Harry is new to the whole ordeal of magical traditions, especially the ancient and darker ones. When he finds out that older slytherins plan to sneak out of the castle during samhain and cast some rituals on their own he and his friends decide to slip in and see what the big deal is. All goes well until Harry and Tom accidentally entangle themselves into one.
Harry Potter, a streamer playing life simulator games and Tom Riddle, playing violence and strategy games seem to have nothing in common. They have two completely different audiences they appeal to, Harry with his charming smile and cozy setup and Tom with swearing and making fun of worse players, until a new game is about to launch: Hogwarts Legacy. Connecting the parts that both of them love in games they meet in the multiplayer mode and team up to defeat the main villain - with Harry's resources and unexpected wit and Riddle’s skills with a tad of seduction they make an unexpectedly good pair. It doesn’t take a lot of time for their fans to start shipping them - not mentioning the feelings the boys themselves have for each other
Prompt: Harry is a magical tailor. He designs clothes for the most prestigious wizards and witches, imbued with spells to increase their beauty, make them more likeable, make the wearer look more intimidatingly powerful, make them seem more trustworthy… whatever effect you want to have on others, Harry has a robe for that!
Tom Riddle, one of the new candidates for minister, is one of Harry’s best customers. They always have the most fascinating conversations while Harry is measuring Tom for a fitting.
I know some fic writers get stressed about writing tropes they think are too popular or overdone, and I need you all to know that I just spent 4 hours reading every iteration of the same exact fic plot I could find, and they all brought me an indescribable amount of joy. Listen. Listen. Sometimes you want cakes of many flavours and sometimes you want Nine Carrot Cakes
Nagini is a very smart and sneaky snake. Her word is final, and she always knows best - so when she decides her master, Voldemort, needs a mate, it has to become reality.
Voldemort's mate has to be worthy of him. The Parselmouth she finds on the outskirts of Oxford, a wizard who runs a shelter and store with everything snake and reptile related, is a perfect match.
Humans may be more complicated than she thought, but she definitely has a plan - and she won't give up until those two get together! Add a noodle looking snake-toddler and a sickly lizard and you'll get a true recipe for love!

Nagini was a smart snake. A very smart snake if she could say so herself. Definitely smarter than most gave her credit for. And the smart thing to do here was to fight for her rights.
"No!” Voldemort hissed "You cannot eat the deatheaters!"
She loved her master more than life but sometimes he was just silly. She didn’t want to eat all the deatheaters. Just one.
She slithered across the room one way and another looking for any loopholes she could fit her appetite in. Let's use diversion.
"Master" she hissed "If I can help you solve one big problem of yours, will you give me that rat to eat?"
"...What problem?" The man asked cautiously. She could already feel herself salivating. Oh yes, that fat little rat will be hers soon.
"Don't you worry, massster."
"Nagini don't act like that now." He glared at her "I don't want you causing more problems."
"I..." She started like she was granting him the full mercy of basking in her presence "Will solve your issue of lack of equal." She didn't consider herself his equal. No human, even a speaker, could compare to a real snake. And she wasn’t just your usual snake!
"And how do you intend to do that?" He sighed. He may doubt her now. We’ll see who will laugh later! "I don't imagine you have the power to create a Parselmouth out of thin air."
"I have my ways" she hissed mysteriously and Voldemort was sure if she was a human she would raise her chin in defiance. Her answer didn’t satiate his distrust one bit.
With that, she slithered away into the night, leaving Voldemort to his human, insignificant deeds.
The plan was simple: find another Parselmouth. Nagini doubted Voldemort was the only one in the whole world, no matter how self important and unique he thought he was. There were thousands of snakes, so there must be a lot of Parselmouths too. That was the basic requirement, for now.
It turned out that the lookout wasn't as easy as she thought. Commanding another snakes came easy for her, but her inability to leave her master for long (he needed her guidance after all) definitely posed a difficulty.
