I just wanted to come into the app to say I’d put my bedding in the wash and forgot to move it to the dryer so I’m now sleeping on a naked bed but I accidentally opened like 5 different apps before I got to this one, including Kakao Taxi.

Study VS ADHD

I’ve done that exciting thing where I tried to procrastinate studying by organising my apartment, but then organising seemed too big a job, so I started procrastinating by studying, and now I’m in panic cause all my winter clothes are on my bed and I know it’s going on the floor tonight because it’s 8pm and I want an early night because of all the hard procrastinating I’ve done.

Exciting.

PSA to all men during the night

Don’t approach women you don’t know. I can’t stress this enough. I went for a nighttime walk and had three men approach me, and each time, I prayed that someone else was around to see me. This isn’t me over-reacting. This is me responding to the very real knowledge that some people take what they think they deserve, and knowing that I don’t have the strength to fight off a significant portion of the people who have been told to take what they want.

2023 Reading Challenge

This year I want to read 100 books! I never have time to read, between my work commitments, my run training, my ghost-writing, my personal writing and my house-keeping, but this year I’m finding the minutes in between commitments to burrow into a story.

My friend asked me in rereads count.

I count everything. Reading is for experiencing worlds inside your head. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been there before.

This year I plan to reread The Six of Crows, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I’m reading a lot of heavy novels like 파친코 and In Cold Blood, so it’s nice to go somewhere familiar in between.

Besides, the reading challenge is for me. I set my own rules for it. I’m reading what I want whenever I can.

Barker then turned his attention to his fellow author J.K. Rowling, who has had her fair share of controversy over the last few years over her opinions on the transgender community. “There’s a lot of pain amongst the transgender people that I know,” Barker stated. “They have a lot of issues in the world as it is, without a famous author opining on the subject. It just seems redundant. It just seems unkind.”

Noting Rowling’s vast financial success, Barker felt that Rowling’s newfound position of fame ought to exclude her from discussing trans rights. He added, “It really just seems redundant for a woman as successful, as validated in the world, as Ms Rowling, to be negative, to be disruptive if you will, to a very beaten up subculture. These are human beings. She has no right to opine, I think, upon the lives of human beings that she does not know.”

“I feel very protective of people who are on the edge of our culture as gay people still are,” Barker continued. “And certainly transgender people are on the edge of our culture. And here you have one of the most successful people in the frigging world – Ms Rowling. Going after a very emotionally vulnerable portion of our culture. It just seems unnecessary and unfair.”

Today I ate two bananas

And last year I was convinced that bananas were going to make me gain weight. It’s wild how much difference a year can make in the strangest things. Going from refusing to eat out with friends because I was scared they were going to sneak calories into my food, to trying to just find enjoyment in food because it tastes good. Don’t let your dreams be dreams.
