hello hello, everyone!! it's been a very long time since i last tried an idol directory so please forgive me if i'm a little rusty 🙈 for starters, here is kiha's profile and here is his career page, under the cut are a not so quick rundown and a couple of plot ideas. so please leave a ♡ on this post if anything catches your eye and/or you're always welcomed to my ims! i also have discord so if anyone prefers to plot through there just let me know 💖

TAEJOON !!

When Taejoon received a text from Kiha, he was spending time practicing some dances in one of Yuseong’s many practice rooms. He didn’t see the text until a little late, which made him feel awful, but sure enough he responded as quickly as he could. No matter the importance of the request, it would take quite a lot for Taejoon to not make time to see Kiha. He was one of his best friends, after all.

He wasn’t alone for most of the evening while practicing, but the others began to weed out little by little as time went on. Eventually, it was only Taejoon left, despite the many scoldings he received, urging him to not stay there too late. His rest was more important. In the typical Taejoon way, though, he did not listen to the requests of his peers, and continued practicing until he heard a knock on the door.

It was Kiha, slowly poking his head through the partially opened door. Taejoon held up a single digit, indicating for Kiha to wait a moment while he jogged across the room to turn off the music that was blaring throughout the room. “Hey, Kiha!!!” Taejoon’s greeting was cheery, even with his voice strained as his breathing continued to fall heavy. He approached the door and waved for Kiha to step inside. “I’m never too busy for you,” he started, lightly dabbing at the beads of sweat on his forehead. “So what’s up?!”

and now that kiha has taejoon's full attention, he feels a little nervous. of course he knows one of his best friends enough to be sure that the other wouldn't refuse downright his gift or have anything bad to say about kiha's first solo minialbum, at least not at first and not in a malicious way. but the thing is that kiha does care for taejoon's opinion in the end, or perhaps this is also about how just important all of this is for the main vocalist even if he only realized it when the director called him to a quick meeting and showed him the final product.

in fact, he's so nervous that he completely forgets about lecturing taejoon about practicing until late hours again, about how important it is for him to take care of his body and that means keeping a reasonable and constant sleep schedule — or as much of it that they can get anyway — and not overdoing it in practices. taejoon is a senior and older, but it doesn't mean that kiha can't or won't give taejoon's ear a little pull whenever he feels like it needs to.

and, well, this definitely isn't going to be the last time that taejoon overstays in yuseong so even if kiha doesn't scold him this time, there will be plenty more of opportunities later. however, it doesn't mean that kiha can't still sigh in light exasperation because "you shouldn't be practicing so late, hyung, you know that." even if that was what made meeting the other much easier for kiha, made him not lose his confidence in being there and doing what he gotta do.

"but since it’s a special day," and kiha finally steps into the practice room. "i won't scold you for it." for once.

"so this was done today." this, being kiha's first minialbum and he finally hands it to taejoon, sheepiness and uncertainty slipping out of every pore in kiha's body. "it's not—" because he has the need to not let taejoon have a lot of expectations. "they didn't let me fully produce it by myself," because yuseong never does. "but i got to choose the songs and tweak with them a little, some of them were my drafts and they tweaked it a little, so—" it might not be good. "yeah. i liked it, but still—"

"i signed it." he also adds even shyer. "has a little something for you." something being a full block of text that was basically kiha thanking taejoon for always being supportive and there for him, for being such a good friend and how much kiha appreciates him for every and anything that he does; text that was basically kiha gushing and raving about how much of a wonderful person that taejoon is, perhaps a little too emotionally and sometimes a little too much in detail, but he wouldn't be able to write any less for his best friend. "so i hope you like it. it's a little cheesy," a lot corny too. "so be warned." and kiha tries to sound playful to hide some of his nerves, even if he sort of means it anyway.

MARCO !!

he trails behind kiha, giving the other enough time and space to back out from whatever convoluted scheme he had going on in his mind to isolate marco and to pinpoint his vulnerabilities in broad daylight and to use them against him in a time of crisis. a little bit of a self projection that would be evident in the way he finds himself being too cautious as he follows kiha to the somewhat secluded area. more secluded than having stood in the middle of nowhere.

he nods in agreement, because of course they haven’t spoken much, of course they were never close, their only mutual link was miles. and miles hasn’t been the best team player as of late within crescent. his downer mood, the constant negativity, the bailing of events as if all to say that he was too upset about something so trivial to make himself ready for lunch. a sigh immediately leaving from his lips as the thought escapes from his mind, materialising in a subtle roll of his eyes. “yes, we don’t.” verbalising his agreement but also in attempts to guise the eye roll that had spun gently in their sockets. “talk about what? miles?” a chuckle escaping from his lips, a hand moves up to wave dismissively at his badly placed joke. a half truth that lathers itself in his words, syllables melting from a certain weariness that rekindles in his chest. another sigh.

