Do you think I’d give up? That this might’ve shook the love from me Or that I was on the brink How could you think, darlin’, I’d scare so easily?

VAATI FIGHT PHASE 2 RRRRAAAAAAAA
god I love minish cap, it was such a fun game to play
close ups under the cut!!!!
oldish blue and green stuff cause they're so real
I’ve seen a lot of people saying that totk makes botw look like a proof of concept or something but I disagree.
I like both breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom but for different reasons. They’re two different games with similar structures and different mechanics on the same engine.
Like when I’m playing tears of the kingdom I’m constantly angry that I don’t have stasis or square bombs for example. But if I wanted those I’d play breath of the wild.
Breath of the wild is also a much more lonely game. Most of your encounters with people are brief and they don’t stick with you.
Tears of the kingdom is better for when you wanna skydive and conquer the world as a team and find a lot more action. Breath of the wild is better for when you want to feel small and lonely and confused facing a post apocalyptic overgrown landscape on your own facing the consequences of your past mistakes.
Very different vibes.
They’re both also goofy as hell and have dancing tree people and deadly chickens because they’re both Zelda games but the point is do you wanna storm the castle as one tiny man by himself with no memories left and some literal ghosts haunting him and fight a creepy robot guy or do you wanna storm the castle with a dnd party of adventurers and fight a monologuing supervillain
Which one would be better for someone looking to explore for inspiration in a post apocalyptic setting?
For tiny small scale hope in a post apocalypse world just starting to rebuild do breath of the wild. For major rebuilding after the apocalypse being interrupted by weird natural phenomenon do tears of the kingdom
Breath of the wild is a world a hundred years after a major death event with no central government that’s doing small scale rebuilding. There’s a side quest in the game where you can participate in creating the first new settlement in over a hundred years.
After breath of the wild Zelda and Link returned and began larger scale rebuilding structurally and rebuilding the central government but Link and Zelda disappear for a few weeks and while they’re gone things start falling from the sky and giant chasms start appearing in the ground but society at this point is much more organized and able to deal with an event like that
Tears of the kingdom takes place just a few years after breath of the wild. The world just got a bit weirder. So you can still find the same ruins and century old half burnt carriages and abandoned forts and rusted over cannons. They just might have some new foundations for some sort of planned something and a big hole in the ground next to them now.
They’re both games about rebuilding and moving on after large scale tragedy. Just in completely different stages of it.

The Forgotten Fourth Masterpost
Vio's been dead for... awhile now. So it's come as quite the shock to the remaining Colors (and Shadow) to see that he's somehow come back.
But...
That's not their Vio, is it?
I don't think we'll ever get a LoZ subfandom like Four Swords again.
-Barely anyone has actually played the source material.
-Daily Tumblr content for a nearly 20 year old manga.
-Main ship is a dude in love with his own shadow.
Literally how do you replicate this?
tetra is having a Day
Settle the argument: Who is the REAL Link?
Green
Blue
Red
Vio
Shadow
Secret fifth option; None of em(wasn't the point that they're parts of a whole?)
Secret 6th Option: it's a joke based on Blue and Green's argument in the manga

Minish Village (Music Box Version) - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
how do you link something in the author's note? dumb it down as much as you can, i don't know computers
In order to make a link, you need to use some basic html formatting. Most websites do this html for you through the Rich Text Format that looks kind of like the menu at the top of a google doc.
AO3 has that option, too, but only in the box where you type your fic. All other places where you can write text (summary, author’s notes, comment), you need to use html formatting instead.
To make a link using html format, you need the link itself, the words you want the reader to click on, and you also need the html language that goes around it.
Because html is a markup language that computers read, you need to use certain symbols and syntax to tell the computer which parts are the code and which parts are what you want the person to see on the screen. These symbols and syntax together make up html tags. These are different from the #tags that you see on social media.
Html tags are written inside the triangle brackets on your keyboard. I wish I could type them, but when I try to do that, tumblr reads them as html and makes them disappear from my mobile view. Sigh. I’m going to use | instead of the triangle brackets for the purposes of writing this in a way that makes any sense.
Open a tag like this: |tag|
Close a tag like this: |/tag|
To link something in html, you use the a tag and specify the link you are referencing. You can do that by putting a href=“link.url” inside of those triangle brackets. Your link goes in the middle of the quotation marks. You can just copy/paste it in there from your browser.
|a href=“copy/paste your link here”|
That just opens the link. Then you need to add what you want the link to say (the part that’s underlined that people click on). And after that, you have to close the a tag. What that looks like is:
|a href=“copy/pasted link goes in here”|Text that you want to be clickable and that will look underlined on the page goes here|/a|
I hope that explains it well enough? If you want to try it out (or just see it with the triangle brackets that you need to use), click on this link and edit the a href line with your link and the text you want your readers to see. Then click the Run button. If you click on the link on the right hand side and it works (it will load the page as a preview), you can copy/paste that a href line directly into your author’s note and you know it’ll work.
This is what it should look like, basically:
<a href="link url goes here">clickable text</a>
And if you want the link to open in a new page, instead, you should do this:
<a href="link url">clickable text</a>
This post is getting new reblogs suddenly and I figured I’d take the opportunity to remind everyone (or tell them for the first time) that it’s against AO3’s TOS to link out to sites such as Ko-Fi and Patreon and Amazon etc.
Is the site’s primary purpose selling things? Don’t link it.
Does the page you’re linking have a donate button on it? Don’t link it.
Is the site/page you’re linking asking visitors for money in any way at all? Don’t link it.
If you want to hear what AO3’s Policy & Abuse team has to say on the topic, I’ll link their guest posts below (they did a takeover on my blog back in April):
Does linking to or otherwise referencing (ko-fi, patreon, amazon, etc) violate AO3’s non-commercialization policy? What about if my tumblr/twitter/etc has a link to that kind of site?
What about Tumblr’s Post+ and Blaze options? What about Spotify?
What about links to products people can buy that someone else is selling - like fic binding glue on Amazon?
and if you want topics unrelated to money stuff on AO3, here’s a list of all of the questions that PAC volunteer tealight answered
