Yay, Wuko! Have fun creating!
Any questions regarding the rules and prompts, please ask!
RULES FOR PARTICIPATION:
Please use the tags #WukoWeek and/or #WukoWeek2022 so I don’t miss your posts!
You may submit any Wuko week posts until the beginning of May and I will reblog and accept in the AO3 collection.
This goes without saying, but this is a Wuko event, please can any submitted content focus on the relationship between Wu and Mako. HOWEVER, this DOES NOT have to be exclusively romantic-- you may write platonic Wuko or pre-romantic Wuko.
You can create fanfic or fanart to this event, but it can also be a headcanon post, summary of a story, joke, gifset and mood boards, tiktok dance or a full orchestral opera about wuko. There are no limits on your creativity. Only budget and time, sadly.
The daily posts must be related to the prompts. How you interpret said prompt is up to you. This event does not have to be canon-verse unless the prompt explicitly calls for a certain setting--- if you want to write Canon Divergent AUs or Modern AUs, that is fine! As long as it links back to the promp and is Wuko, then everyone is happy!
The Alternative Prompt is an prompt you can complete any day of the week instead of one of the main daily prompt.
Free Day is a day where you can create any Wuko related content you want!
You DO NOT have to create content for every day! Just do they days you can and want to complete.
Explicit content is allowed, but must be properly tagged and labelled as such and hidden behind a read more or on a separate link on twitter or AO3!
No nasty behaviour towards fans of other ships in this event! This is an event to celebrate Wuko, not to dunk on other ships for the sake of it. Let’s keep it positive!
If you ignore any of the rules regarding conduct and content I reserve the right to not accept any of your posts in the AO3 collection or to reblog onto this blog.

💚 Wuko Week: Scars 🧡
*Arrives late to the party* Hello fellow Wuko shippers! I wrote this little fic for the great @wukoweek2022 event!
San and Naoki are saved (the how I left it to their liking) and decide that Republic City is not a safe place to raise their children.
So they pack their bags and go to live in Ba Sing Se.
There, San makes the pass with his family and introduces them to his wife and children. Which are loved from the first moment.
The fact of not growing up on the streets makes Mako’s personality develop in a somewhat different way. She’s still a bit of a curmudgeon to begin with, though she’s not quite as suspicious as she was in season 1. Instead, he’s more shy and has a bit of a hard time making friends.
Unknowingly, (and in circumstances left to his imagination by great mental effort), he becomes best friends with Prince Wu, after a clumsy and troubled start.
(This brings great happiness to Grandma Yin).
When adolescence begins, Mako will live the conflict that involves being in love with Wu, being the prince of a conservative country, which is prejudiced against both homosexuals and firebenders. Not to mention, that he is the great-nephew of a tyrannical ruler.
Amid all the confusion, Mako receives a scholarship to study in the Fire Nation, so he has to say goodbye to Wu. There he meets Princess Ursa and they become friends. He meets Zuko, learns some firebending, and writes lots of letters to Wu.
When he learns of the fall of the queen and the riots in Ba Sing Se, Mako fears that Wu is dead. Luckily, he finds out that he is still alive and is in Republic City. His family has also managed to escape.
Mako then decides to study the last months of his studies in Republic City and says goodbye to Ursa and the royal family.
In Republic City, Mako is reunited with Bolin, his parents, his relatives, and Wu.
After a great reunion, Wu tells the story of how they managed to escape and that now he was the new heir to the throne. He also tells her that he needs someone who is a combination of bodyguard-friend-secretary. Mako who had studied economics, was a good fighter and was friends with Wu offered. And Wu accepts.
The time that Kuvira spends reuniting the Earth Kingdom is long enough, not only for Wu and Mako to reopen their friendship, but to leave Mako wondering whether or not her feelings are reciprocated.
When Kuvira proclaims herself emperor, Mako comforts Wu and tells him what he thinks about the monarchy. And together they begin to make a plan to regain the throne.
In the battle, Mako and Bolin, join the Avatar and destroy the colossus, with a bolt from Mako.
While they recover, it is Wu who takes care of him.
They are invited to Varriclk’s wedding (even though neither of them knows him) and, once the ceremony is over, Mako gathers his courage and tells Wu, once and for all, that he has been in love with him for a long time. weather.
Wu at first does not react and Mako thinks he has ruined things, then he realizes that Wu is crying, but before she could say anything Wu takes him by the bag and kisses him. Mako gets carried away and kisses him back.
Wu confesses that she was in love with him since she met him, and that she always believed that he did not feel the same.