“do you think things are fine the way that they are?” he questions, tone uplifting though the scepticism is evident in the way his features contort in suspicion. corners quickly perking upwardly, drowning out the reluctance that pasted itself onto his countenance, brows lower in attempts to mimic the friendly nature he had composed only moments prior to having separated himself from the centre backstage.

and he’s beginning to think that kiha is trying to play a strategic game of chess with him, the way he carefully places down all his pieces, eyeing the other carefully. an inadvertent squint forming on his features as he takes a step back to let his arms cross before him. “whats suddenly got you thinking about me of all people?” a scoff escaping quickly from his throat.

kiha knows that this might seem very random, especially because he has never really tried getting close to marco, always seemed more than glad to keep that arm length distance from the other even though they were never exactly hostile against each other — of course there were a couple of... odd remarks coming from marco here and there, but never something that made kiha blink twice, but nothing too serious. and the thing is that this might be a little random, the main vocalist himself might not know exactly why he's suddenly trying to reach out to the crescent member.

maybe it's because he doesn't want to be alone after his conversation with miles and marco was the closest person that kiha found that didn't know him that well, that kiha could try to small talk and wouldn't point out that kiha just seemed like something was wrong— though he guesses that just by suddenly asking marco if they could try to be actual friends is already suspicious in itself, even if that could also serve as a distraction to what is actually wrong; or not exactly wrong, but there was definitely something off.

"i mean, yeah, they are." because in the end it isn't like they're some sort of enemies, it isn't like them keeping things the way they are is necessarily bad. "but it doesn't mean that they couldn't be better." however, that doesn't mean that kiha will give up that easily. unless marco downright says that he doesn't want anything to do with the main vocalist or something as extreme, then kiha doesn't see why he should back off, not when he's already here anyway. besides, wouldn't it just be even more weird? if he just give up?

because you were the first one i met on my way, is the first thing that pops on kiha's mind when marco questions him, but he knows that answer will have marco turning around and leaving. "it's not suddenly," and that's half a lie because sometimes it did cross kiha's mind that maybe he should try a little harder to be friends with marco, to try to cross that boundary of them getting along simply because they have a friend in common, but it was never something that lingered, something that he went through with. "i've been thinking about it for a while and i guess now just seemed like a good opportunity." especially when miles clearly needed his space which meant that he wouldn't meet kiha for a while which meant that he and marco could talk about something that wasn't the crescent maknae or involve him somehow.

"don't you want to?" kiha asks relutanctly, expecting but also dreading that marco will agree because then of course the main vocalist won't force a friendship when the other part isn't willing, as much as he wants to.

kiha understands that his relationship with miles will need to be full of compromises. not because that's usually what relationships are about, how they're about finding middle grounds because they involve two different people. of course there is the part of that relationship as well, especially when miles is still so bad at communicating, the main vocalist needs to work that with him; but because they're famous and most important they're both men. kiha understandts that their situation is a little more delicate, that even if it's well known that they're childhood and best friends, how it cuts them some slack for sure, they still need to be careful. even more careful than a straight idol couple would need to be.

it's not fair, it's really not fair— just the fact that even if one of them were a girl, they wouldn't be allowed to date because they're idols isn't fair. it's not fair that if that was the case, maybe when they'd be on his late 30s to 40s they'd be allowed to announce their marriage, but the way things are? they could be in their 60s and they'd still need to hide the true nature of their affection from the public eye if they ever wanted peace.

it's not fair that kiha can't tell anyone about them, not to his family, not even to taejoon. it's not fair that they have to sneak out having dates either on miles' apartment or when they're in public, they need to mask it as just two friends hanging out.

there are a lot of things that aren't fair, but when kiha looks at miles and sees him ready for their date — even if they're the only two people who are aware of that —, it's worth it. he'll hide from the whole world forever if it means that he gets to have miles the way that he does.

"i can't give you a ring," he explains and licks his lips out of nerves, because kiha himself already has a ring, because this could be too suspicious if fans start linking that they wear couple rings. even if that weren't the case, it's too risky. "but i can give you this." and his hands are a little shaky when he puts the bracelet on miles, a simple but still elegant chain with a single small opal as decoration — kiha's birthstone. "because you're mine too." he looks up then, makes sure to be looking at the other's eyes when he says it because he means every word of it.

and maybe because they're still safe inside miles' apartment that kiha also leans in, presses a soft kiss on his boyfriend's lips before smiling. "merry christmas, love."

DANNY !!

Danny shoots his producer a quick thumbs up from inside the booth, headphones placed snuggly over his ears and a bright smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Head voice, got it!” he nods, sucking in a deep breath as he waits for the backtrack cue.

