“Oh, that’d be cool. Wait, me? Y-yeah, I’d go! I mean, if I’m invited that is.”
“Yeah dude, why not? It’d be fun.”

“Oh, that’d be cool. Wait, me? Y-yeah, I’d go! I mean, if I’m invited that is.”
“Yeah dude, why not? It’d be fun.”
“Um, not me? I heard there’s a few upperclassmen thinking about it, but no one’s claimed the first party of the year yet.”
“Yeah, that might end up being me. Wanna come?”
“I was wondering about that before. Like someone needs to get on that like a car bonnet and throw the first party. I’d do it myself but I’m pretty sure my lame asshole neighbour would call the cops for kicks.”
“Since I’m apparently the white version of P Diddy around here, I might do it. But damn, must suck having a lame neighbour like that.”
“I’m not sure, but let me know when it’s happening. That sounds like exactly what I need.”
“Might just do it myself if no one else is. And I will definitely let you know, beautiful.”
“Um, I would, but it sounds like we might get in trouble.” He said, nervously playing with his fingers. “Plus, Joey isn’t good with crowds.”
“Don’t sweat it, dude. I might just do it myself. Who’s Joey, though?”
“I know that feeling and I’m already way ahead of you. The past few days have been one long hangover. Hm, isn’t that usually your job? I mean you’re like the white version of P Diddy around here.”
“The white version of P Diddy? I’m okay with that being my rep. But you’re right, I could be the one to kick off the school year with a sweet party. I’m considering it.”
“You, my friend, are asking the wrong person about that sort of thing. But I’m pretty sure it’s one of those Popular kids.”
“You don’t go to parties, dude? I might be throwing one soon, you should come.”
“No one has spoke about any parties yet, so you could go for it.”
“True. My parties are pretty sick. Would you come, babe?”
“My phone must be acting up. I’ve been really busy with Riley, sorry. Send a bird next time.” She shrugged, mentioning her ex-girlfriend to somehow let him know that she wasn’t exactly single, and that their plans to possibly parent a baby together might not happen. “I didn’t plan on sleeping with anyone either but look how that turned out.” She sighed. “Whatever, Drew, you can drink if you want. I don’t really care.”
“Riley’s back?” Drew asked, his face falling slightly. Over the summer, he and Jasmin had a lot of fun together and he found himself falling for her-- not that he’d ever admit it. But he thought somehow if he showed her he was serious about helping her through this whole pregnancy thing and with raising the baby that maybe she’d fall for him too. Riley being back kind of threw a wrench into that whole plan. “Okay, seriously, Jasmin. What’s with the passive aggressiveness? Did I do something wrong?”
“What? I haven’t been avoiding you.” Jasmin scoffed, lying without hesitance. “I’m not mad about anything, you should just be careful.”
Drew raised an eyebrow at her. “Pretty sure you have, I’ve been trying to text you and call you.” He told her. “Besides, just because I want to get drunk doesn’t mean I’m gonna sleep with anyone.”
“You really think that’s a good idea? You might get another girl knocked up.”
“Is that why you’ve been avoiding me? You’re mad I knocked you up? I thought we talked about everything.”
“School’s only just started, but I already need to get drunk. Who’s throwing the first party of the school year?”