Voldemort's equal had to also be a great wizard, she was sure of that. One even better than him would be good, but mostly for Nagini's pleasure of bringing down a peg of Voldemort's inflated ego. Good looks and a strong body would be good, to manage handling the courtship, and Nagini’s great company later on. Someone who’ll accept Voldemort quirks and strange fascination with everything dark and less than moral. Yes, the task waiting ahead will be no easy challenge.
Fortunately, there weren't many magical snakes in Great Britain, so most of them knew about each other. Finally, after weeks of research - detective Nagini on the hunt! - Voldemort was completely inappreciative about, she finally found a clue.
There was a wizard, fresh out of Hogwarts, who many snakes knew closer than a normal mortal would allow them to. He was said to be living in the outskirts of Oxford, and keeping a low profile. Nagini wasn't that interested in the details, it would be certainly a bonding experience for the pair themselves. She wasn’t a nosy snake.
The main part of the investigation began.
Making Voldemort, that lazy and stubborn human, to teleport with her to Oxford took days. Finally, after she was ready to go there on her own tail no matter how long it takes, he agreed. Lucky her, because she wasn't sure what Oxford even was (not that she'd admit to that).
"Happy?" Voldemort grumbled, the heavy glamour doing little to hide his glare.
Nagini hissed and smelled around slithering her way into the forest, calling other snakes quietly. He better stay behind, this way the surprise will be better!
"You." She commanded seeing a small snake peeking at her from his burrow with wide eyes. "Does a speaker live here somewhere?"
The snake seemed frightened but didn't dare to defy a magical snake
"Yesss" it hissed in the simple way normal snakes used. Their limited vocabulary caused Nagini a headache. "He lives closssse. He feeedssss. He caresssss…" the snake tasted the air with their tongue "A quiet man he isss, smellsss sweet and tasssty..."
"I didn't ask." Nagini said although pleased her master's future mate is held in high regard "Lead me to him.”
The snake hesitated but finally slithered from his burrow, disapearing in the leaves.
The human lived further in the forest than she thought. In a secluded clearing there was a small, insignificant looking hut but Nagini could taste buzzing magic in the air. Not very impressive
"Outta the way" she hissed at other snakes on the clearing who quickly slipped into the grass in fear. It must’ve been a safe alcove for them.
Now where are you....
She heard a quiet pop of apparition. Nagini quickly laid on the grass on her back, trying to look as pathetic as she could. It filled her with an uncomfortable feeling of doing something so embarrassing and below her, but she was sure her master would appreciate her effort. He better give her all the rats in the world...
"What happened little one?..." She heard a quiet, worried voice. She peaked seeing a wizard in muggle, dirty looking clothing and a true raincloud of messy raven locks covering most of his face. The man's green eyes peaked through them, in a truly hypnotizing way. Yes, he was a speaker alright.
"Water..." She asked dramatically as the man kneeled, touching her scales gently.
"Here, beautiful, here..." The man said turning one of the leaves into a small bowl and filling it up with water. Nagini was curious why he didn't even question why some random, and very magical looking snake would come to him, but maybe saving creatures was his hobby.
Nagini gulped the water, inspecting him closely with the corner of her eye.
"I got lost in the forest" she admitted with a dramatic sigh "My massster... I can't find him."
"Are you his familiar?" The man asked gently, petting her head and brushing dirt off her scales. He knew his place, perfect.
"He's my familiar." She hissed offended. The man chucked.
"But of course, my lady." The man smiled. He had a really nice smile - and the scars marrying his face gave him a look of a true fighter. Check and check.
"I'm cold." She hissed, now more demanding. Hiding her true nature seemed not necessary now that the man recognized her as a superior being.
"Would you like me to take you inside?" The man asked. Nagini glanced towards the hut with doubt. She wasn't sure if this humble abode was worthy of her presence but what wouldn't she do for love. Her little quirky friend’s love.
"Sure." She hissed, slipping past him and towards the door he opened to her.
Luckily, the house was way more impressive and bigger on the inside. It was homely and warm, far from the cold marble and dark aesthetic Voldemort preferred, but she did see some appeal in it.