It was almost comical now to think that there was a time he really, truly thought that he was cut out to be a main vocalist. And at his most confident ( and somewhat arrogant ) moments, a full-fledged soloist. Now, years later and post-debut, he finds himself more and more self-conscious about his vocal tone. Even at the height of his internet celebrity, his singing voice was mediocre at best. Replaying his now unlisted youtube covers was more cringe inducing than rewatching clips from his first elementary school talent show ( go on, ask him if he can still play the kazoo ). He’s grown a lot since then, of course, thanks to Yuseong’s rigorous training curriculum, and by now, his vocal chords could probably bench more than his biceps.

Yet, he can’t stop comparing himself to other idols. He knows he’s no where near the strongest vocalist in Blue.M, and even in the studio with Kiha he finds himself in awe even as the other easily demonstrates a few lines from the other side of the booth with ease. Flirting, refreshing. He could do that. Sure.

Danny’s eyes are focused on the lyric sheet in his hand as he blurts out the pre-chorus. A mix of excitement and nerves has his voice cracking before the transition into the higher note. “Ah - Sorry!” He lifts the headset for a moment, shooting the other a weak grin from the other side of the glass. “Can I try that again?”

kiha plays the backtrack as soon as danny gives him the ok, paying attention to what and how the younger idol was singing and how it suited the song. it probably wouldn't do danny any good how kiha does have some expectations on him because the other is always hardworking and as much as he has the personality of a mischievous puppy, danny does follow instructions well especially when they're about his singing. not like they're bad expectations or kiha wants to demand more of danny because of them — well, maybe he does a little but he knows how to be patient and that putting pressure on the other would do more harm than good —, it's just that he knows that danny does a good job. that's all.

they aren't bad expectations, kiha repeats, especially because he isn't disappointed when danny ends up cracking his voice even though they didn't even get to the part of the high note.

"it's ok," the main vocalist reassures the other, not helping how he goes into his more caring and — some phoenix members would call — motherly mode, but it's good, great because when he's too busy mothering the other phoenix members, he doesn't have the time to focus on his own messy feelings. "you're doing good, just take a deep breath." he smiles back at danny from his chair outside of the booth, tries to reassure him. because he knows that sometimes a crack can happen not because of a lack of technique or a note that is out of someone's range. sometimes a crack is about nerves, kiha knows better than anyone else how sometimes a crack is about nerves.

"ok," kiha agrees, however first— "just remember something like—" and he sings the line again, makes the transition of voice to achieve the high note easily. "you can do it, just don't think too much about it. here we go, one more time." he reassures danny one last time before playing the backtrack again.

MILES !!

he’s still recovering from the sudden rush of embarrassment that washes over him, sanguine painting the tips of his ears and dotting his features. he feels his palms pressing closer against his cheeks, feeling the pressure alleviate the heated flush that transfers to his palms. gaze averting from kiha in between his fingers. the bravery he had managed to muster up had seemingly dissipated as he felt the uneasiness rupture his veins, only wanting to go back to sleep and have the comfort of darkness to envelope his waking distress into some form of a comforting demonic possession within his sleep.

kiha’s words drop with weight, he couldn’t help the knitting of his brows, the way his jaded hues light up slightly with an unexpected glow. he was almost certain that he had misheard, feeling his hands being peeled from his features, feeling the confusion more prominently painting his features. widened hues accompanying the flustered expression that darts his gaze with uncertainty around his room. was this some sort of dream? he was certain he had woken up, unless… unless he had in fact died, then perhaps this would have made a lot more sense. his thought process cut short as kiha plants his lips onto his palms, an instinctive deep breath is inhaled, brows forming with concern.

and then, he finds himself in between kiha’s hands, mentally tries to calm himself down, tries to lower his body temperature with sheer concentration. he was not used to being this close in proximity to anyone, let alone kiha. he was sure he looked at least horrifyingly terrified but tries his best to suppress the twitches on his features to a subtle look of confusion. he was overwhelmed, his senses were hypersensitive as if he were drowning in an ocean of emotions and unsaid feelings. too in his own head to realise the sudden tenderness that momentarily meets with his own lips, and he swears, he swears that he had almost passed out from the the overstimulation of his senses. overwhelmed was everything that encompassed him.

widened eyes finally resting on kiha, carefully watching his features, feeling his own heart rate beat too fast for comfort, a sense of adrenaline building up in his cerulean veins. digits curl in on themselves by his sides, digging into the mattress beneath. shoulders frozen in place, unsure of what to do next, unfamiliar territory laced with slight panic bleeding from his reverie.

