwarfing the guards and the rest of the Task Force. For a heartbeat, no one moved.
"Hot damn..." Soap muttered under his breath, not bothering to hide his surprise. The werewolf can’t help but feel his instincts rage at the amount of restraint the kaiju was under, fighting the urge to tear it off of him.
The second guard spoke, his voice betraying a mixture of discomfort and apology. “It’s all really unnecessary,” he admitted, passing the chain and the keys to Price. “But his last Captain... he was terrified of what he could do if he wasn’t controlled.”
Price’s gaze locked onto the hulking figure in front of him. He could feel the dragon within him stir, a primal instinct to claim this broken soldier. The eyes of the creature before him — the glowing e/c orbs — seemed to burn into him, even from across the distance. He felt a cold shiver down his spine, though he refused to acknowledge the sensation.
“No one likes being locked away like this.”
The first guard seemed to agree, shrugging slightly. “Protocol’s protocol. Can’t be helped. But he won’t be easy to control.” He turned his gaze to Y/n, who stood, unblinking, before them all.
“Seems like we’ll find out soon enough,” Price said, his voice hardening. He stepped forward, taking the keys from the guard’s hand, his eyes never leaving Y/n.
Y/n remained silent, the chain clinking softly as it swayed with his movements. The moment hung in the air — a heavy silence, thick with the weight of uncertainty and danger. Then, as if on cue, the guards stepped back, leaving Price and the Task Force to deal with the Kaiju.
Price was the first to break the silence. “Alright, then,” he said, his voice a low growl. “Let's see if you’re worth all this trouble.”

Hello my darlings, I’m so sorry I literally disappeared off the face of the earth. I had a lot of nonsense and clutter in my life last year and I feel terrible that I just dipped out without a word and for so long.
Im feeling a lot better in my life right now and would love to get myself back into writing and will probably pick up where I left off with the Monster!Au, or with another Cowboy addition. You guys let me know, it’ll be like my apology gift haha
Alrighty so based on the popular vote the Reader in my monster AU will be based on Godzilla from the Godzilla franchise. I’ll be using the most recent variant as he gets the most depth for me.
Imma run a few things past you guys before we get to picking a callsign.
So I’m considering having his ‘monster type’ be similar to that of werewolves in the sense that the person would carry traits of their monster on their human self, but also have a monster form to them.
Human reader would have Godzilla’s tail (likely a bit less spiky) as well as patterns of scales along his shoulders.
Now, for the monster form, I considered scraping this idea for the sake of reader being to over powered but given that this is indeed a universe where monsters like dragons roam about (while yes rare) weaponry could definitely have an effect on a half kaju, but I think it will add more depth to the character.
Reader would have his full monster form (Godzilla obv) and stages of the in between. I’m back in forth on what size to make his full monster form because having him true to size just seems absurd. I was thinking fifteen to twenty feet tall maybe.
Besides that he will keep all of Godzilla’s signature abilities like his Atomic Breath, Accelerated Healing, Brute Strength, Durability and so forth.
Now onto the Call Sign:
Having the Callsign ‘Godzilla’ its self seems way to on the nose, and I did consider ‘King’ but that’s way to close to König’s own title.
I’ll leave a small list of possible ideas but I’d love to hear from you guys and give me any more ideas or feedback you had for this character.
i will hoestly read whatever so as long as it's not sub reader so write on
I try to have all my readers feel either dominant or neutral just because within the cod fandom it is so much easier to find submissive readers.
However, when I do write readers who are ‘more submissive’ I like to keep it realistic or give them lots of spunk. Like in some fics I read there will be a ‘sub reader’ who literally just rolls over and takes whatever abuse is thrown at them.
Like come on now, you know most people would at least retaliate a little, even with a significant other or loved one. Is it fine to write extremely submissive readers? Absolutely, to each their own I say, but my personal preference when it comes to writing are the spunky neutrals who you can’t quite tell where they are in the spectrum.
If you’re going to cage a wolf you better put a muzzle on it first.