"You're quite a muddler" she commented, slithering to the living room and getting herself comfortable on the couch where she barely fit. Yes, he better get a bigger couch. Or better yet, a soft bed just for her.
"I’m sorry" she could feel amusement in the man's voice, but she could overlook it for now. "Most snakes here prefer to have more hiding places, but I understand for a lady like you it’s a bit bothersome. Oh, and my name is Harry."
"I'm Nagini." she hissed. The warmth was dangerously sleep-inducing and the man's soft voice had a way of making her too comfortable around the stranger. A danger she shouldn't overlook.
"Can you describe your master to me? I can try to find him for you." He said probably assuming her owner had no way of truly communicating with her. Maybe he too was thinking to be the only Parselmouth in the world. Humans were truly egotistical.
"My master is very handsome and an eligible bechalor." she hissed seeing an occasion of building up Voldemort's reputation a bit. He'll need it. "He's a great wizard, probably the only one worthy of me." she eyed Harry up and down "Maybe you'd be worthy of him too."
"Oh..." Harry scratched his neck kneeling next to her. She noticed he was keeping a small noodle looking snake in the pocket on his chest. What was it, a snake orphanage? "Does he have a name?"
"You'll meet him soon enough" she hissed mysteriously, her eye twitching in the best blink a snake could manage. She already summoned a very irritated Voldemort in his mind. Well, when he sees her surprise she was sure he'll appreciate it. "He can't live without me."
"He must love you dearly" Harry smiled, reaching out to pet her scales. Nagini stayed silent thoughtfully. Yes, supposedly Voldemort really must've loved her. She never thought about it like this before "I like people who appreciate snakes."
“I consider it one of my few superlatives”
"Good" she said, eyeing the house. "Do you take in any snake?"
"I like to think of myself as their caretaker" Harry smiled "Although most snakes prefer loneliness, some appreciate the company I'm happy to provide. I'm specializing in snakes, actually" he said leaning back letting the noodle snake climb up onto his shoulder squeaking something. A snake toddler, great.
"How so?" she hissed doubtful any human could hold the true knowledge about snakes. Maybe she’ll allow him to learn from her.
"I studied magical snakes in Mexico" he mused, twirling the noodle snake around his finger, playing with the brat. If it was Nagini, she'd already teach that little thing about the hierarchy of better and worse beings but not everyone could be as thoughtful of a matron as her. "And now I ended up like this."
"With a snake kindergarten?" She snorted.
The man laughed, and despite herself Nagini smirked too. What a warm human.
"Yeah." He kissed the noodle's little head. He was spoiling the little thing. He probably conjured food for it too, hmpf.
They both heard a sharp knock at the door.
Lights, camera, action!
Harry raised his eyes alert, automatically raising his wand.
"Dont worry, it's my familiar" Nagini hissed slipping off the couch. Harry relaxed a bit but still approached the door with a wand in hand like a knife.
He opened the door cautiously seeing Voldemort still under glamour, who eyed the wizard with disdain.
"I came to collect my snake." He snarled imperiously. Nagini internally facepalmed. What would he do without her? "Don't you know not to touch other people's things?"
"She came to me." Harry narrowed his eyes "She said she got lost."
"She-..." Voldemort stopped his rant halfway "Said?"
"Ah..." Harry pursed his lips a bit sheepishly "I'm a parselmouth." He said he expected Voldemort to curse him out.
"You..." Voldemort glanced towards Nagini who nodded smug. " You're a speaker?" He hissed
This time Harry was the one to be surprised. He nodded his head unsure "I... I didn't know there was another speaker."
"Me neither." Voldemort said and Nagini could already feel the coils of magic escape the prison of his body "Have you learned it? From whom?" He demanded, narrowing his eyes.
"I didn't learn it, i-i just... I just was born with it "Harry shifted uncomfortably.
"Just like my master" nagini hissed, deciding to step in and salvage the situation "He always wanted to meet his equal."
"Nagini." The man hissed and turned his eyes towards Harry “Don't be mistaken. Being a Parselmouth doesn't make you my equal."