“i—” his gaze drops from kiha, hands reaching for kiha’s own. “… i don’t know what to do right now.” he confesses. “i feel like i’m going to pass out.” he adds, grip tightening on kiha’s hands, cupping them in between his own. “so— what… wha—what are we now?” clearly best friends don’t kiss each other, to his knowledge at least.

ok, so maybe kiha hasn't exactly thought this through. after all, he went to miles' apartment— not exactly in a whim but more— it was more like a reflex than anything else, couldn't help but follow the urge to see the other after reading the letter and seeing the ring with the orange key, couldn't really think of anything besides how much he wanted to see miles and tell him what he has been feeling for a long time and only realized it now. but everything after that? especially after he impulsively kissed miles on the lips?

it's like kiha realizes what he has just done, the weight of his actions sink in and as much as he doesn't regret it and would do everything again if he had the chance — perhaps not exactly the kiss, probably would make sure that miles wanted it too before simply stealing a kiss —, but it's a little embarrassing how he exposed his heart and his affections that easily, his cheeks warming into a blush and now he feels a little sheepish and stares at the way miles' much larger hands engulfs his own.

"oh." and that sheepish feeling does melt down a little when kiha witnesses firsthand how miles is unsure of what their next step should be. the main vocalist brings his hands down to miles' lap, but doesn't let go of the other's hands just yet and instead squeezes them back. "please don't pass out." he asks with a way too soft smile on his lips and maybe it's a little too soon but kiha can't help but tease miles a bit. "was my kiss that bad?" even if what they did was barely a kiss, more like a lingering peck than anything, but still— anything to get miles to relax a little even if it might end up just flustering him instead.

"but yeah," and now comes the important part of their conversation. "we—" kiha makes a soft sigh, stops and tries to rearrange his words better. "we can be anything you want us to be." and kiha means it, means every word. even if miles just wants to be friends — though the main vocalist doubts that a little if his assumptions of miles' feelings are —, kiha would rather have that than nothing at all.

"we can be friends if you want to be friends." and kiha would love to say that nothing would have to change, but perhaps that's a little too late for that and it isn't fair if he starts not being honest with miles now of all times. "or," and there he goes blushing again, looking down at their joined hands and kiha fidgets a little with miles' fingers while feeling a little shy. "you know, we can be—" and the word weighs on his tongue, feel foreign even when it's still just a thought. "if you want, we can do the whole—" and it's completely stupid and ridiculous that kiha can't say it.

"we can be boyfriends." and he definitely isn't looking at miles, his cheeks feeling like two furnaces on his face. "if you want. we can do that whole thing, date and stuff." and perhaps if kiha was less embarrassed he'd point out that miles already got him the ring so they're somewhat halfway there anyway, perhaps when kiha feels a little brave, a little more certain on where they're standing.

MARCO !!

as much as marco would appreciate seeing the small flickers of flames alight the catastrophe that was kiha and miles’ friendship, he would rather not see it burn so brightly before him. a part of him feared for the misfire or collateral damage that would be the end result of his interferences, though, he doesn’t care enough to tread so carefully around them. he makes his thoughts known, to miles at least, that the gentle reminders of songbirds caressing by his lobes were not simply platonic. he likes to remind miles that there was more to those notes than the crescendo that follows after every sharp or flat that strikes him with intensity to his nape. and maybe, just maybe, he was having a little too much fun with it.

he hears kiha speak, tries to let the subtle squint that forms across his features move to a minimal. instead, he lets the curve on his lips tug more prominently, nodding attentively. lets a little, “hah.” to fall from his lips as kiha refers to the crescent maknae as a loner.

“oh? you’d want to talk with me? you’re aware i’m not miles, right?” the tail end of his words lifting in spirit, tone more upbeat than the last. he should be taking this opportunity to find miles himself, they rarely ever got to see each other outside of crescent projects now that the maknae’s schedule had been filled to the brim. constant messages by members and family alike, reminders of not overworking himself to meet the dreadful burnout that would be destined to be met with many. all of which, were met with a simple read and no replies would follow. gaze narrowing as he allows restless hues to land on kiha again, sensing that perhaps the other was in fact serious about his request.

“oh.” simply leaves from his lips, guised as a sigh of sorts. “of course, you know i’m always open to.. talk.” voice trailing off, only because marco was still uncertain about the circumstances, the situation that had suddenly presented itself to him. making dialogue with the phoenix member was scarce, and even more so with the absence of miles. the sudden interest makes marco tense, makes his softened gaze harden with purpose as he tries to anticipate a ‘nevermind’ to follow.

“is it important?” another way of asking whether or not they needed to be moved to a more private location or whether or not, small banter was to be met with kiha’s request. “are you really not going to go find that gremlin?” he adds.

kiha almost feels bad when marco reminds him that he isn't miles, like for some reason the main vocalist would only be interested in talking to him and spending time with the crescent member if he was his childhood friend, makes him wonder if that's the sort of image that he passes to other people, that he's only interested in miles and no one else. granted that he's the closest with miles in all crescent — and now taejoon too —, so it does feel a little obvious that whenever he searches for the senior group, he'd gravitate towards the lead vocalist. but now that marco points out, maybe kiha was being a little negligent, maybe he should start being a little more selfaware of how much attention he gives to miles and then to his other friends in crescent.