Mako answers the confession by giving him another kiss, which he interrupts, to ask if he was sure he wanted to do this. (Recall that the Earth Kingdom is still conservative.) To which Wu replies that he does want to and that after what happened, he no longer cares about the risks.
They kiss again.
Se que esto es muy largo, y hay varias inconsistencias/vacíos. Sin embargo, si alguien quiere usar alguna de estas ideas, siéntase libre de hacerlo.
Google translate for the text at the end: I know this is very long, and there are several inconsistencies/gaps. However, if anyone wants to use any of these ideas, feel free to do so.
OP I sincerely apologize that this sat in my inbox for literal months. I have no excuse except real life made me forget I even had an inbox apparently!?
By what society considered a days, Wu and Mako went on dates all the time.
Dates were somehow both rare and common between Mako and Wu. Every day was a different date. Every day they went somewhere expensive and shining and alone. Most people would consider that a date but they couldn’t hold each other’s hands and whisper soft things. Most people wouldn’t consider staying inside a hotel suite a date but they did. The rare days where Wu didn’t have to show his face somewhere were the days that they considered dates.
They slept in. When they woke Mako made breakfast with Wu’s watchful eyes on him. They ate in a content silence then did their respective things. It was a lazy day. However, at night, after they’d both taken showers, was when their date began.
Wu had walked into the living area, his hair still wet from his shower and a robe loosely tied around him, and was met With Mako in the kitchen. Specifically, he’d been met with Mako making smoothies in the kitchen. Wu couldn’t help but smile when he noticed he was doing it wrong.
He walked over with his feet softly padding against the floor and leaving the faintest damp trail. He bumped his hip lightly against Mako’s and said a soft, “Let me show you how it’s done,” and he did.
Now they laid on the couch doing their respective things with the lingering taste of their smoothies on their tongues. Wu was reading a book. Mako was lying so his head barely rested on Wu’s stomach. His eyes were closed and his posture was relaxed as he simply enjoyed the sensation of Wu’s fingers shifting gently through his hair.
Mako turned his head and pressed a kiss against some of Wu’s exposed stomach. “I love you,” his said, his voice heavy, a way in which sleep coated his words.
“I loved you too,” Wu said.
Wu smiled. Most people wouldn’t consider this a date. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
Most don’t know it, or rather don’t acknowledge it, but Wu’s life was targeted for some time as the last of the Royal line. He got scars from attempts on his life, even if he refuses to acknowledge them all.
Sometimes it came in flashes of lightning. Other times it was the whole storm. Occasionally he got the warning of thunder but normally he didn’t.
He sat on his bed. The book he’d been reading merely moments before was thrown on the floor. It was like a plague. He needed to avoid it at all costs.
It had triggered this. It’d triggered these flashes. It was the feelings. All he could do was feel the feelings.
He’d read so many stories. None of them ever mentioned it could be like this. Not one said that sometimes it was all he could see, sometimes it was all he could hear, sometimes it was all he could smell, sometimes it was all he could taste, sometimes it was all he could touch, sometimes it was all he could feel, and sometimes it was a blend of a few but rarely all. The stories he’d read only ever made it seem like every part of you was transferred back, like it was all happening again. That was rarely the case.
He heard the door open after a knock. “Wu?” a voice called out.
He knew that voice. He knew it wasn’t one that hurt but his feelings didn’t correspond with his thoughts. He shook his head from where it was on his hands.
“Wu?” he felt a presence in front of him.
Once again he knew who it belonged to but his feelings only allowed him to shrink further in on himself.
He heard footsteps back away. Then it was silent. The silence remained until he was able to lift his head. He saw Mako sitting against the wall.
“Hey, big guy,” he said with a slightly shaking smile.
Mako pushed himself off the ground. “Are you okay?” he asked.
Wu simply shrugged and Mako came closer. He sat beside him on the bed and Wu leaned his head on his shoulder. Mako’s arm wrapped around him and squeezed him in a light, comforting way.
Sometimes it felt silly. Wu had been through so little compared to Mako. Only four successful kidnapping attempts. The first three before Mako was his bodyguard. The last one was no where near as bad as the others. It triggered these things much less but the first three were awful. Still, they were nothing compared to what Mako had been through. All together, they barely amounted to a week. It just felt silly to be so affected.
Mako rubbed his wrist, right over scarring from bounds tied too tightly. They were barely noticeable, just a small rise in his skin. They were still there though.
In an odd way, Wu was happy they were there. He was comforted by it. It was evidence that it had happened. It was one of the few things which refused to fully heal. He had that physical thing that didn’t heal. Even if it was just the one thing.