"Not like I'd want to be" Harry scoffed and crouched down to Nagini "Take care, my lady." He said petting her head "Goodbye." He said to the man curtly, letting Nagini slip past him to bump her head into voldemort in a nag.
"I..." Voldemort glanced down at her and nodded. "Goodbye." Ge said curtly and rushed away from the hut, dragging Nagini after him. Nagini glanced back, seeing Harry still in the doorstep, the glow of the lamps behind him making him look like a true savior of snakes. Her savior too, if she wanted to eat that deatheater.
Then the pull of apparition snatched her away.
𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙
She didn't understand Voldemort's agitation. She found him his equal, a mate he could marry and make a ball with or whatever humans do to copulate. Voldemort didn't share her excitement.
He was always on edge, snapped way too often and tortured some of his followers for little mistakes he usually overlooked. She often caught him mumbling and grumbling about "Some guy who thinks he's who knows what", and yet she knew he sent that bat human to investigate Harry.
"I always knew you were limited but I didn't know it was this bad" she hissed slithering onto his shoulders as he wrote something in sharp movements. "A true snake conquers their mate, not runs away."
"Im not a snake" Voldemort's head snapped to her "And for your information I don't need a mate. Even if he's... If he's a Parselmouth."
Liar liar, pants on fire.
"A true snake" she continued in a lecture like he never said anything "Finds mate, finishes their bonding and connects their magic."
"You dont have a mate." He noticed.
"Well, I'm self sufficient" she spoke facts. "And you want that connection, master, don't deny it."
He was silent for a moment then spoke more quietly.
"It's just some kid. Barely twenty. With some snake healing point. He's... He used to be a powerful wizard but he abandoned his gift to run a shelter for strays." He scoffed but Nagini saw how he fidgeted with the feather "Besides, he doesn't know I'm the dark wizard. Who in their right mind would agree to... To someone like me?"
Nagini rolled her eyes. Pity party has started.
"Dude." She sighed "No matter how much it pains me to say it, and all your shortcomings, you're a pretty good catch."
"Yeah, for a snake." He scoffed
"He's a parselmouth, it's basically a snake." She hissed. "Court him. Get him, and never let go."
She could feel him take in a shaky breath at that.
"Court him." He muttered. "Court...him..."
𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙
He was a lost cause, Nagini was sure of it.
Even today, he strided back into the forest like he owned the place, with his genius plan.
In the daylight, Nagini could see that there was a small wooden plate on the edge of the clearing, but she couldn't read what it said. And Voldemort was too absorbed in his ridiculous thought process to answer her questions right now.
He strode off to the door, knocking curtly.
"Remember the plan." He said lowly making her eyes roll again. She was the best actress out there, excuse me.
They heard the steps on the other side and the door opened a strange man, with long ginger hair and burly build. Definitely not Harry.
"Harry is working in the office right now" he said "And I'm in the queue, you'll have to wait it out." He said walking away and leaving the door open.
It seemed like Harry's little shelter was more popular than they thought.
Besides the burly man, inside was a tall, woman her whole body covered in veils and jewels, walking around impatiently.
They were both waiting close to the closed sturdy door, probably the office.
Finally they opened, making the woman jump.
"So?" He nagged the man emerging. Nagini noticed he had an ugly bite on his jaw now but didn't seem too bothered by it. He looked way more wild in the daylight, hair still as unruly as the last time.
"She'll be okay, she's just allergic to sugarplum mices." Harry said letting a giant dragon-looking-something lizardish step past him, oiled up from head to tail "Remember to give her this twice a day for a week." He handed the woman a small pack of vials. The witch nodded, handing him a fat pouch without a word.
"Charlie." Harry sighed seeing the man "I already told you-..."
"You didn't even try!" The ginger man, Charlie, stepped closer grasping Harry's arms (making Voldemort's grip on nagini tighten).
"You didn't even give me a chance."
"I told you it won't work out" Harry rubbed his forehead "I won't move to Rumunia."
"You would just have to visit once in a while." Charlie's voice softened "Please Harry. You have a gift. You were made for this. You're my only-..."