"yeah, i know." and kiha barely has in himself to roll his eyes at marco's remark, but he still tries anyway even if just for the sake of keeping things lighter between them. "miles isn't that short." he even teases marco a little, one of the few people that kiha can actually tease about his height even though their difference isn't that big, two or three centimeters max.

and he does feel a little relieved when the other accepts to talk even though now kiha isn't quite sure how he should start this conversation, what exactly that conversation should even be about. "let's—" he licks his lips nervously, looks around for a moment. "just relocate for a moment, find somewhere quieter." and with less people to gossip about them, kiha is sure that he has seen a set of stairs just around the hallway, not far enough that they won't hear if someone calls for them but it does give them a little more of privacy."

he starts walking and hopes that marco is following him or else things would be really awkward, takes the chance to answer all of the other's questions. "i mean—" and to be honest, kiha doesn't know. "i guess a little bit. it's not like super important, but important." and then he's thankful that they're walking, that marco isn't facing him when miles is mentioned once again and kiha tenses at it. "ah, he—" and the main vocalist looks to the side for a moment, pretends he's just focused on finding those stairs. "i think he wants to be alone right now, so i'll let him be." lest something like the practice room happens again.

when they finally arrive, kiha lets his back rest in one of the walls to face marco again even though he doesn't meet the other's eyes just yet. "i've been thinking—" he takes a shaky breath. "i realized that we don't— uh— talk that much? even when we have miles as a common friend." doesn't matter that kiha just has been thinking about it like seconds ago, just realized that as a possible problem then. "so i was thinking that maybe we could change that? try to talk more to each other and get close?" and kiha sounds uncertain, perhaps a little scared of rejection, but he's quick to reassure as well that— "of course only if you want to! if you think things are fine the way they are, then i won't insist in it." because the last thing that kiha would want is making marco uncomfortable, is yet again forcing someone to do something they don't want to just because he thinks it's the best option.

MINHO !!

Minho shoved another handful of pretzels into his mouth ( adorably shaped like pumpkins and bats, to match the spooky Halloween theme going on tonight! ), chewing happily as he watched his most favorite big brother ( don’t tell his actual big brother, kiha hyung is just a way better hugger and too sparkly and amazing not to be his most favorite ) reach for some snacks from halfway underneath the table. Oh, under the table. That’s a pretty good place to hide a witch. That’s why he came over here. Plus the pretzels. Although, Kiha didn’t seem excited like he had found a witch hiding underneath there, so maybe the witch was somewhere else. Maybe the ceiling? Minho peeked upwards but could only see bright lights and now vague sunspots from staring too long at the lights.

“It’s just me! And these pretzels.” He reached for some more pretzels, trying to see if he could find a new shape in his palm. No luck. “Thank you! Your costume is super cute too hyungie, I didn’t even know Stitch turns pink. I like it! Is it comfy? I couldn’t fit in the car without help in this costume, but I’ve finally figured out how to get through doors without help!”

He hummed happily under his breath as he finished off his pretzels. “I am! I really liked her outfit, it was so spooky. Maybe next year I’ll be something spooky. Like the clown from IT or a zombie. Both are pretty Halloween appropriate.”

Kiha was right though. Two heads were better than one! That was double the eyes, double the hands, and double the enthusiasm to locate a spooky, never-before-seen witch to learn more spooky stories and a girl group choreography. Kiha was a great dancer, he’d look super cute in his onesie doing a girl group choreography. He hoped it was like Etoile’s choreo. He was great at learning Etoile’s choreo.

Minho offered his ( clean! ) hand to Kiha with a warm smile. “Let’s go find us that witch, hyungie! People always find monsters and ghosts and witches in groups in horror movies.”

endearment blooms in his chest when kiha looks at minho and what he sees is the other having the time of his life with the snacks, almost makes him forget the whole witch showing up unannounced in the party and cursed them all, it makes him all kinds of older brotherly love grow for the boy in front of him— almost makes him reach out for minho to wipe some of the sugary crumbles that are stuck to the corners of his mouth. the only thing that stops him is because he doesn't want to dirt his onesie, especially how long he spent trying to find it because finding a stitch onesie was easy but angel's? especially one that fit him? that was a nightmare in itself.

