Will you passion me free from reason? ;)
Do you prefer to be on top or bottom?
I enjoy both; it just depends on mood and partner.
What are five things about your character that no one (or not many people) knows?
1. Cyrus has a major sweet tooth, which his family thinks he’s outgrown. In reality, he’s just really careful not to keep sweets in the house.
2. He’s claustrophobic.
3. Between high school and college, Cyrus spent several years working as a fire lookout all over the US. He fell into the job half by accident as he moved around campsites often in the first year away from Ashkent before renting a lookout cabin during the off season. The remoteness appealed to him and he spent the next three years working for the Forest Service.
4. He has several tattoos including a set of scales on his ribs, which have an anatomical heart on one dish, and a portrait of a ‘wolf’ on his upper, left thigh. The reference photo was actually his ex-boyfriend, a quadruped werewolf, taken from a wildlife camera. A hunter or werewolf might realize that, if they studied it closely enough.
5. He’ll sing along to anything on the radio, so long as he thinks he’s alone.
BONUS
6. He played poker semi-regularly through out college and law school to earn extra cash and while his empathy absolutely gave him an edge, Cyrus can also count cards.
[pm] Hello Mr Wright. I'm sorry to bother you but I got your contact from an acquaintance. It seems I'm in need of a lawyer as I can't manage to contact my previous one and you came recommended. I'm not sure if you'd be able to help me in my dispute but I figured it would be worth contacting you either way. Do you have some time to speak with me, perhaps? Preferably soon.
[pm] Ms. Amory, I’d be happy to meet with you. I don’t have any appointments made for this Friday or, if you need something sooner, I can meet any day after six. Can you tell me a little about the situation?

Well I can certainly say I’ve never spent a holiday like that before. Why is everything still wrong? It wasn’t terrible not having to fight over food for once. I consider it a nice peaceful change. More people should try it. Though I just ate pizza in my room. Totally still counts. Seeing as all the furniture in the dinning room has bloodstains.
Sometimes quiet holidays can be very peaceful. Was your family not able Are you planning on making it a new tradition or did you just want a change of pace this year?
scribeswhocode:
I’ve been sitting at this computer screen staring at this empty UMAC application for like an hour now.
Why is applying to college so stressful?
It’s either gatekeeping or desensitization, depending on how you plan on doing college. Either way, it can help to break down the application into small chunks, so you aren’t staring at the whole thing while trying to fill out. Assuming that you’ve got some time before the deadline.
walk in the park // nigel & cyrus
@problematicexorcist The air felt different inside the gates of Strawford Park, heavier somehow. Cyrus shoved his hands deeper inside the pockets of his overcoat and drew his shoulders higher. Not even the sunshine helped. Every time, the same damn feeling, like cobwebs spun out of ice, which was a damn stupid description, and yet--And yet. He swallowed, uneasy, and watched the ground to avoid crushing the dead leaves underfoot. It didn’t seem right to disturb the quiet. It sure as hell didn’t feel safe. Every time, it was like this. Maybe one of these days he’d finally be able to talk himself out of coming. While for now, he could walk blindfolded to the Wright family plots. “So glad my family’s got history in this town,” he said through clench teeth. The metallic taste in his mouth was fading as he got his heart rate back under control. It’d just be a few minutes to pay his respects and then back to life as usual. Or as usual as it ever got.
Far from the cathedral and more prominent mausoleums, three generations of Wrights were buried in single row. His grandparents shared a large, double headstone while the previous generations had more traditional grave markers. Either way, it was as good an incentive as any to specify cremation. Crouching, he swept some leaves from the top of his grandparents’ headstone and cleared his throat. Words didn’t come an easier now than they had the last few visits. Grams was neat handwriting on birthday cards and burned cakes. Gramps wasn’t even that much. A smile that everyone said all the Wright men had. Cyrus shook his head. “I’m sorry.” He pressed his hand against the cold stone. Swallowing, he looked away from the familiar dates and inscription--both of them gone even before his mother left--and frowned at the newest marker set to the right. “You shouldn’t be here.”
Standing, he brushed off his hands, finally rubbing them against his jeans to get rid of the cold. The new headstone was only a couple feet away from his grandparents and that--that couldn’t possibly be right. Someday, yeah, there would be but not now. Nothing should be there now. He swallowed and stepped closer.
