When you’re writing the new chapter and you make yourself sad… 🫠
It’ll be fine, though.
Guess who was productive and outlined more of Metal & Coffee! Me. :)
I think this story might break past 15 chapters, my initial estimate of how long it’d be.
Metal & Coffee: Torn Open
Summary: Kagome is a woman working part-time jobs, spending most hours at the new Spiffy coffee shop. She’s not looking for any drama, not after Kikyo broke her heart. With her life in constant motion, Kagome still strives to finish her novel and be a good mother. Inuyasha is the lead member of Tetsaiga, a rising metal band of misfits. He wants to get his band into the top five to prove something to his old man and to himself after his shattering break up. The hard blend of coffee and metal has yet to reveal the intertwined future in its swirls, but Inuyasha and Kagome are determined to get past the rearing heads of their pasts that set their teeth into their lives.
Pairings: Inuyasha x Kagome, Miroku x Sango, Ayame x Kagura, Toga x Inukimi, and Toga x Izayoi

Note: Hey, it’s been a while. Sorry that it took so long for me to post anything. I was overwhelmed, so I had to leave it alone. I worked on the chapter over the year, and I think it’s the best it will look for now. Hopefully, things will move a lot faster come the next chapter.
Thank you for your patience and support. :) I appreciate it a lot.
I stole this from Twitter but I’m Curious

what element writer are you?
water writer
just like water, you carry your readers in a new world, and they just can’t do anything but follow. your poetic writing allures the readers in with beautiful words, just for them to find themselves on the deepest oceans floors, where you make them taste pain in its sweetest form. water writers are the gentlest liars, they show the readers a small stream, and no one can see the waterfall at the end. if you were a tag, you would definitely be ‘Everything is Beautiful But Everything Hurts’. cliffhangers are one of your strong points that, mixed with your incredible versatility, make you a great writer. your stories have a deep meaning, and never miss to leave traces on your readers hearts. you don’t limit yourself, you like to explore the deepest parts in the human soul, and that’s why readers can sometimes find MCD in your stories. your endings tend to be sad or open, and your stories have the power to drag your readers with you, from the highest waves of a storm, and to the darkest secrets of the ocean.
this feels like the highest compliment i ever received when i honestly feel like a 4-6/10 writer :’)

Magma Writer
Molten rock that still has to surface. You’re the perfect mix of fire and earth, and your story shows it, having the best of both worlds. You’re the writer that holds fire on their fingertips and kisses their lovers goodbye in the most painful way. You’re able to build long stories that burn on the inside. You break the human soul, touching with infinite grace the right cords. You are an artist of the elaborate pain and heavy angst only a constructed and long story can give. If i could see in your eyes, i would be looking at your soul dancing on an unstable floor, flames all around it, to protect it and to forge it. Your love burns hot and infinite inside of you, and sometimes, when it slips out, you’re afraid that it could burn too much. But the right people will know how to love you, and every bright tongue of fire your soul is made of. Your stories are the ones that make the world change
Indeed I’ve been told that LT has broken human souls 😂😂😅

Fire Writer
You burn. In the night, under the hot sun, you burn. You shine in the darkest nights, bringing to your readers an immortal fire. No one is able to portray feelings better than you. Emotions burn your characters, making them matches in dark rooms, lighting up everything, and burning from their own hands. Your best is shown in short stories, where the flames of your character’s souls can burn brighter than ever, and become ashes. Your stories hold the most passionate love, soft sighs whispered against a lover’s skin, and the neon lights of a night club. Pain is your second name, and you don’t mind it. Wars, betrayal, yearning, a/b/o and enemy to lovers are your favorite tropes. But when you decide to comfort, the fierce fire that burns in your soul becomes the warm hug of a blanket in a cold day. Established relationships, per-relationship fluff and medical fics are great at showing this softer side of you. Keep burning, and show everyone how hard a fire can burn, even in the coldest of the nights.

@drosselmeyerwrites @titan-wolfdog @chierafied @mythicamagic I think y’all might like this ❤️
Storm Writers
Writers of the storm, the rain, and the snow. Angst is your element. You mastered the art of making it hurt, in every way. That quiet hurt of a smile on a crying face. Your words whisper to the lonely ones that they’re not alone. You are able to show your readers a universe where everything’s okay, and even if it hurts it’s okay, because being sad is a feeling that deserves to be felt. Yells against the dark of the night. Screams of rage and hurt, tears running down soft cheeks and white knuckles. You are there, screaming with them. Angry at the unfairness, and fighting it, in the first place it attacks you. In the heart. And you’re the hand, offered to the hopeless. With a delicate smile on your lips, you help people stand up again. The storm writer, the one who knows how it feels, to be screaming in the void, and doesn’t want anyone else to live it too. You are the storm writer, but you’re able to build beautiful reigns of ice and snow, and offer comfort to the ones who seek it.