"he doesn't." and kiha's tone sounds a little too fond for someone who is just explaining his costume to someone else. "i'm dressed as his girlfriend, angel. miles is—" and then the main vocalist cuts himself off, blushes instead and takes a moment to be able to finish his sentence, wonders if minho will understand the implications or if this will just be yet another thing that he's blissful ignorant about— or maybe it's a surprise mix of those two options. "miles is stitch actually." he finishes, clearing his throat. "but yes, it's very comfy and warm. and i'm proud," kiha's eyes turn way too soft. "that seems quite the accomplishment." and the thing is that he means it.

and then kiha does reach out and gently brushes away some the crumbles on the corner of minho's lips with his sleeve when the other seems to be done with the pretzels because kiha is a big brother for minho before anything else. "i think you'd look pretty cool as the clown from it." the phoenix member hums, still making sure that minho's mouth is clean. and of course when he says cool, what he means is cute.

the main vocalist heaves a sigh and realizes this one moment that he can back away, this one last moment that he can give up and perhaps try to convince the bluem member to give up on this as well, but a part of him knows that it's impossible, that the other can be quite stubborn when he wants to, that minho is too stubborn when he puts his mind to it. so in the end, kiha accepts minho's hand even if he feels like he's going to regret, especially with minho's words, how he's filled with dread just imagining finding any monsters or demons or whatver of the like. "yes, let's just go." before i change my mind.

then kiha moves out of under the table careful, looking at both sides like he's trying to decide if it's safe enough and when he doesn't see anything too suspicious — just more darkness and more darkness —, the main vocalist stands up. "ok, we can go now."

it isn't a surprise that one of the first people that kiha thought when he received the copy of his mini album after it was released, asking if he could give some copies out — not many of course — was taejoon. it only made sense to gift one of his best friends with his first solo work — of course not counting serendipity because there was no physical copy of it — and the main vocalist did spend quite a long time thinking and writing a special message to taejoon because it felt right, because taejoon was special and of course he deserved a special copy as well, the only one in the wold, just likes miles received his own only in the world album.

so he sends a message to taejoon first, asks if he's busy practicing and if kiha could stop by, also nagging the other to call it a night since it's getting late and he shouldn't overwork himself. ideally, the main vocalist would ask if taejoon doesn't want to go out for dinner because he has something important to give him — and to be fair, kiha does have plans for a meal anyway — but he feels like if he stalls too much then he'd feel too embarrassed by what he wrote, would feel like maybe he did too much and end up giving up on gifting taejoon the minialbum even though he already signed, already wrote on it and it'd be a little unconvenient to keep the album that was clearly for someone else.

kiha isn't surprised how easily taejoon says yes to his request, especially when he did specify that this was something important and unless the crescent member was too busy because then they could definitely reschedule to whenever he'd be more free — while praying that he wouldn't lose his courage in the meantime.

that's why kiha is there now, knocking on the door before sneaking his head in. "taejoon hyung?" he calls softly. "are you still busy?"

People always said to imagine life as your favorite type of movie. Minho watched a lot of movies. He also loved a lot of movies. None so much as he loved a good, scary horror movie. They were always so much fun and he always felt his heart race whenever he watched them! The Monthly Girl’s Manga subscription he’s had since he was fourteen told him heart racing is a sign of love, and they hadn’t mislead him about his first crush ( giving pink flowers WAS the way to go ), his first day of school ( his seatmate had been his best friend for the entirety of high school! ), or his clothing choices ( big bows and pastels and puffy sleeves would always be in-style for him ).

Which is all to say, Jang Minho was probably the only attendant at the Yuseong Halloween Party who was excited and happy to see a spooky witch show up, share a spooky story, and disappear. He tried to see if he could find her again so she could teach him the choreography to the spooky girl group song, but she completely evaded him! He toddled around in his big dinosaur costume, trying to check underneath the snack table for any signs of witches. Unzipping his costume slightly, he poked his head out so he could see better ( and also, monch on some pretzels ). Even though he couldn’t find a witch, he did find Kiha looking super cute in his pink Stitch onesie! He ambled over to his favorite hyung excitedly.

“Hyung! Hyung, are you looking for the witch too? I can’t find her anywhere.”

kiha admits that he might have been a little in denial about the whole thing of a witch showing up, throwing some sort of curse at the very — or to be more accurate, to throw around some ominous words — and then disappear, leaving all of them behind in the dark and locked inside the place of the party. he admits that he thought that maybe this was all just a big prank from the wishbone ceos — since ceo yoo seemed a little too serious to try to pull something like that, especially when you consider that he hasn't even dressed up to the party to begin with —, and he tried to hold onto that for as long as he can even though ceos seem a little too worried for them to be the culprid of this prank.

even if he's trying to be rational about this, it's still hard to completely shrug off the uncomfortable feeling of dread that makes his chest a little tighter, that has him trying to find a place to hide even though he's completely playing it as the main vocalist just looking around for food maybe— or a washroom, or whatever comes to his mind when someone asks.

he thinks about looking for miles because the other has always been much more into all of this demon hunting, ghosting exorcising thing than kiha and the crescent maknae has always been the one to protect kiha from the supernatural — even when those were just the weird shadows of his room when they were teenagers —, but then kiha remembers an important detail that they're a couple now and he has seen enough horror movies to know that demons love to kill the couple first so he goes for plan b: hide under a table and hope for the best, because no one would look for him there, right? besides there are so many people not under the table, he's sure that whatever is haunting the party will have much more fun with whatever is going there than where kiha is thinking about hiding.

and he's about to get some snacks so at least he won't starve and he's about to reach for a cupcake with a pumpkin on top when minho approaches him, startling the poor main vocalist almost out of his skin— both because of his huge costume (and thank god no one is paying attention to them so kiha can save some of his pride) and both because kiha was so focused on escape plan that he hasn't even noticed the younger approach.

