Awesome underated comedy/slice of life to whatch

I have to say it I wasn’t that much fan of comedy as a genre since I love tragedy and sad anime mores but once in a while we all need a good anime to make us laugh loudly:D. I became a fan of the genre after watching gintama I guess but I wanted to share some others anime that made me literally cry for the too much laugh.

1.

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge

I literally fell in love with the anime. The comedy is great, the characters are awesome and special in their own way. And oh tanaka, his seiyuu (ono kensho) was awesome as always, no need to say he is one of my most favorites ever lol.

Synopsis

For high school student Tanaka, the act of being listless is a way of life. Known for his inattentiveness and ability to fall asleep anywhere, Tanaka prays that each day will be as uneventful as the last, seeking to preserve his lazy lifestyle however he can by avoiding situations that require him to exert himself. Along with his dependable friend Oota who helps him with tasks he is unable to accomplish, the lethargic teenager constantly deals with events that prevent him from experiencing the quiet and peaceful days he longs for.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu

Meet hoozuki one of the most badass characters I’ve seen in anime. This was such  a fresh breath of air. I mean, how often do you see the king of hell being treated like a little punk Lmao. And they announced it will have a second season yay

Gugure! Kokkuri-san

Thi anime is such a gem and yet noone seem to know it bruh. The characters were all crazy and yet tender. The comedy is great and I love how they want to break most of the tropes in comedy anime Lmao

Synopsis

Kohina Ichimatsu, the self-proclaimed doll, called out the fox ghost Kokkuri-san with a suspicious incantation! But it was a story of the past where Kokkuri-san was able to answer any question you had. Nowadays, it relies on a certain search engine, but is actually bad at anything digital. He was going to possess Kohina, but got worried about her living all alone and devotes himself to do chores as if he was her mother. On top of that, the dog ghost Inugami who is infatuated with Kohina and the old good-for-nothing supernatural raccoon dog Shigaraki decide to root themselves with her as well!

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan (TV)

The only anime that managed to make me laugh this much was gintama. This is literally a masterpiece Lmao since it never fails to make you laugh

Synopsis

To the average person, psychic abilities might seem a blessing; for Kusuo Saiki, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Gifted with a wide assortment of supernatural abilities ranging from telepathy to x-ray vision, he finds this so-called blessing to be nothing but a curse. As all the inconveniences his powers cause constantly pile up, all Kusuo aims for is an ordinary, hassle-free life—a life where ignorance is bliss.

genuinely love the idea of alpha sizhui and jin ling, beta zizhen, and omega jingyi 🙂‍↕️ the way they’d be protective of jingyi, not because they look down on him or anything, but because so many people seems to be attracted by jingyi and his scent. when someone tries hitting up on jingyi, this sends the trio into SHIELD MODE. growling snarling and aggressively scenting him and anything. jingyi is just oblivious and unaware of his charms, it made them feel like they have the responsibility to shoo away possible courting alphas and betas, EVEN OTHER OMEGAS (theyre just jealous)

one time jingyi whined in pain, supposedly as a joke, but his scent gives off a flicker of small distress from him and then the trio’s instincts went haywire. they made sure to soothe the omega as fast as possible, despite jingyi’s confusion.

🌀 everyone. please hear me out on sect leader jingyi.

this is actually inspired by a fic description i saw but have not read yet, so basically; post-canon jingyi who starts to doubt his position and purpose on the sect, but then the time finally comes were gusu lan starts noticing an absence of options for sect heir. although sizhui should be a good— if not perfect, choice, it's either 1) the elders are against a wen child taking over as SL + he's not a clan member by blood, or 2) sizhui doesn't wish to be anchored and become sect leader because he wants to explore the world outside cloud recesses.

automatically, hanguang-jun won't even be an option even though he has the rights as the sect leader's brother. but seriously who would think that hanguang-jun would even accept that role?

anyway.

so those are the hopefully reasonable excuses to make this AU work, and why sizhui will be unavailable for the position. and so, one night, a conflicted sizhui— and THOUGH there were two options, i already imagined that sizhui would be against taking the sect leader role from the start— opens up to jingyi about it and it gave jingyi an IDEA. full on ‘urethra! 😀☝️’ moment bro.

coming back to the ‘jingyi concerning his purpose on the sect’ and being lowkey insecure due to his UnLan–Lan™ reputation; jingyi had the most unbelievable thought.

‘i could be a sect leader for fun or something— i can volunteer on sizhui’s behalf. if i were to miraculously be accepted as sect heir/leader, sizhui could be free of responsibility and it could ease his burden. he won't be anchored to gusu lan. convincing the others to let him go and live like a rogue cultivator will be difficult, but hanguang-jun and zewu-jun can vouch for him. it won't be just for him, it would also be for me.’

and that’s where jingyi started PLOTTING. aaaannnddd i have no more other detailed thoughts about that.

i've been thinking about this for awhile now because i am such a sucker for jingyi and the jingyi-centered fics in ao3 are not enough and i need more thousands of them.

this is so serious to me guys i just found the concept BEAUTIFUL and although my heart wishes to write a fic about it, i’m too damn lazy and i don’t have the time and motivation for it 💔 i guess i'd just keep the epic scenes i made up in my mind for myself for now 🤸‍♀️

okay so remember when i said that i no more detailed thoughts after that? i lied. i have more. specifically during jingyi’s leadership. and maybe, MAYBE, this could be heavily ooc due to my bias and appreciation for jingyi. you are free to listen to more of my rants and thoughts about this!