“I don’t like that you’re going alone.”
Y/n rolled his eyes at Ghost’s moping, looking up from where he was kneeled down lacing his boots.
“I’ll be less than a mile away. The Commander is risky, but he’s not insane.”
Currently, the group of soldiers that Ghost and Wolf had been placed with were stationed about mile from a run down city that had been a home to one of the biggest names in the illegal arms trade.
Vincent Hanson
“But why does it have to be you?”
Wolf had been selected to venture from the temporary camp and into the abandoned city to scout out the situation and see what exactly they were dealing with.
“Please, you know I’m more capable than anyone else when it comes to recon and sneaking around.” Y/n chuckled, standing back up and adjusting his belt.
Wolf knew Ghost was pouting beneath his mask, and he could help but roll his eyes playfully. He hooked his finger through the loop of the lieutenant’s belt and gave the man a teasing tug.
“Come on now, have a little faith in me.” He joked light heartedly, stepping into Simon’s space. “You know, I think I’ll deserve a reward after this tough job I’ve been given~”
Ghost snorted, hand resting on Y/n’s hip. “Why don’t you focus coming back alive and then we’ll talk about that reward, yeah?”
The h/c haired male preened under Ghost’s touch. “Deal.”
Y/n broke away from Ghost’s hold, checking in one last time with the Commander before disappearing into the surrounding terrain.
Maybe Ghost was overthinking it. Truly, how much could go wrong on such a simple mission?

A lot, apparently.
Y/n’s chest ached for air as he rounded the corner of another building. His e/c eyes desperately searched for a place to take shelter.
His right hand clutched at his left arm, desperately trying to slow the bleeding of the bullet wound in his bicep.
His eyes found a narrow alley, partially blocked by a rusted dumpster. He took off towards the opening, slipping through it just as his pursuers rounded the corner.
He bit down on his lip, back pressed against the dumpster as he listened to the pounding of footsteps and shouting fade away.
The h/c haired male took a couple shaky breaths as he pulled out his walkie-talkie.
“Commander…” Wolf’s voice shook like leaf in a storm and he swallowed, trying again.
“Commander, please come in.” Wolf hauled himself up, moving away from the entrance of the alley.
Ghost had been talking to the Commander when his walkie-talkie crackled to life, Y/n’s desperate voice silencing any soldier that was nearby.
“Commander, they knew we were coming. They were waiting.” Ghost could hear the labored breaths through the static of the coms and he felt his heart sink.
“We’re tracking you now, Wolf.” The commander informed the stranded soldier as the remaining soldiers grew ready to depart. “Are you in a secure location?”
“For now—“ As he spoke there was a loud crash from Wolf’s end, the sound of glass shattering before the line went silent.
“Shit.”
Alarm bells were ringing in Ghost’s mind and he awaited no further instructions, taking off towards the city, his squad hot on his heels.