"We'll talk later Charlie." Harry cut him off noticing his next guests. His eyes widened imperceptibly. Charlie turned around seeing the guy behind him he let in without much thought. He sighed.
"Don't ignore my letters."
"Don't come back during my work hours.”
"Then don't ignore my letters" Charlie smiled "Mum starts to question if you're alive. Visit us for dinner soon, or she'll come here no matter how much she hates snakes."
Some of the tensity left Harry's shoulders as the corner of his mouth twitched "We wouldn't want that."
Charlie patted Harry's arm one last time before turning away and leaving the room with one last glance at glamoured Voldemort and his giant companion.
Harry sighed and raised his eyes back at his guest.
"Didn't expect to see you two again" he said, eyeing them "How can I help?"
"I wanted to apologize for my rudeness last time." Voldemort said a bit tense "didn't mean to disrupt the lovers quarrel-..."
Nagini doubted Voldemort could sound more jealous if he tried. Oh, he was already way too deep into this.
"No, he-..." Harry shook his head a bit red on the face "It's not-... I'm a friend of a family. He wants me to help his team in Rumunia, they found a snake monster they have a hard time identifying but-..." Harry sighed "It's work related. Anyway, how can I help?"
"Right..." Voldemort said slowly "Well, I made the executive decision that it would be best for Nagini to socialize with other magical snakes more."
Harry furrowed his brows.
"Snakes tend to be a bit antisocial, they're lonely creatures even the magical ones..." He hummed.
"I think it would be a good idea if she spent some time with other snakes once in a while" Voldemort said in a commanding tone. Harry blinked.
"Well… I never said no to any snake" he said slowly looking down at Nagini who wrapped herself up around his leg
"You don't smell like you have a mate" she concluded her smelling test.
"I-..." He chuckled at her straightforwardness "No, let's say most people are not keen on being around snakes much."
"This one here wouldn't mind" Nagini nodded towards Voldemort who reddened on the face.
"Nagini!" He hissed.
Nagini didn't lose her resolve.
"We'd like to visit you a lot" she informed Harry "we-... I'd like to get to know a surprising speaker." She corrected herself thinking how smart she is.
"As you wish, my lady" Harry smiled petting her. He noticed small curls of skin leaving her back, a start of shedding.
"Would you like some shedding oils?" He asked Voldemort, his friendliness making the man tense "They're very helpful especially for larger species. I'll give you a discount since it's your first time here. Technically."
Voldemort cleared his throat.
"...As you wish" he said finally.
Harry smiled and led them back into his office, not that much bothered by the peculiar pair who seemed keen on entering his life.
𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙
Nagini was pleased to say her plan has started to bear fruits. Despite he'd never acknowledge that, Voldemort was in higher spirits since they started to visit Harry regularly.
Harry has proven to be more than simple martyr. It turned out he's the Harry Potter, the son of the famously murdered Lily and James Potter, a disaster which was hovering over Harry his whole life, who was constantly compared and judged.
He found his solace in parseltongue, even if he was rejected by magical society because of that. It turned out that there are many who'd pay good money for a specialized care over their reptile, or eager to buy not so easily accessed supplies Harry possessed because of his easygoing relationship with snakes. Venoms, skin of snakes, even their bones, he owned it all.
Even if his little abode wasn't advertised publicly, those who needed someone like that had no problem finding out about him word to mouth. That Charlie guy supposedly played a great role in it.
Another of Harry's superlative was that he was a truly talented wizard. Although most of his talents were spent on snakes and everything around them, he was a spellcaster creating his own spells with ease, a true healer and potionmaker if he needed to be. All of those traits were barely acknowledged by Harry, who himself didn't consider it to be anything special. No amount of praise seemed to work on him, and frankly had a reverse effect of making him frustrated.
Nagini's biggest achievement thus far was forcing two of them into a small broom closet and accidentally locking them inside. They were very mad and very red when she eventually let them out, which she found a good sign. A true mastermind she was!