Mako’s hand was covered in a scar which worked its way up his arm. His own was still so small. It always felt so insignificant compared to Mako’s. Every aspect of what he’d gone through just didn’t seem to come close to what Mako had.
“Hey, are you with me?” Mako asked after some time in silence.
Wu nodded with a hum as an answer. He didn’t trust his voice. It felt like if he used it, it’d betray him and all those feelings of insignificance would spill out from between his lips.
We could do anything for today so I decided to go with @lokfeedsthegays 's amazing Miraculous AU! She has such amazing costume designs and plots thought out. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I feel like Mako had to go through some serious physical therapy to get his arm back into shape. And perhaps some of that included touching various things to test if his feeling was coming back…like maybe a prince’s hand :)
Time to catch up! I’ve been way too busy to do this but I feel bad so this is my catch-up day and I’m gonna be pushing out a flurry of these…so don’t mind me :)
Wuko Week: Day 4, Secret Relationship
‘Wu knew that eventually he’d probably have to marry some prissy aristocrat or other heir he has little-to-no feelings for. Mako knew that this was something he’d never done, and it was a little off what his job had intended.
But both had the will to draw it out and keep it secret for as long as it could. Because in their lonely lives, at least each other stuck around’.
Mako and Wu sit in the water as Mako thinks over everything which happened in only the past couple hours.
“Knock, knock,” Mako heard before the door creaked open. Wu half hid behind the door with a weak attempt at a positive smile. “How are you feeling, big guy?”
“I’d feel better if you were here with me,” he said, gesturing to the water which filled the tub. It was half a serious comment and half an attempt at getting Wu to smile. It failed on one of those aspects.
Wu didn’t need any more prompting to strip his clothing and join him in the slightly steaming water. He sank down into the opposite side of the tub. His eyes darted across every part of Mako he could clearly see. His bottom lip practically disappeared as his teeth began to worry it.
He moved to press his hand against Mako’s skin but drew his hand back before it could make content. “How bad does it hurt?” he asked.
“I’m really just a little bit sore. There’s nothing to worry about. I’m fine,” Mako promised but Wu didn’t ease.
Instead he stared at his torso and continued to worry at his lip. “But you almost weren’t,” he said. His voice came out in something barely above a whisper.
“But I am,” he told him. He extended his arm, “Come here, please.” Numbly Wu followed the order though he was careful about avoiding any bruised or tender spots that Mako may have.
He wrapped his arms around Wu and felt like for the first time in hours he could finally relax. The attack had been. . . far from the worst but definitely not the easiest to ward off. His job was simple. He had to protect the prince. His motives were simple. He had to protect Wu. He may have some bruises and a new scar to add to the list but Wu was safe. That was all that truly mattered.
He pressed his nose into Wu’s ridiculously thick hair which took an equally as ridiculous amount of product to style. Wu smelled like sandalwood and lychee nuts. It’d become one of Mako’s favorite smells and it felt like it’d been ions since he’d been able to bask in it.
He squeezed him ever so slightly tighter, bringing him ever so slightly closer. It seemed like Wu wasn’t close enough and like there was no physical way from him to be closer. His arms were thrown around Mako’s shoulders. His head was pressed in the crook of his neck. Their torsos were pressed against each other. Their legs were intertwined. There really wasn’t a way for them to be closer than they already were. Still, it didn’t feel like enough.
Maybe it was because some of their precious hours they spent hidden away were stolen by the attack. It’d happened so late. Mako was in a healing center all night dealing with aches and pains. The long slash over his chest was not the only cut but it was by far the worst. The bruises on his skin were also just some of many but they were the ones which caused him the least damage so the attention of the healers went to different places. Wu had been at the station, protected by Chief Beifong herself, as he’d been questioned. Of course, this was after he’d been cleared by the healers.
It’d been hours since they’d seen each other when they were used to spending every second of every day together. It’d been a realization for Mako. They spent so much time together and these hours apart had been stress wracking for more reasons than just the attack. It’d been because they weren’t together, just in general. Mako couldn’t help but wonder if their worries passed off as employee and boss. That was likely not the case. Had they passed off as just worries of friends? He prayed they did because if anyone found out he’d be out of a job. Call Mako paranoid or controlling but he trusted no one else with the job of Wu’s protection. He barely trusted Lin enough to do it. Any other person and Mako wouldn’t do anything useful with his days as he’d be far too caught up in his anxieties and worries.
He did his best to push that from his mind. It was said and done now. There was nothing they could change.
He felt Wu’s lips press against his neck. He tightened his hold. Hidden or not, he was home.