Wolf’s e/c eyes open blearily, the light that was filtering into the room making his headache worsen. The male gave a low groan, his body tied to the rusting metal chair he’d been placed in.
The h/c haired male’s gear had been piled up uselessly in a far corner, leaving him with nothing and feeling vulnerable. Y/n allowed his eyes to trail down in an attempt to check his own state.
The fabric on his bicep was now red and sticky from his bullet wound, but it did seem that the bleeding had at least slowed for the time being. The front of his shirt had been sliced open, a few new cuts and nicks left over his s/c chest. Those certainly had not been there before.
Wolf suddenly felt extremely vulnerable in his place amongst the empty room. The windows were boarded up and while the place was run down it seemed every piece of furniture and rubble had been removed from the room besides the metal chair itself.
Perhaps if he could rub the ropes against the rust to weaken them, or—
His thought process was put to a halt by the sound of approaching footsteps. They were heavy, commanding attention and a clear indication this person was confident and unafraid.
Wolf’s lip curled as the very man he’d come in search for appeared in the door way.
“You sick bastard.” He spat, venom dripping off his every word.
Vincent’s smirk widened, circling Y/n like a predator to its prey.
“You were hard to snare, I’ll give you that.” The oily voice that came from the man’s lips made Y/n’s stomach turn. “Glad they brought you to me alive, you wouldn’t be nearly as fun dead.”
Something dark swam deep in Vincent’s eyes, something Wolf recognized immediately. The trapped male thrashed as best he could as the man’s hand trailed down his bleeding chest and to his belt.
“Seems such a waist to not use such a pretty face like yours.” He cooed, with an oily grin. Pure adrenaline pumped through Y/n’s body, only hearing the thundering of his own heart beat in his ears as Vincent sunk towards him.
Fight or flight had kicked in long ago, but there wasn’t much a fight to be put up and flight was certainly not a choice.
However, there is a fatal flaw when it comes to cornering a wild beast.
Its jaws.
Wolf’s eyes locked on to his only available target and before he could even process he surged forward as much as his restraints would allow, jaws sinking into the exposed neck of his captor.
A strangled scream tore through the room, a symphony of agony echoing off the cold, lifeless walls. The man's grip weakened, his body convulsing in a blend of shock and pain as Wolf’s primal act of defiance struck at the injustice perpetrated upon him.
As his movements stopped Y/n released, watching the man flop down before him in a heap, dying a slow and agonizing death as he chocked on his own blood.
The door to the room suddenly slammed open, Ghost barreling in like a hurricane, his gun drawn and ready. His eyes widened and his stance faltered at the sight before him.
Y/n, bathed in a mix of his own blood and the blood of others, watching him with an almost feral look in his eye. His eyes darted down to the twitching body of Vincent before flicking back.
“Holy shit…”
It was quite clear what had happened, with Vincent’s bloody neck and all, but Ghost couldn’t give less fucks about the dying man as he finally broke his stance and hurried to Y/n’s side.
He mumbled reassurance to Y/n as he flipped open his pocket knife to undo the bindings.
“Just breathe…” He murmured as he cut through the last ropes around Wolf’s ankles. “…I got you now, love.”
Y/n was still in a daze as the other soldiers came into the room. Two collected Vincent’s body, and a few others tried to approach to help, but Ghost shooed them away.
“Come on now, the sooner we get you back the better.” Ghost’s tone was soft, gentle one may even say, as he help Y/n up from the seat and gave him his jacket to cover up his exposed torso.

Y/n laid on his bed, staring up at the ceiling blankly.
What was wrong with him? He’d killed a hundred times before. What was so different about this time? Why was this one lasting so long within his head?
But Y/n knew, of course he did.
This one had been personal, quite literally in Y/n’s face.
A voice in the back of his head tried to reason with him.
‘You had to kill him. You were in danger. He was going to die anyway.’
But it didn’t help ease anything.
There was a soft knock on the door and Ghost ducked into the room, shutting the door behind him. His steps were silent as he approached, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“I just finish the debriefing with Price, told him to give you a while before he tried to talk to you about it.”
Y/n appreciated that, he felt like he’d crumple into a heap if he even tried to get out of bed at this point.
“I told him what you told me.” Ghost’s hand approached his head, slow and gentle, before combing through his h/c hair.
“You couldn’t have done it any other way.”
“I know.”
“He was going to die anyways.”
“Yeah.”
Ghost sighed, scooting Y/n over to give himself room to lie beside him. They both just lay there in a heavy silence for a while. Surprisingly, Y/n broke it first.
“Were you scared?”
Ghost quirked a brow at the question, turning his gaze to look at the troubled male.
“Of what?”
“I must have looked down right feral.”
Ghost shook his head. “I wasn’t scared of you. I was terrified for you. When you radioed in I didn’t think I’d make it in time.”
Ghost rolled over onto his side to face Y/n and Wolf moved to meet him. They fit together like puzzle pieces.
Two exhausted, scarred, and worn down puzzle pieces.
“I didn’t even think about it…” Y/n murmured quietly, as if scared to shatter the moment. “…like it was an instinct. Like I was some sort of rabid dog.”
“Hush.” The Brit scolded, grip on Y/n tightening. “You’re not, you did what you did to survive. That’s it. No soldier there judged you for even a second.”
Y/n’s eyes grew heavier, the pain medication taking its toll over him. He gave a heavy sigh, feeling a bit of weight leave his shoulders.
“Yeah. Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
“Of course I am.”
Normally, Wolf would had rolled his eyes, and made a comment on the lieutenant’s tone, but not now.

But I was attempting to reference Rodan from the Godzilla franchise, if you’d still like info on his abilities I’d be happy to share more, but essentially he takes the role of a phoenix of sorts or a fire demon.

I absolutely had no idea anything like that was going on. I’m so awful about keeping up with drama and don’t have Twitter at all because I never had a use for it myself.