Laurence Joseph Wright. Cyrus’ heart stopped. The cold spread everywhere, tingling in his hands, paralyzing his throat, tangling up in his stomach and most of all keeping him from looking away. Jesus. Jesus, no. This couldn’t be happening. His dad was fine, fine. They’d been on the phone just ten minutes ago, this wasn’t real. He fought to open his mouth and gulped down the cold, heavy air only to choke on it. He doubled over, reached out to catch himself on the headstone before stumbling back. No, just no, he wasn’t touching that. It wasn’t real. It absofuckinglutely wasn’t true. He got his throat working, swallowing, as he straightened up. This wasn’t happening. It was a mistake and it was getting fixed.
Looking around, he could see someone close by--hopefully someone who actually worked at the Park and not another visitor, but either way, another person. Cyrus shoved his hands back in his pockets, because keeping them balled up hadn’t stopped the shaking, and stalked toward the other man. “Excuse me?” He sounded calmer than he was, thank God. “Sorry, but do you happen to know what’s going on with the--the headstones? There’s something...” Hadn’t someone mentioned that, though? Vandalism or something? “One’s wrong. It’s definitely,” he huffed, “it’s definitely not right.” He pinched the bridge of his nose, fighting back tears or laughter or both. God, this town.
ember-furness:
So somehow I have managed to acquire a pile of books the size of me that I want to read and haven’t had time to. Which might be more impressive if I were taller.
Book critical mass, it happens. Once enough books amass, they just start to pull in more and more whenever you look away. Still, there are worse things to suddenly acquire.
quiteashocker:
In case anyone was wondering, I am perfectly able to lift my dog and a person above my head.
That sounds impressive. What sort of dog do you have that this question came up in the first place?
marvelousevelyn:
Well, a benefit of liking the nighttime is that one gets to see things like the ‘Supermoon’. It was quite extraordinary.
It was, wasn’t it? I took some photos from my roof, but I don’t think they capture how breathtaking it was.

I’ve suddenly acquired half a nursery at my house. So, if anyone’s looking to do some gardening, I’m motivated to get my house back.
Any idea what sort of plants you have? Fresh flowers are always nice to have around the house and I could maybe use some of them for my upcoming events. On that note, if your prices are good I can get you in touch with some of the local florists and what not. They’re always looking for unique pieces for arrangements.
Some, my backyard transformed into the gardening section of a Home Depot. I can identify most of what's out there and the rest is educated guessing. I've already moved a couple orchids into the house, but there's more, along with less demanding flowers. Everything must go and I don't even want to think about how to explain this on my taxes, so very low prices and an option to just make your best offer.
pagingdoctornolan:
But where’s the other half? Out loose and terrorising the town? Harkening the day of the triffids?
You joke, but carnivorous plants wouldn’t be the weirdest thing to ever happen here. I’d just prefer if my house wasn’t ground zero for the invasion.
scribekalea:
That’s a rather pretty problem to have. How does one go about suddenly acquiring half a nursery?
Sounds nicer in theory than reality. It just appeared while I was away--my house sitter swears it didn’t happen on their watch and they don’t feel like they’re lying so I’ve got a mystery on my hands. But it seems like I’ve got plenty of company in that respect around town.
theforestwarden:
Ooooohh. Thats, well weird. Was there any other clues or something as to who would do that? Or just the plants? Though the plants could actually be a big clue themselves
Oh ok. Thank you! And what do you have per-say? I mean I’m not picky and will definintely take whatever you have. If i can afford it Just like to know how to prepare.
Not really. Some of the tags do have the name of a nursery on them, but it doesn’t match any store in the state. So, unless someone stole a bunch of plants and gardening supplies from out of state and stashed them, neatly in my house for resale... I just can’t make that logic work.
General gardening supplies--fertilizer, spades, gardening shears, gloves, lawn ornaments and the like. I’ve got a small green house that has orchids, tulips, small orange trees, and maybe hibiscus. There’s also a whole lot of myrtle trees of various types, dogwood, magnolias... Honestly, it’s basically the gardening section of Home Depot in my backyard right now.
wrenjekyll:
I don’t get it, why did you buy a nursery if you didn’t want it? And what does it have to do with gardening?
I should’ve specified; it’s a plant nursery, which I didn’t buy, and everything is ready to be, well planted. Also general garden supplies and some truly disturbing bird baths.
themoral-dilemma:
I’m much more of the kind of person who likes to meet face to face, so if I do end up needing help, I’ll definitely drop by. Mind giving me the address?
I mean, the front desk clerk said I didn’t exist. One of the other officers told me I should be dead, and someone else fainted when they saw me. So, yeah– I’m not so sure.
I can appreciate that. My office is [address]. We’re officially open from seven to six, but I’m there until after ten most nights. Closer to midnight, usually.
So, according to the clerk you don’t exist and at the same time, neither does your home? I’m not saying those are definitely related, but it’d be a hell of a coincidence if they weren’t.