There was still one standing problem however - Harry didn't know Voldemort was a wanted criminal who orchestrated an organization comparable to Ministry of Magic and manipulating it’s decisions - not treating those who messed with them gently. Although Nagini took pride in their hunting skills, she had a feeling that while it was completely acceptable among snakes for Harry (he'd probably allow them to swallow him alive), humans would get a completely different treatment.
Nagini was sure that ripping that information like a bandaid would be better - she herself didn't see anything wrong with a bit of killing so she didn't understand why Harry would, but Voldemort snapped every time she even entertained the thought. Humans were so weird.
With snakes, the strength built the hierarchy. Stronger, like her, ruled over others, and weaker servants lived to appeal to her.
But Harry wasn't the strongest. He was soft and kind to her, and while he could be curt and demanding when times called, she was sure the only moment he'd cast a curse on someone else would be if they tried to hurt his snake children. How come then, that it was so easy for him to make Nagini so compliant? She found herself listening to his polite pleas sometimes which often caught her off guard.
Besides that, Harry was interested in them, she was sure of that. If not as a romantic partner, then at least as a person. Love can come after marriage, Nagini didn't doubt with enough resolve Voldemort will tighten his coils enough to make even the most defiant wizard fall for him.
She already was thinking about how she'll approach the matter of completing their bond (so Harry won't run away and leave her with that bothersome wizard alone), much to Voldemort's lack of appreciation for her efforts. He didn't like Nagini mixing in so much. The only reason they were even meeting was thanks to her! Voldemort should be glad to have such a resourceful snake!
Much to her displeasure, she did leave them alone once in a while hoping Voldemort won't say something stupid she'll have to salvage later on. She loved to eavesdrop on them of course, but it wasn't easy with that dumb noodle bothering her.
"Move." She growled when the noodle of a yellow and orange snake climbed across her back again.
"Uppieeees" the snake hissed. There was no hope for this brat. How is she supposed to orchestrate love in these conditions?
"I said move." She hissed wriggling to make the toddler fall of her “Serves you right.”
The noodle didnt’ seem too bothered and continued its excited assault on her exellent scales. Unsufferable.
“I know” she heard quiet voice from the other room. She slipped her head further inside, alongside the noodle. “I know you’re… i know you’re a deatheater” Harry said, every word quieter and quieter. Nagini freezed, the nosy diva in her preening. Even the noodle looked interested, trying to slip further inside but she stopped him. Amateur.
“How?” Voldemort asked finally.
“I… I can feel the dark magic oozing of you” Harry said shifting on the couch, fidgeting with the edge of his flannel. Next to him Voldemort looked like he was taken out of the cover, his expression frozen like a mask she knew too well.
“And what do you think of that? If I was a deatheater.” Voldemort leaned in, his eyes unwavering on the smaller man. Harry averted his eyes.
“I’m big against blood purity” Harry said without missing a beat “I’m halfblood. My bestfriend is a Muggleborn”
Voldemort tensed
“What have muggles ever did to earn your sympathy? Those… maggots who raised you deserve nothing short of death.”
Yes, finding out about Harry's abusive upbringing was quite a shock to Nagini too. To have a hatchling treated like that was a crime of nature. And biggest crime of it all was that Harry didn't seem to acknowledge he was a victim. That he deserved revenge. No, he just smiled and shook his head, saying something like “Past should stay in the past.”. Well, it's not like he'd find out if she ate his caretakers behind Harry's back.
“And what did wizards do?” Harry shook his head “I’ve met dozens of horrible people, both wizard and muggle. And muggleborns tend to be way more open minded about parseltongue. They’re fascinated by magic and are way more motivated to really research magic, all of it.” Harry looked up at the man, but his eyes lacked any uncertainty.
“...Deatheaters movement is more than blood purity. It’s the power of knowledge. Dark arts. Alchemy.”