Dust Writers
It’s hard to combine air and earth, and you are the proof that impossible is just a word. You mix the patience behind the creation of long stories, with the lightness of air, and its force. Your prompts are the best, interesting, funny, and creating infinite possibilities and universes in front of them. Your words carry the reader in new and unexplored worlds, you give them wings and the whole sky. You can give a just taste and it’s too good to stop. Your readers become your fans, because your writing gets them addicted.
Your words can have an aftertaste of sadness sometimes, but mainly you like to show the feelings, like to let them really exist, without apologies.
You’re the writer that’s born with the ability to touch the deepest floor of an abyss and, at the same time, smile while sitting on the clouds. Dust writers are a breathing miracle that make readers reach heights that others can only dream of.

@sereia1313 thank you for the tag! Um… mine has me SHOOK. NO CRY. JUST HUG.
Clay Writers
Please, take time for yourself too. You work hard, so hard, and you follow your heart to the deepest caverns into the wildest mountains. Your heart got broken, but you took all its pieces and molded them into something brand new and beautiful. You’re a beautiful human being, and I’m really proud of you. Sometimes you fall, but every single time you get up, and it’s hard, but you go on, you build everything again. Life made you taste how bad it can be, but you decided to remain kind. It takes courage to be soft, in this would, and I really admire you. You’re the gentle writer, poetic words and agape love personified. Your stories have an angsty aftertaste, your words don’t hit the reader violently, but they caress their cheeks and whisper in their ears words that will never leave them. In you there’s the strength of wild streams, and the patience mountains have. The world is lucky to have you.

Air Writer
Exploring the darkness and light in the human soul is a delight, to you. You don’t fear writing about MCD, Hanahaki or that suffocating angst. You are a master in flexibility, creating stories that can go from slice of life to mystery. You’re the horror story that starts lightly, and the reader just can’t stop reading. Before you know it, the air in the room has disappeared and the reader is choking on their tears, while an invisible hand dries them. Your style is simple, and really nice to read, a word takes you to the other, and then the other, and it’s 3 in the morning and sleep is clinging on you, but you just can’t stop. Your prompts are *chef’s kiss*, the absolute perfection. You mix every emotion like colors on a palette, and paint the whole world with the bluest smiles, and the prettiest golden eyes. Your readers can’t be other than allured in by you, and once in, they have no escape. These are very good questions, so I took my time to answer them. Thank you for the ask @ruddcatha!
Something you wish a commenter had called attention to but got ignored.
This is a very good question! When I look at either Like the Setting Sun or Metal & Coffee, I think an ignored detail I wish people called attention to is that both stories are LGBTQA+ stories. Granted that the main pair (inukag) is m/f, Kagome is depicted as bisexual in both stories. Koga is depicted as queer in both stories: bisexual in one and ace in the second. Ayame is non-binary (a trait I’m very fond of) and is attracted to women. I don’t see any non-binary Inuyasha characters in fic, so I figured Ayame was fair game for this. I’ll be fair, Ayame’s gender was called to attention in Like the Setting Sun mainly because there was confusion (and someone looked to have an issue with it). Sesshomaru is queer in Like the Setting Sun (I also haven’t decided how to play with his sexuality in Metal & Coffee yet), and Kagura is depicted as a lesbian in both stories. I gave these characters challenges (especially in Metal & Coffee) that touch on experiences that can be seen in the LGBTQA+ community. Granted the fics aren’t solely focused on the characters’ roles and identities in the queer community, those identities and roles still play into who they are. There’s a lot of (almost exclusive) focus on what’s happening in the story (which is very fair), so I feel like this detail (these stories being queer stories) is overlooked.
I’m a queer writer writing queer stories. Like the Setting Sun and, most especially, Metal & Coffee mean the world to me as they give space to talk about a different set of experiences.
Something you love to see in dialogue.
I love seeing dialogue that showcases natural speech patterns or reveals the type of personality via the energy of the dialogue (words and punctuation and any of that sort make such a huge impact on delivery). I love inside jokes and incomplete expressions that can still be read by the reader and the other characters. I also really love habits, favorite words, slang, and hand gestures with dialogue. I guess in sum I like dialogue that gives complexity to a character and gives that sense of real-ness (like you could see this conversation in real life).
Sorry I couldn’t talk about one thing. There are so many pieces in dialogue and beside the dialogue that could make character conversation so fun to follow.
What aspect of writing have you had the most growth in?
I’m going to focus on the writing itself for this one.
I think the narration style changed a lot for me. Compared to older (worse written due to my inexperience and heavy imitation) fics, my narration has taken a more purposeful function than just saying what’s happening and giving a bland description of what everything and everyone looks like. It’s also less heavy and, hopefully, therefore less work on the reader. I read paragraphs aloud to myself and think over words and phrases a lot more. I get playful in my narration, so the reading is a smooth experience.
I do this a lot with Metal & Coffee. I’m taking care of this fic as much as possible by focusing so hard on narration delivery. There are sentences that I’m very happy with in the story, and there are moments that I worked out a couple times or more simply because delivery wasn’t working. I also think this fic, with all its composition, best shows that style growth since my start as a fic writer.
I’m glad for it.
