@wtfccrichey-blog
CC was losing her god damned mind. She was laid down on the hospital bed at an angle where she couldn’t do anything beyond staring at the ceiling for hours at a time as the occasional nurse came in and out. She’d tried to be polite when she was spoken to, giving them straight answers and explaining when needed. That lasted about five rounds before she was simply responding with nods, or just pretending to be asleep when they came in.
There was also the fact that no one other than the nurses were coming in at all. She’d heard rumors about other students in the hospital and forced herself to think that maybe everyone was busy visiting them. Didn’t make it hurt any less but at least there was a reason. Speaking of others, she wanted to know who the hell they were. What if her friends were one of the others that were stabbed, what if they died?
She shook her head, forcing herself to stop thinking about the possibility as someone she assumed was a nurse walked in. Not like she could tell while her focus was on the ceiling. “If you have any more questions do the whole ask three than me shtick. I’ve been asked five rounds of questions and if you have more than you’re clearly not very good at investigating.” She didn’t bother to look over, or apologize for her words. Her pain killers were wearing off and everything was starting to ache. “If you’re going to ask, at least give me more pain meds. It might not make the answers sensible but at least I won’t be screaming them in pain.”
People used to say CC’s wit was as sharp and as dangerous as a knife. Clearly none of them had ever been stabbed before, because her wit didn’t hurt this much and the odds of it killing someone were a lot lower than the chances of her dying by the actual fucking stab wound in her stomach.
She doesn’t remember much, only that she’d slipped out of the party following Miles letting her know he was taking Parker home. Seeing no one else she was particularly interested in, she’d slipped out to have a smoke in the woods. Big mistake. She should’ve known, honestly. The hitlist seemed to love their woodsy setting for murder, still she wasn’t thinking, and now she wasn’t breathing properly thanks to her newly acquired stomach wound.
Her hand was pressed against her stomach, trying to stop the seemingly unstoppable stream of blood that was coming out of what she assumed were some pretty vital organs. But what did she know, she’d never been good at science when she was functioning normally, let alone while she was bleeding out outside of a barn with no signal to call for help. She stumbled, her legs feeling heavier with every step, and her hands shaking against her stomach, even as she removed one to reach for her phone, in hopes for a signal.
She wasn’t sure when she hit the ground, and she certainly doesn’t remember feeling it at the time, but suddenly numbness turns to a flare of pain as her hand presses too hard against the wound. Her phone slips from her hands and she’s forced to crawl over to it, her dress soaked with blood trailing behind her. Her fingers shook, gripping it and managing to dial 911, feeling her consciousness fading away as she managed the words. “I was stabbed. I don’t know who did it. I’m trying to get to the nearest road, don’t know if I’ll make it. I’m somewhere near the eastwood barn party. Send a search, anything, please.” She suddenly felt tired, or was that just dizziness from lack of oxygen. Either way, the last word she got out was “Help.” before it overtook her, her shaking stopping as she slipped into darkness.

Parker actually let out a soft chuckle, turning around to face CC, his expression softening. He was more at ease with people he actually trusted the most, people he trusted with his life. “Nice accent,” he told her, winking. “Do that around Miles and you’ll never hear the end of it.” He took another sip of his drink before answering. “It’s over. Me and Emry. I told him I wanted to be with him and Miles, he didn’t want to deal with that, I didn’t want to force him into it, so we’re done.”
She grinned mischievously as an idea popped in her head. “Well I know what I’m doing next time I have to drag his ass away from the bar for a slow dance.” She snorts, before her expression changes when he mentions Emry. She doesn’t say anything at first, simply hops off the barstool and hugs him tightly. When she did speak up, her voice was quiet. “I - I don’t know what to say that’ll help Parker. I can’t really imagine what it was like, but breakups suck no matter what, so I have a bit of an idea. Let me know if you need anything,” Pulling back from the hug, she reached up and pressed a kiss to his forehead, before smirking. “And that includes leaving for the ‘bathroom’ to give you and Miles some alone time.”
meredith-briggs:
“ Oh please, this is Eastwood, do you really think they ever have to worry about any bill? ” Meredith chuckled. When the girl mentioned that basically all they needed was aliens, she turned towards the other and laughed. “ Please. ” She chuckled. “ Let’s bring all the aliens here and have an even better party. ” Honestly, it’d probably be the best day of her life. If only.
“Fair enough. They can’t be bothered with the hitlist, let alone a bloody electric bill.” CC gave a light roll of her eyes, before grinning at the thought of aliens coming into the barn party. “As long as they’re not the ones from like the fifth wave or something, I’d be so down to have them around. Make it a memorable night, am I right?”
meredith-briggs:
“ I have to admit that I didn’t expect this place to look this amazing. ” Meredith let out as she took in the sight of the barn. The old wooden barn was decorated in what seemed to be thousands of fairy lights, Christmas lights and white fabric. Honestly, she would’ve paired it with a wedding, but it could definitely work for a dance as well. “ Although, that might just be the space nerd coming out. ” She added with a soft chuckle. After all, the lights looked more like stars in the darkness that surrounded the barn.
“It does look lovely, doesn’t it? Must be causing whoever’s in charge of the electric bill a fortune though.” CC chuckled, taking in the sights for the first time since arriving. Between dragging Miles away from the barn and a few of her dance partners, she hadn’t really gotten the chance to look around. “All it needs now is some aliens abducting the cattle, and we’ll be like a real Sci-Fi movie.”
parkerjamcs:
Parker spent the previous day sulking about his breakup, drinking and burying himself under several blankets on the couch and watching tv. He didn’t check his phone or got online, terrified of seeing the hate he would no doubt receive on his blog. However, when he did check his phone late in the night, Riley had unexpectedly asked him to be his date for the dance just so they could get in, so he agreed, thinking it could be a good distraction. Wearing jeans and a red flannel to go with the barn theme, Parker was at the bar, drinking his second flute of champagne as he watched the happy couples on the dance floor, his mood already becoming sour. “Don’t they realize that, like, any one of them could be the next victim?” he found himself saying out loud to no one in particular. “What are they so happy for?”
When CC saw Parker at the bar without Emry, she was confused. The two had been pretty attached at the hip last she’d seen them. But then he spoke and she took in the somber, almost bitter tone to his voice and she realized something must have happened. The first thing she felt was guilt, had what she said caused something? But it was quickly replaced for concern for her best friend, and she sat on the stool next to him, crossing her legs neatly beneath the skirt of her light blue gingham dress. She knew better than to bring Emry up directly so she rested her chin in her hand and spoke. “Parker James, if you think that you can raid the bar without me, you’ve got another thing comin’” Her attempt at a southern accent wasn’t even close, but what else could you expect from someone who grew up in not only the north, but the north of bloody England. Still, she gave him a toothy smile, and continued cheerfully, “What’s up buttercup?”