“Ane murders?” Harry asked “If something can be achieved only through terror it shouldn’t be a goal.” Harry said letting a still sick looking lizard crawl and plop down on his lap. He smiled softly, but his eyes still held that same sadness. “I don’t say everything they do is without a cause. The wizards are scared and closed minded, more than ever. But the same applies to the deatheaters. I know I'm not the most… socially aware, or politically oriented person. I abandoned society who abandoned me, and welcomed a limited circle who loves me. And countless reptiles” he chuckled softly “The ministry hates I'm a parselmouth and nothing like my parents. Deatheaters hate me. I don't judge a book by its cover and I'm not scared to stand up for what I believe in.”
“Deatheaters wouldn’t hate you” Voldemort said with conviction. Of course, he’d kill anyone who opposed Harry.
Harry shook his head “Do you think deatheaters never bothered me?” Nagini felt herself fling her tail uneasy “I’m used to people rejecting me. This wouldn’t be an exception.”
Voldemort reached out and for a second Nagini thought he’d grab the man's hand but he only placed it on the ugly lizard and scratched its head.
“What if i changed the world?” Voldemort asked softly.
“You don’t have the power to change the whole world” Harry smiled sadly.
“I’m very motivated.”
“Why?” Harry asked, turning his head to Voldemort. Their faces were now so close they could feel each other breath.
“Because…” Voldemort raised his hand like he was scared Harry would run away like a skittish animal. Finally his hand cupped Harry's cheek and stroked it with his cold thumb. “Because you’re worth it, Harry.”
Harry sighed into the touch, momentarily getting himself lost in it. He opened his eyes again, a soft but sour look back in his eyes.
“If Voldemort told you to kill me, you’d do it in a heartbeat” he said, taking the man's hand off his cheeks slowly. He said Voldemort's name without fear, Nagini notice. “I’m… The only thing I'm loyal to are my beliefs. People and snakes I love. And you’re loyal to what someone tells you to be loyal to.”
“I’ll be loyal to you, then.” Voldemort said leaning even closer, cornering Harry. Burning intensity of his magic sparkled across the room “I’ll listen to you. You’ll tell me what to believe in, who to be. Just… just…”
“You shouldn’t be owned or told what to do, Tom” Harry said, taking Voldemort’s hand. The fake name made Voldemort feel a pang in his chest “You should take your time and figure out who you are and what you need. Don’t let someone dictate that. Your free will ends where someone else's begins. Anything other than that… it’s just wrong.
He and Nagini left after that, leaving Harry, ugly lizard, and noodle behind them. Nagini couldn’t find it in herself to say anything. The look in Voldemort’s eyes showed he couldn't handle more right now.
𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙
After that, Nagini wasn’t sure what to do. She’d never admit that to Voldemort, but it turned out humans, even speakers, were more complicated than she thought. They didn’t bend when she thought they'd bend, and didn’t fall in love when she thought they would. She had to entrust this part of the story to his friend.
She was sure if her familiar was any more motivated, he’d let Harry go. Or maybe quite the opposite - kidnap Harry, brainwash him and feed him amortencia until there is no resistance or morals left.
But Voldemort cared. He cared more than he’d admit to her. And he started the changes by his closest circle.
Nagini wasn’t sure what he did, but she could sense the shift in his followers. They were busy but seemed less… frightened. Except for that fat rat. Oh, she was sure his final days were coming soon and she was salivating at the thought.
Voldemort slept less, working and meeting with people Nagini didn’t care about. Just like Harry, she didn’t bother with human politics. She listened to Voldemort rant about it sometimes, just like listening to a kid yap about their favorite dinosaur. Yes yes my dear, mhm.
But the fact that he was doing something was enough for her. It meant it was salvageable. That the mate she found for Voldemort wasn’t just in her delusions but was part of real feelings blooming in the wizard’s chest.
She missed Harry dearly. She couldn’t wait to meet him again even if it meant meeting that botched noodle who couldn’t stop bothering her. Harry was nice. Harry was warm. Harry was everything she wanted in a mate for a man like her master.
And after a couple of months, when Voldemort found her in the garden, the quiet resolve was evident in the tentacles of his magic. He collected her wordlessly and somehow, subconsciously, she knew the time came.
