uh, well i know it wasn’t me, and usually, victims are murdered by someone close to them, and going by statistics, the killer is most likely to be a male, so... it could be one of his male friends? or maybe a boyfriend of one of the girls he was cheating with?

god this is going to make me look so suspicious, but i swear to god i have nothing to do with dante, you know.... but uh, my favorite is the jeffrey dahmer files, just because it’s interesting to learn about a person who is NOTHING like me.

He waits until they’re outside, out of hearing to answer his question. “Not particularly no but if I was to point out fingers, my first suspicion would be on someone he wronged which is a lot of people then, on one of his friend–they’re all as power hungry as Dante was and what easier way to reach the top than getting rid of the king.”

“Because you’re as stubborn as a mule and refuse to take it’s advice to heart, Alek,” he counters. “I’m not letting it dictate my every move, I just use it to my advantage, is all. I guess I can’t blame you for being skeptic, since you are Capricorn.” The boy doesn’t argue his friend when he suggests they leave the diner, though a slight frown etches into his features when Alek pays for the both of them without even asking. It’s not like he doesn’t appreciate the friendly gesture, it just makes him feel a bit uncomfortable. However, he’s too much of a coward to speak up and possibly risk an argument, so without saying a word, he follows Alek outside. “Oh, so you also think the Windsors did it?” It wasn’t the first time he had heard that theory, but Wesley wasn’t fully sold on it. Yes, they were cruel and ruthless, but killing their own friend? That was like a whole other level of evil.  “Do you think it’s all of them then? Or just Lysander and Araminta?”

“I know we didn’t do anything, but sometimes evidence get tampered with, or they’ll pressure you to confess by going good cop, bad cop on you until you slip up!” he explained, sweating bullets. “Okay, yea, that is true, but the Windsor are manipulative and cunning, and I’m not, Mars. They’ll point the cops in my direction, for sure, and then it will be all over for me, he sighed deeply, giving her a defeated look. “If... When I get thrown in jail, do you promise you’ll update Rose on everything? I don’t want her to think I’ve abandoned her or something.”

Gillian laughed softly. “Trust me, I don’t think anybody suspects you of having anything to do with that,” she said. “Dante had a lot of enemies, and you’re probably one of his least dangerous ones.” If Gillian had to guess, she would probably say that Dante was killed by one of his own Windsors. They certainly seemed the most capable of any wrongdoing.

“Do you really think the Windsors killed Dante? That they just conspired against their leader and...” It was hard for him to wrap his mind around it., Dante was still their friend, wasn’t he? Power and popularity couldn’t possibly be worth that much to then, that they’d go through such lengths to gain more of it. “I don’t know. It’s usually the spouse, or a jealous ex, or... Um, wait, I’m not saying you did it! I just mean like, hypothetically!”

Her tone was relatively light for such a serious matter, but her own thoughts were not so carefree. With the case being reopened, she’s had to revisit some memories, wondering if Dante’s ever told her anything that could have been a hint. “What’s your sign again?”

“Isn’t there always a reason to worry? There are so many things happening around us, things that are out of our control. It’s rather daunting, don’t you think?” Wesley rambled on, awkwardly wiping his bangs from his face. “Me? Oh, I’m a Sagittarius. Why do you ask?”

jisung let out a small smile as he approached wesley, plopping down into the seat next to him. “hey cutie, what are you up to?” he asked, looking down at what the other was doing, before glancing around to see if anyone noticed him there.

Wesley immediately tensed up when the other plopped down beside him. Though he had heard rumors about Jisung leaving the inner circle due to the fact that he wasn’t picked for the Windsors, the Nietzsche made sure to keep his guard up around him. After all, this guy was referred to as Dante Jr. for a reason, which meant that he couldn’t be trusted. “Cutie?” His cheeks colored faintly pink as he turned his head toward Jisung and met his gaze, confusion written all over the boy’s face. “I... nothing.” In a swift movement, he closed the lid of his laptop. “Just working on stuff. Work stuff.”

Nicole looked over, surprised that someone was talking to her. Better yet, it was one of those Nietzsche losers. She had honestly thought that she wouldn’t have to deal with them until school started but she was wrong. It didn’t matter anyway, she could play nice. She put on a sympathetic face and got closer to him.” Whoever thinks that you had something to do with Dante is an idiot. I’m sure you wouldn’t hurt a fly. You shouldn’t worry so much about what other people think of you Wesley.” She said soothingly, putting her hand on his shoulder to comfort him. 

“Yeah, neither did Norman Bates at the ending of Psycho, but we all know what a monster he was,” Wesley pointed out, before realizing that he was unintentionally incriminating himself. “Not me, though! Definitely not me, I would never!” he assured, shaking his head firmly. His shoulders tense up as the girl gently places her hand on them. Physical affection isn’t some he’s used to receiving from his classmates, so the gesture just confuses him. “I... guess so?” he frowned. “I don’t know how am I supposed to do that, though. Not worry about what other think, I mean.”

“Wait, what?” Wesley frowned in confusion. It took him a few seconds to get the joke. “Ha-ha. Very funny, Mars. I’m serious, though. Like, we have a huge motive, so people are going to point the finger at us, you know? Mostly at me, probably, because statistically, most murders are committed by males,” he explained, his eyes wide with fear. “I didn’t do it, though! Cross my heart, I had nothing to do with it!”

“The next time I’m getting my hands on your phone, I’m deleting that stupid app,” he warns him before he roams the room with his eyes to check if people were looking their ways and except for a teenager a few tables over intensely checking Wesley out, that blushes bright red when she notices Alek looking her way, everyone is minding their business. “No one is giving you looks, Wes but we can leave if you feel uncomfortable being out now.” 

“Hey, it’s not a stupid app! Don’t you remember that one time? ‘Capricorn, watch out for the color ‘red’?’ A few hours later in the cafetaria, Lysander Seo shot out his foot to let Jody Muldofsky stumble, and her cherry slushy spilled all over your jacket!” Wesley pointed out, defensively. Admittedly, he was a little bit on edge, but who wouldn’t be after finding out that one of your classmates was murdered? “I don’t know. I guess I shouldn’t hide myself, but I kind of want to,” he confesses, chewing on his bottom lip. “Okay, if not me, who do you think did it then? I’m sure you must be thinking about Dante right now too, Alek.”

“ trust me, there is nothing wrong with being nice. it’s definitely a compliment. “ noel assured wesley, not wanting him to think he was judging him. he pushed his hair back with wide eyes as wesley talked about his crime shows and a possible motive. “ alright, a bit of advice? never go into a police instigation. i think you might admit everything and more that you haven’t even done. also, in the height of this drama, maybe don’t tell people that you have a motive and like crime shows. i know it’s true, but it looks quite suspicious, “ noel laughed softly so wesley would know he wasn’t insulting him. he’d had his awkward, shy, rambling conversations, so he sure wasn’t going to judge the other’s. 

“What about that saying, though? Nice guys finish last?” Wesley definitely felt there was a lot of truth in that, but he just didn’t have it in him to be like The Windsors, even though their horrible behavior only seemed to benefit them. “I don’t want to make myself look suspicious! I just meant to say, like, it’s obvious to everyone that I do have a motive? Dante made my life a living hell for almost three years, you know...” he sighs, slumping his shoulders. “Who else are they going to point the finger at?” Dark brows knitted together thoughtfully, before answering his own question. “Actually, most murders are committed by someone close to the victim, and I guess his girlfriend has a big motive too, because he cheated on her. Or maybe it was uh, one of his lovers. It could have been a crime of passion.”