Parker returned the smile down at her, putting his hands into her hair as he started to play with it. “I suppose you’re right,” he sighed. “But he already hates Miles. He was pissed that I was taking care of him, so if he hears about this…” He shook his head. “I’m dead. I’m so dead.”
CC smiled at the feeling of Parker’s hands in her hair, before frowning slightly. “If he has a problem with your friends, especially you taking care of one, that’s-” She chewed on her bottom lip trying to think of the best way to phrase things. “That’s not exactly a sign of a, er, healthy relationship. I’m not saying that its totally gone, its just - its kind of a bad sign, if I’m being honest.” Her frown only deepened at his next words. “Parker...If you’re that worried about how he’ll react over a mistake, maybe take some time to think about this relationship. You shouldn’t have to worry about it this much, y’know?”
milesxdamon:
There was nothing Miles hated more than hospitals. He knew he’d be dead if it weren’t for the fact that he was stuck in the uncomfortable, scratchy bed, but honestly, he didn’t really give a shit. The smell, the disgusting fluorescent lighting, the chemicals pumped into his blood, making everything more hazy and distant; It all combined into a mixture of misery and anxiety that would probably give him the worst headache of his life if he wan’t so full of pain medications. He could only imagine the bill. Was his shitty insurance even going to cover a fucking stab wound? Christ, there had to be some home remedy to a hole in his gut. He probably could’ve avoided all of this. Of course, there wasn’t one, but that was too scary to think about. No way to fix it yourself meant it was bad. As in, death bad. The one time he’d been to a hospital as a kid, it’d been for his younger sister’s near-fatal allergic reaction, and he’d spent every hour awake and pacing wondering whether or not she’d make it out alive. Everything else was manageable enough to handle without throwing out the extra money and bringing on unneeded attention and questions.
He’d managed to get every nurse to hate him, with exactly how irritable he was, stuck in a bed, unable to move or do anything. For someone constant;y in motion, always in need of something to do, it was hell to have to stay in one place all day. He didn’t know how much longer he could stand it. Desperate for some mental stimulation, he’d started counting the holes in the ceiling a few days ago when he felt awake enough (which was rarely). That explained his focused gaze on the ceiling when he heard the footsteps enter his room. Not even looking, he spoke, his tone filled with pissed-off exasperation. “I swear to God, Angelica, if you try to give me morphine again, I will rip out these IVs and go full psycho on you.” His voice was scratchy and rough, his typically faded southern accent stronger than usual, but he was too tired to even notice. “Seriously. I’m not fucking joking. I’m drugged up enough already, I’d like to at least know what the hell my own fucking name is while I’m stuck in this shithole.”
When CC had heard that Miles was in the hospital, her first thought was something along the lines involving the hitlist. Then she’d heard that it wasn’t them, that it was a someone she’d apparently knew but no one would tell her who exactly and she was furious. But all of that was shoved to the side as she realized that she needed to see Miles for both of their sakes. She knew him and she knew he must be tearing the nurses to shreds by this point. So, she packed up the sketch she’d made him, along with a blanket she’d knitted a while back and an empty sketchbook and charcoals, and headed to the hospital, barely staying under the speed limit.
When she’d walked into the door and heard him yell her, assuming she was a nurse she was torn between sobbing and laughing. The noise that came out of her throat was a strange mix of the two, and she couldn’t bite back the tears that formed. “Hey there.” She managed to get out with a slight sniffle. “I’d offer to spring you loose but I don’t think either of us are in the state to pull that off at the moment. I did bring you a few things, take the edge off being stuck.” She smiled weakly and set the sketchbook and charcoals on the bedside table, and laid the blanket at the edge of the bed. She then pulled the sketch out of her bag, a small portrait of Miles himself from the neck up, lips pulled into a serene smile and eyes closed, surrounded by flowers. “Chrysanthemums.” She gestured to the flowers. “They signify rest and cheerfulness. Figured you could use some around here. And - and that you’re a wonderful friend.” Rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly she managed another watery smile. “I - I don’t really know what to say, to be honest...I hate that you’re here and there’s nothing I can do about it. But let me know if you need anything, yeah?”