"thank god, it's just you." he can't help the sigh of relief even though his heart is still beating like crazy on his chest. "looking for the witch?" he raises his eyebrows at the younger idol. "nice costume by the way," it just suits minho somehow. but then kiha is widening his eyes and— "you are looking for the witch— what—"

though to be honest, kiha isn't exactly surprised that minho seems excited even about this whole witch thing. somehow that fits the sunshine personality that the other has even though the main vocalist was hoping a little that minho would be more on the scared side, at least then it was a little easier to play protective hyung even though kiha was scared shitless by the whole thing, especially because now he can't leave minho alone to go after the witch— or the demon— or the ghost, whatever that woman was. if something happened to the younger idol, to his baby brother, kiha would never forgive himself. "i wasn't, no." and then he sighs before smiling at minho. "but we could look for her together. two is always better than one, right? so what do you think?"

at least they won't be alone, right? they might actually survive this, right?

he doesn’t find it logical that he was to decorate an entire apartment when at most, he would only use one room within the place. slight regret seeping in at the thought of having chosen such a large place without having thought through his decision more thoroughly. originally, he had only thought about the freedom and liberty that came with such a spacious living area, arms spread and being able to prance about his home without a care in the world. it made for a better practice room than the yuseong building itself. but alas, the decision was shadowed by his carelessness. his mother calls regularly, though not as often as before with constant reminders of making sure his home felt like a home. to which, he assures her that it does, that it’s not empty, that’s not as cold and barren looking as its reality. but here he is, conceding to the fact that he possibly thrives on living in a barren wasteland.

“it only took me this long to invite you because…” he trails off, only because he didn’t really have a reasonable explanation, “…i just assumed you were too busy.” he shrugs, lets his shoulders fall back to a roll. ever since being able to move out from the dorms, the first year felt liberating, then came the second year, where he began to feel as though the withdrawal had hit him like a tonne of bricks. the realisation that he won’t be waking up to the shouting of his members, nor the random smack across his face for no reason at all as an act of being his animate alarm. a part of him feels soothed by the thought, but he also can’t help the empty void that gradually deepens. perhaps, a roommate could do him some good. preferably one that knows how to cook.

lips agape and before he could even speak again, kiha confirms he’ll be getting new furniture, gaze moving to meet with kiha’s again, “is this… is this a date?” brows wiggling above teasing hues, as corners tug ever so slightly into a smirk. “i can come pick you up if it’s easier? i’m sure manager hyung has a lot on his plate managing the bunch of you phoenix people.” moving to push the empty boxes together, “now that i’m thinking about it more, i’m slightly terrified of furniture shopping. do all my future furniture need to match each other?”

colour schemes, design, the overall theme of the apartment, all things he has to take into consideration. the overwhelming possibilities of what he could do with his confined space makes his head spin for a moment, does he go with all black? and make his entire apartment look like an endless pit of darkness? or does he keep it minimalist with the way things are and have white things scatter the place? no… white things collect dust. perhaps, black… he trails off into deep thought.

kiha raises both his eyebrows at miles when the other feels like he needs to explain why it took so long for him to invite kiha even though the main vocalist was joking about the whole thing. after all, the main vocalist would never take it personally and he sort of gets it in a way, miles isn't exactly the most social person there is and was probably just enjoying the fact that he didn't have to share his home with anyone else. "you were right, i was a little busy." but kiha humors miles anyway, even though he'd never be too busy to visit his best friend even if it meant sneaking out when yoon hyung wasn't looking.

the main vocalist waits for miles to put the boxes away before he's moving again, dragging himself to sit by the other's side and then letting himself shamelessly melt against miles, chuckling softly with his joke about their "date". "i don't know, is this your sneaky way of asking me out?" is what kiha replies instead, taking miles' arm and wrapping it around his shoulder so he can snuggle a little more by the other's side and find a more comfortable position. "though i'd rather not be looking like i'm going to a funeral in our first date, but i guess it can't be helped." and he sighs like he's resigned though it's too dramatic to be sincere.