What I’m getting at is I wanna start a new series for male!monster!reader!xmonster!taskforce141
So I wanted to ask you all what monster you’d like them to be! I looked through a couple of different monsters and kaijus I’d like to do and don’t think would complicate things to much, so please leave your votes down below!

The honey Badger is regarded as one of the fiercest and bravest creature in the animal kingdom despite its small size, and it’s about time the Austrian king found that out.
König x Male!Reader

König couldn’t quite say when he had first officially met the elusive ‘Honey Badger’ that had found his way into the Austrian’s ranks.
He had simply always been there. Watching, listening, and obeying. And wether by chance or unfortunate circumstances he and König had never wound up on the same team when it came to missions.
So, to say König didn’t know much of the male would be an understatement. He knew what he looked like, at least for the most part.
The lower half of his face was always clad with a dark mask, the snarling muzzle of a honey badger painted on it to match his call sign. He wasn’t the tallest of König’s men, but he was by far one of the strongest. His body thick and almost tank like with his broad shoulders and packed in muscles.
The first time König really remembered speaking with the h/c haired male was late one Friday night. A few of the men had gone out to a nearby bar not far from the base. Only a few hours may have passed when he received a text for the e/c eyed soldier.
‘Can you open the door please? My hands are full.’
The colonel was a bit confused. Why were the males hands full? They had only went to the bar, right? Nonetheless, the Austrian male tread over to the door and opened it to the bizarre sight before him.
Honey Badger lumbered in, two soldiers thrown over one of his shoulders and another tucked under his arm. No words were exchanged as he came in, chucking the three blackout drunks onto the common room couch. There were a few groans of protest, but other then that the three didn’t stir.
“What—“ König stood there, his widening eyes the only show of shock on his own masked face. “What happened?”
Honey Badger waved a hand dismissively, chuckling a bit. “Ah, they had a few to many and got into a bar fight with some other guys.”
It was then König noticed the small dusting of glass that coated the shoulders of the others leather jacket.
“Don’t worry though, I managed to break it up with minimal damage done. And I got them out of there before the police showed up.” The s/c soldiers eyes crinkled a bit, hinting at the wry smile that played beneath his mask.
That was when König noticed that the snarling muzzle wasn’t there any longer, and Y/n had swapped out his regular mask for a more casual one.
“You didn’t get hurt did you?” König really did care for all of his men, and as he stood there in front of the blazing e/c eyes of his most elusive soldier he fought to build something stronger between them.
Y/n shrugged, adjusting his mask absentmindedly. “Some dude threw a bottle and it knocked me in the face, cut my cheek a bit.”
König’s anxiety immediately flared, turning to dig through one of the cabinets to find the first aid kit.
“Here let me clean it for you, and make sure there aren’t any shards left in there.”
König heard the rustling of fabric before he turned around, his body momentarily stalling at the sight before him.
He really shouldn’t have been that shocked. Of course Y/n would have to take his mask off for König to clean his cheek, really it was just common sense, but that didn’t make the sight any less awing for the Austrian.
His s/c colored cheek had a short gash in it, bits of dried blood and what König thought was a small piece of glass were decorated around it.
The colonel forced himself back into the moment, not willing to allow the males gorgeous face to throw off his concentration. He was a damn soldier, he could handle this.
König fought to keep his thoughts straight as he gently plucked out the shard of glass from Y/n’s cheek, using an antiseptic wipe to clean away the blood and keep out infection.
With the wound now clean König pulled back to find a bandage of the right size. While his focus was elsewhere Honey Badger’s eyes were trained on him and him alone.
Y/n was sizing the male up, but not in the traditional sense, more of just trying to get a feel of him. The e/c eyed male had always watched from afar, taken note of the Colonel’s mannerisms and habits, but up close he was a whole different painting for Y/n to admire.
As König turned back with a bandage in hand Y/n didn’t bother to avert his eyes, meeting the colonel’s gaze head on. In fact, König was the one who averted his eyes first, hands trembling as he applied the patch. He felt as the though he was melting under the Honey Badger’s gaze, and he couldn’t tell if he loved it or not.
With König now focused on something Y/n went back to letting his eyes wonder down, unable to stop them from catching near the massive Austrian’s waist, fighting a smirk.
‘My oh my~’
When König pulled back Y/n offered him a grin.
“Thank you, Sir.”
“J-just König is fine, really.” König sputtered, shaking his hands a bit. He didn’t think he’d be able to see straight if Y/n called him sir again.
“Right. Thank you, König. Have a good night.” Y/n hummed, before retreating back into the darkness of the hallway and to his own barracks.
König swallowed thickly, bringing up a hand to clutch over his racing heart when the other was out of sight.

