Is this person I met yesterday my friend? What about this person I've been talking to every day for three months? What about this person I've known since middle school? Is friend a title I have to earn? What are the limits of friendship? Is it a static state, make-or-break, or is it some endless dance-dance-revolution style cavalcade of prompts and challenges and social cues I have to hit perfectly to keep it up? Does it bend? I think my sister's dog (German Shep mix) understands the concept of deception?? And uses it to her advantage???

This dog will whine at the door as if she needs to go out, then when you get up to let her out, she runs back past you and steals your spot on the sofa. My sister also taught her the trick "clean up": the dog goes around the apartment and picks up any trash she finds and brings it to my sister in exchange for a treat.

However.

The dog understands that 1 piece of trash = 1 treat.

So the dog starts coming up to my sister with small scraps of napkins. My sister gives her a treat, dog goes away, then comes back maybe 15 min later with more trash.

Where was the trash coming from? my sister says. I thought the apartment was clean.

There was collection of trash stashed under the dog's bed. The dog had been systematically tearing napkins and plastic into smaller pieces and giving those, one by one, to my sister, multiplying the number of treats she got.

So this dog understands 1) lying and 2) math

Oh, Creed figured out that if he gave me my wallet I would give him a treat. So he started stealing my wallet from where I keep it, walking away with it, turning around, and bringing it to me, so that he could get a treat. Sometimes dogs are a little too smart.

blorbo brain is literally so funny I love it bc you'll listen to a song you like and be like "omg this is literally blorbo" and then make your besties who think of blorbo the same way you do listen to it and they'll be like "omg this is literally blorbo" whole time the song is not about blorbo and if you made anyone else listen to it they'd be like "wtf this is not blorbo you guys are insane" but it's blorbo