“I really fucked it up this time,” Parker sighed, face buried in his hands as he sat on the floor with CC in the room. “I mean–I haven’t, yet, but I’m getting there. I…Miles kissed me. The other night. I kissed back.” He sighed again, rubbing at his temples. “And I know I should tell Emry, because he deserves to know, and I was freaking out on him earlier about the cheating rumors and we said that we shouldn’t keep secrets anymore. God…am I ever going to have a drama-free day?”
CC was silent as she listened, before sighing and shifting her body so that she was now laying on the floor with her head in Parker’s lap. Tugging his hands away from his face, she let them fall to the other’s sides. “Well, my dear, I can’t say you didn’t fuck up, because you did, but its not the end of the world. We all fuck up sometimes, its how we handle that fuck up that matters. I think you should tell him the truth. It’ll be better hearing it from you then some gossip, right?” She gave him a small smile as she reached up and ruffled his hair. “If he cares for you the way you care about him, then you’ll be fine. And if not, I’ll kick his ass into the next century.”
Send me a ? and I’ll generate a prompt: 51. Is this a bad time?
CC hesitated slightly before knocking on the familiar door, and waiting for someone to answer it. As it finally opened after what felt like an eternity the words came tumbling out of her mouth. “Hey, uh is this a bad time?” She asked, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. “I haven’t seen you in a while, kinda got worried about ya. If its a bad time I can just, y’know, go.”

Send me a ? and I’ll generate a prompt: 181. There are so many reasons why this is a terrible idea.
CC looked on warily as Evan lead her to wherever it was he was taking her. He’d promised her that it wasn’t anything that would get the two of them killed, though the same probably couldn’t be said about getting arrested, and said that it’d be good to take her mind off of everything that was going on. “You sure this won’t end with us dying?” She asked, eyebrow raised warily. “There are so many reasons why this is a terrible idea, I don’t even know where to start.” She snorts lightly, before feeling him stop. “We here then?”

By the time Miles made it from Parker’s place to CC’s, he was a complete mess. A shaking, anxious, panting mess, who wanted nothing more than to collapse right there instead of fighting back, just let the punches and deal with the aftermath because trying to stop it was absolutely exhausting.
He knocked on the door, sliding down against the wall and ducking his head between his knees as he waited for the door to open. The lights were dim and hardly working, but they were still too bright. There was no sound outside of a dripping echoing down the hall, but it felt like a gun firing right next to him every time the sound hit him. Everything was too much, too intense. It was overwhelming. He didn’t even notice the tears streaming down his face, he was so busy just trying to block everything out.
“CC, please. Please, God, open the door.” He wasn’t even sure if she could hear him. His voice sounded too loud and too quiet at the same time, and he couldn’t choose which lie to believe. He just wanted out of that damn hallway, out of the school, out of the fucking universe. He was sick of dealing with the pain. He just wanted something to drive it away, if only for a couple of hours.
@wtfccrichey
CC was working on one of her latest projects when she heard the knocking at her door. She hadn’t been expecting anyone, having dropped most of her plans in favor of working on art, so this was either definitely out of the ordinary. She was just setting her paints down and moving around various paints and brushes to avoid the mess when she heard it. Miles’ voice, hoarse and rough and desperate. Suddenly, her room could have been hit by a trash bomb and she wouldn’t care, and she bolted to the door. When it was opened, she could practically feel her blood run cold.
Miles was all but curled up on the floor, breathing rapid and staggered, sounding almost unnatural. For as close as they were, she’d never seen him quite like this, and she was afraid of hurting him even more. Still, she found herself kneeling beside him, hands flexing at her sides as she bit back the urge to hug him. “Miles, I’m right here, okay? Listen to my voice and focus on my breathing. Are you okay with being touched right now?” She asked each question, trying to force them to come out slowly, rather than hitting him with too many at once. “Let me know when you can stand, and we’ll head in my room okay? Just tell me what you need. Water, blankets, food, anything.”