After that night König paid far more attention to who was in each squad when his men went out in the field, and soon the King and the Honey Badger were hardly ever seen a part.
Y/n pushed himself on, his thick legs plowing through the snow with ease. He wasn’t a fan of being separated from König, so he just tried to remind himself that the Austrian was only 100 meters away through the trees.
“I hate this…” Honey Badger grumbled, trudging on as his gaze scanned the tree line for anything that may be an enemy soldier.
“You’re fine, only another half mile to go.” König tried to soothe through the coms. “If anything we got—“
König’s link suddenly cut out and Y/n froze in his tracks, bringing a hand up to his ear.
“König? König, come on now, this isn’t funny.”
Somewhere off to the right of him a gunshot rang out, breaking through the cold air. Honey Badger whipped his head around, e/c eyes rapidly moving to try and hone in on where it had come from.
Without another moment the male set himself into motion, moving through the snow at an alarming pace to find, what he hoped to be, König alive and kicking.

König was on the ground, clutching at his bicep as his back pressed up against the tree behind him.
A soldier in white camouflage laid before him, dead. A puddle of blood slowly seeping out into the snow beneath him and staining it red.
Another soldier, dressed identically to the other, trudged towards König, rifle in hand. As König reached for his pistol the soldier shouted something in a language he didn’t recognize, pointing the barrel of his gun at König.
König froze, and as the soldier shouted again he drew his hand back. The soldier came to a stop a few feet from the Austrian, continuing to speak.
From the brief pauses he took König figured he was speaking to someone over a com link. König’s breath came in ragged, short puffs. The soldier gave a nod and lifted up his rifle, crosshairs aimed for König’s head.
“König!”
Like a freight train with no breaks, a blur of s/c and h/c plowed through the soldier, sending them both sprawling into the snow.
Y/n kicked away the man’s rifle as they wrestled on the ground, throwing violent punches back and forth. König quickly snatched up his pistol, but he had no way of getting a shot without hitting Y/n as well.
However, König could see the camouflaged soldier growing tired, his punches getting weaker, but Y/n looked like he was just getting started.
The Colonel watched as Y/n reached down to his hip, rearing back his arm again with a long blade in his hand. With a viscous cry he plunged the knife into the soldiers neck, who was quick to fall still.
Honey Badger shoved the guys body away, jogging over to König and kneeling by his bloody arm.
“You alright?” He asked breathlessly, small clouds forming in the freezing air from his warm breath. König blinked, shaking his head to steady his train of thought.
“Ja, I am fine.”
Despite the reassurance Honey Badger gripped the top of his own sleeve before tearing it off, wrapping the fabric tightly around the wound. König couldn’t help but worry.
“You’ll get cold.” He pointed out, using his good arm to prod at the soldier.
“Rather deal with a bit of frost bite than have you bleed out on me, sir.”
“I thought we talked about the ‘sir’ thing.” König grumbled as Y/n helped him to stand. Extraction could take another two hours to arrive, so Y/n helped König to a place further from the dead soldiers and out of the puddle of his own blood.
“You’re warm.” Y/n commented absentmindedly as he helped König to sit on a nearby log. Though the Colonel knew he didn’t need the pampering, he was more than happy to receive it from his companion.
Honey Badger did a final check of his body, poking and prodding in search of any other wounds.
With a sigh of relief he plopped himself down next go König, body relaxing.
The Austrian blinked, watching as the skin of Y/n’s exposed arm slowly turned red in the cold. Without a word said König wrapped his good arm around the shorter males body, pulling him in.
“You’re cold.”
A smile creeped onto Y/n’s lips beneath his mask. His shoulders slumped as he leaned his head onto König’s chest.
“Thank you, König.”
