Inviting the world to fall madly in love with films #DirectedbyWomen!
This is what I’m up to these days. Join me!
I'm mobilizing a new project: O'Leary's Reel Life. Join me... in looking deeply through the power of motion pictures. Let's invite authenticity to flourish.
High Noon (1952)
Beautiful!
The New Yorker’s Endorsement of Barack Obama : The New Yorker "The reelection of Barack Obama is a matter of great urgency. Not only are we in broad agreement with his policy directions; we also see in him what is absent in Mitt Romney—a first-rate political temperament and a deep sense of fairness and integrity. A two-term Obama Administration will leave an enduringly positive imprint on political life. It will bolster the ideal of good governance and a social vision that tempers individualism with a concern for community. Every Presidential election involves a contest over the idea of America. Obama’s America—one that progresses, however falteringly, toward social justice, tolerance, and equality—represents the future that this country deserves." ♦

Fully supported by gravity on a comfy mat, and by my therapist, I can let go, and sense where I’m holding." Authenticity Invitation: INVITING SHAPESHIFTING I’m shapeshifting….
I’m shapeshifting…. I’m shapeshifting…. The world is morphing… and so am I. I stay open and curious to see what shapes arise.
… I always feel SO excited when I draw this Authenticity Invitation. It comes when there are big changes underway.
Second day in a row... INVITING SHAPESHIFTING. When that happens... watch OUT. Transformation is underway!
I am exploring new possibilities. One way is through my new Remainder Dim blog...
I'll also be revising this blog. Let's see what arises.
What moves you?
I'm wondering what moves you to authentic creative expression. What moves you?
Our niece Caroline McCaulay in the 3 minute short film Expectations, which came in 3rd in the Heartland High School Film Competition. Congrats!
Delightful film written and directed by Hirokazu Koreeda. Yutaka Yamasaki, Cinematographer. Saw this film Saturday evening (02012.06.16) at Indiana University Cinema.
A fairly young, intelligent-looking man with long hair asked me whether filming or being filmed could do harm, whether it could destroy a person. In my heart the answer was yes, but I said no.

Paul Bettany rivets me... enough that I'll watch films like Priest, which I viewed for the first - and possibly last - time this afternoon, and found it a decent return on my time. Or Legion. These are films I'd skip in a heartbeat otherwise.
Bettany's performance in A Knight's Tale alone is enough to make me a lifelong fan.
Priest: What a cast! Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif, Karl Urban... to name just a few. And given so little room to actually act. But it's not required in a film like this.

Saw Terence Davies' The Deep Blue Sea at IU Cinema last night. I have long been a Rachel Weisz admirer. Reports of her excellent work in this film encouraged me to come out to see it on the big screen. So glad I did.... for Florian Hoffmeister's cinematography is spectacularly nuanced, rich and evocative. A quick review on IMDB confirms that this is my first encounter with Hoffmeister's work. I foresee a Hoffmeister film fest in my near future.
Michelle Williams and Sarah Silverman... together. I hadn't expected that.