(a hint of zhuiyi? platonic, romantic? up to you hehe.) anyway, i pictured that jingyi was in that phase wherein he’s experiencing an existential crisis when he became sect leader. although he probably shouldn't have taken such a vital role when he's still trying to figure things out, he couldn't resist and WANTED to do something for sizhui. sizhui had been such a responsible person for so long, and jingyi knows it's slowly taking a toll on him. as childhood friends, he had helped jingyi so much, and he wanted to pay him back by giving sizhui a choice, freedom.

yeah, jingyi's still such a mess and yet to set his own goals. and yet, he volunteered anyway. (and is such an act not already a motion worth of a sect leader?)

SO. i do not have a clear blueprint for the plot yet, and i'm struggling to write down my thoughts because there is so many! however, take note that:

jingyi does NOT half-ass work that he knows will have significant impact. ↓

even though first-time-leader jingyi has no experience or formal sect heir training, jingyi doesn't slack off to things that really matter.

he hates political/conference meetings though.

jingyi made sure he led with his heart and sense of justice and righteousness. with his wei-qianbei's stories about the jianghu and more detailed explainations about the reality of the sects and sect politics, jingyi is more open-minded and wishes to LEAD instead of control the people.

jingyi heard stories about his wei-qianbei's life in the streets and investigated deeper regarding the life of the strays and the beggars. safe to say that jingyi had established multiple orphanages along with a few certain sect leaders (ahem, jin ling and zizhen).

those orphanages gives chance for those who stayed and lived under it to discover and hone skills, which can be used to find jobs and works to provide opportunities. (safe to say that people—especially children— who grew under this orphanages are heavily grateful to jingyi)

jingyi is that type of sect leader who personally checks issues within his territory, no matter how major or minor— whenever he has time. it helps to form connections, improve reputation, and acquiring information personally. (it more than improves his reputation, everyone adores him. imagine xichen, but more genuine, sorry lan zhongzhu.)

have i mentioned that he developed polearm arts and voice cultivation along the way? maybe not, the roots of my polearm jingyi was during a fateful day when i thought about how hot and sexy raiden ei fought that one guy from the commission during her story quest and imagining jingyi perform it. that was it. it was the start of me thinking thoughts about jingyi using a long ranged weapon. and about the voice cultivation, ooh boy. i thought we all agreed jingyi would definitely be a voice cultivator? and i hc jingyi has a good singing voice so.

and. here's the last one. probably. how can i explain this clearly? basically, jingyi used a different method to implement and teach the sect's history and rules to the sect, in a way that he taught them to respect the rules, but not be heavily reliant for one's moral codes. he saw how the previous teachings affected hanguang-jun, he saw how the previous teachings affected zewu-jun. errrm, something something like, ‘acknowledging and respecting the ancestors' will and legacy, but do not let it be the main thing that will cause your doom’ OR WHATEVER. think about that time when cangse took revenge on qiren because he had prioritized following the rules that almost cost jiang fengmian and wei changze's life. jingyi could use an example like this, how sometimes there would be moments where you are forced to let go and break the rules, or when the time would come where not even the rules could help you with your choices. ↓

he modified the curriculum, handpicks and inspected the teachers' skills and capabilities; making sure they are all focused into developing and assisting the students' improvement. made sure they used effective teaching methods that won't bore them out yada yada. he personally thinks that there's nothing .. bad about their current methods. but there are areas for improvement. this will be good, for the students, and the sect.

ANYWAY. that is much about it?

social butterfly jingyi who is just capable of making friends EVERYWHERE and most of the time, not even on purpose 🤌 i love charismatic jingyi. jingyi who accidentally befriended junior disciples from other sects .. everytime he gets to visit somewhere for a nighthunt, he always bumps against familiar faces. jin ling and zizhen are always baffled when everytime they are together in a nighthunt, jingyi somehow always gets to see or know atleast one person from that place. sizhui already knows the jingyi effect and is not even surprised anymore.

i heavily support the agenda of jingyi being capable of making anyone like him for simply being him. like, he just DOES it, yknow? imagine a very tempered guy who just dislikes everyone and then he meets jingyi and still thinks he dislikes everyone.. maybe except a little for that one unlan lan boy.

okay, look. in any situation where damian for whatever bullshit reason has a crush on jon, jay isnt getting jealous or acting like damian is a legitimate threat to his relationship. he is sitting that boy down and gently reminding him that jon doesn't and shouldn't reciprocate because damian is a child, and jon is an adult. he is steering damian gently away from the idea that that would be a desirable or healthy relationship, because jay nakamura is at the end of the day a responsible adult with a well-developed view of the world.

furthermore if jay had ANY indication jon reciprocated, he would shoot jon dead, and it would NOT because he was "jealous".

and since we're on the subject, ill finally come out and say it: i get that those of you who're lucky enough to not have experienced this probably don't realize it, but you guys forget that because of the specific nature of jays backstory, it is overwhelmingly likely (and i could make the argument that this is backed by in-text coding!) that jay is a csa survivor. cmon, now. what do you think happens to children thrown in prison, especially under colonial rule?