"if it's not trouble then, come pick me up." the phoenix member agrees without really missing a beat. after all, miles is right and yoon is very busy managing a group of ten boys. of course he wouldn't reject if kiha asked for a ride to miles' apartment even if it's a weekend, but the manager does deserve to have at least a little of his work weight taken off of him during the weekends and when it isn't even a schedule that kiha is going to, no music show nor anything phoenix related really. "fair warning that if you don't bring me flowers, i'm shutting the door on your face." he says with a playful huff, trying to be serious, to make it sound like a warning, but that composure doesn't last long before he's breaking into soft giggles.

kiha almost wants to say yes, at least the furniture that are going to decorate the same room should fit well with each other even if that doesn't necessarily mean that they need to be the same color. that is true but he also almost wants to test miles' reaction to it; however, if he has to be honest, that sounds a little too much information for the other and the last thing that kiha wants is to turn him off about the whole furniture shopping thing, either just pushing it to kiha to deal with everything even though the apartment isn't even his or just giving on the whole idea altogether. that's why his answer is— "nah. just pick whatever you like and it's going to work. i'll make it work, ok?" kiha pats miles' thigh, hopefully in a soothing gesture. not that kiha is some sort of expert in decoration but he does have a couple of years with experience on decorating his the sims' houses and he's sure that it can be that hard.

besides, he's almost sure that miles is going to choose every black anyway, and black isn't hard to match with black.

🕷 「 @wskiha 」This ‘power outage’ was going on for much longer than Danny would’ve ever expected… And now probably wasn’t a great time to mention that he had a slight fear of the dark. He finally loosens his grip on his partner-in-crime-turned-partner-in-survival’s arm ( horror movie rule #1: power in numbers ) to tug his phone from his pocket as he continued to wander aimlessly around the hall. “I think I heard someone say their texts were going through once they got higher up? Maybe if we climb on the stage - Ash? Ash…. J - Jaein? Hello?!”

And just like that… he probably wasn’t going to make it to the end credits. Daniel’s neck swivels from left to right, peering into the darkness as his cellphone flashlight began to dim. Low battery. “No, no, no!” he groans, closing as many apps as he can in an attempt to salvage what little power the device had left. Voices continue to sound all around him as other party goers continued to push at the locked doors to no avail. “Ash, come on, this isn’t fun - “

Danny’s halfway back to the center of the hall when his foot catches on a chair, sending him tumbling forward and his phone flying. He breaks into a crawl, too panicked by the sight of his only light source sliding under a nearby table to acknowledge the pain. He manages to avoid being trampled and ducks beneath the table cloth. Phone in hand and knees drawn into his chest, he lets out a sigh in relief ( no cracked screens here ). He considers staying there for the rest of the night. At least no one would find him under -

…Did - did something just brush against his leg?! The yelp that escapes his lips shocks even himself as he struggles to crawl away, bumping his head on the tabletop in the process. “Ow…” he whines, raising the hand clutching his phone to his forehead. Under the glow of his phone light, Danny finally catches a glimpse of a familiar face under all that… pink? “K - Kiha?! Hyu - Why are you under a table!?”

so kiha is in a dead end.

maybe he shouldn't have confessed to miles on his birthday, maybe he should have waited after halloween to barge in his best friend's — and now boyfriend's — apartment to confess his undying love for him and get both of them together, but to be fair it isn't like kiha was expecting to go to a halloween party that is being haunted by a demon.

the main vocalist isn't stupid. he has seen enough horror movies — with miles on top of it — to know that the couple is the first one to die especially when they sneak out somewhere to make out or just— sometimes they don't even need to sneak out, just by being together is enough to trigger the demon's sense to kill them first. but then, the person that is also on their own meets a tragic end pretty early in the plot too, paying the price for being stupid and going on his own instead of sticking to the group.

so really— kiha is dead if he stays with miles — who usually would be his saving grace in all of this, his personal demon slayer but now they're a couple and that probably nullifies his skills in exorcising demons when he's with kiha — and he's also dead if he stays by himself and that's how he's right now: alone; ended up getting separated from miles in the middle of the chaos and his panic of being the first to die and dragging his boyfriend with him because they're together even if the main vocalist is too scared to even give miles a kiss on the cheek.

so kiha does the next best thing: hides himself under one of the tables and hopes that maybe the demon is too lazy to look for someone hidden when it had so many options out there. he even puts on the hoodie of his onesie, thinking that at the end he could always resort to being cute to charm the demon away or anything like that. he's in the middle of thinking of survival strategies when someone joins him under the table and if it isn't for how fast danny is panicking, kiha would think that this would be his luck, the demon choosing exactly his table to go under to find his next prey.

"ssh!!" but the main vocalist is also quick to try to quiet down the younger idol. "we can't be too loud, what if the demon hears us?" he whispers, but also pulls danny close and wraps an arm around the other's shoulders in a protective hug. after all he's the hyung here and he should be responsible for danny even if he's as if not more scared than the other.

"i'm hiding obviously." he still answers in a whisper. "i can't stay with miles because—" and then he cuts himself off, pink painting his already blushed cheeks. "reasons. so if i'm going to be alone in this horrror movie, at least i'll be smart and hide." they haven't exactly talked about letting close friends know about their new relationship status so kiha decides to be vague about it.

"what are you under the table?"