They apparated in the forest she knew so well by now. She glanced at her master as they walked, but he still didn’t put glamour on himself. Oh. So it really was the climax of everything they’ve worked towards. She focused on the path before them knowing she will help him as much as she can. But the last few pushes, the last few words, he had to do it himself.
They stepped into the clearing. The twilight was washing over the grass when they came here for the first time. Voldemort’s robes fluttered softly in the wind. His red eyes focused on the small hut they approached.
One, two, three soft knocks.
Harry’s eyes widened when he opened the door. He looked tired, wearing worn jeans and hairstyle reminiscent of bednest even more than usual. Noodle was on top of it all, so tangled he was barely visible and Nagini never saw it as content.
“Hello” Voldemort said quietly “I’d like you to inspect my snake.”
Harry blinked and automatically stepped back, his face frozen in an emotion Nagini didn’t know the name of. She rubbed his leg encouragingly wrapping around them both in a circle
Neither of them are running from this.
“I think your snake is healthy” Harry said quietly “What are you doing here?”
“You don’t seem surprised.” Voldemort said not breaking this soft tension between them.
Harry dropped his eyes down.
“It wasn’t hard to establish which deatheater was known for a big snake.” he said quietly. He didn't seem to want to address the fact Voldemort lied to him at all. Maybe… maybe he understood.
“Did you read the papers?” Voldemort asked, making a small step towards him.
Harry shook his head after a while “No… but the news were hard to avoid. Lord Voldemort himself, so willing to cooperate with the Ministry, didn't go unnoticed. It's all my friends talked about.”
“I’m on the path to create a world where you can just… be” Voldemort said “I’m not following anyone. This is me. I am cruel and evil. I like causing other people pain. I like… power” he finished with the glint in his eyes that Nagini knew so well. “But I liked someone more. Someone who preferred quiet life on the outskirts of civilization, who accepted me in ways no one else did. And I hope this person can accept the… sick, twisted bastard I am too. A tamed one, just for their taste.”
“I don’t…” Harry stepped closer, his hand carefully slipping onto Voldemort's slim neck, skin so similar to snakes Harry obsessed over. Nagini didn’t take into account that Voldemort’s likeness to a reptile could actually act in his advantage with someone like Harry “I don’t tame. I take care of.”
“That’s all I ask.” Said Voldemort leaning even closer, melting under Harry’s touch. Magic touch that seemingly had an effect on people too. “Please, take care of me.”
“...I don’t accept violence in my house." Harry said seriously.
“No violence in the house.”
“And I don't want you to…you know” said Harry leaning in. Nagini was impressed he was able to melt someone else like this without Legilimency or imperio. She could learn the manipulation techniques from him “Do bad stuff”
“Me? Bad stuff?” Voldemort smiled, his hands slipping around Harry's waist keeping the man close “What would my husband say?”
“I-...” Harry burned pink a bit. “I.. um… Well…”
“Well?” Voldemort teased, softly taking Noodle out of Harry’s hair.
“Let’s start with… dating” harry admitted quietly.
“As you wish” Voldemort leaned in, almost breaking his neck as he pressed a gentle kiss on the mole on Harry's neck. Nagini wasn’t sure if it was a human's mating ritual but it seemed like it.
“Nagini, go explore the garden” He commanded glancing at her.
“What for?” she hissed.
Oh.
She nodded and slipped out of the house, taking wriggling Noodle into her mouth to drag him outside too.
It seems Harry and Voldemort will try to form their own snake ball.
Part 2 with smut here because i'm not sure abt tumblr nsfw policies
She didn't seem like a dry person, on the contrary, she looked almost wet. A girl with wet character, wet eyes and wet thighs. She didn't seem to always have her eyes nor mind here, and yet another times she was so much here it made me suffocate, like she was the air before a summer storm. For a person with little character like me she was too much, and yet she seemed to constantly navigate around me like a planet. Yes, if she was a planet, she would be one of these gas giants, who take so much space and should have no attachment to any form, and yet they keep shape and place. Maybe that's why she was one of few whom i didn't expect to suddenly drop me off the boredom. No, she was worse, she cared.
