"Oh, sorry. Is this your dog? She looked lonely and like she needed cuddles. I can get off."
"Oh no, you're good. I don't know whose dog that is but I'm sure she appreciates the love."
Plenty more people make fun of it rather than support it, so.
Well of course no one wants to be the one being laughed at so they deflect it.
"Weak ankles suck," I cry into the wind.
Nice to know someone can relate.
I'm the definition of lanky sometime. Weak ankles are only part of the problem. I don't think you'd ever be alone in that.
If I could go one day without falling all over myself, that would be fantastic.
Join the club.
Yeah, I know. I get that. I have nothing against less clothes on girls but its just the way some of the think. Like the less clothes they wear the sexier they are and that is not true.
I get your point. Some people take what the media and masses feed them and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that. Some people feel sexy with no clothes on while others are all good wearing a onesie like myself.
I’m sorry it was not supposed to be a generalization of girls.
I mean you did say girls so one assumes it's all girls. Some of us have trouble wearing a bikini in public so no need. Why the sudden hated for lack of clothing?
Seriously, why do girls think when they were less clothes they are sexy?
That's a generalization, sir. Some of us like clothes.
He crouched down, pulling out a credit card. He swiftly slipped it between the door and frame. “They live.” He said, pulling the down open with ease. “There you go, love.” He grinned.
Lionel could be heard from the otherside, growling and barking as the door open. The moment Avery came into view he let out a whine and began wagging his tail. She looked both ways to make sure no doors had flown open upon their arrival. Luckily everyone seemed to be far to busy to go out of their way to complain today. Avery pulled the umbrella down, tossing it onto the row of hooks near the door. "Thank you. I really do appreciate it. About as much as I would appreciate you never doing that again unless I'm locked out or dying in a fire." An embarrassed laugh left her lips as she turned to face him fully. "God forbid that ever happen. But I should probably get in and feed Lionel before he tears up the couch. You can... come in if you like. Dry off a bit."
"It’s only awkward for you. I dot mind discussing it." He said with a shrug. Nate was glad she’d let him get the door open. "Okay come on."
She sighed, not attempting to explain what she was trying to get at. Moving towards him she lifted her umbrella over them both, walking close to him. "My neighbors are going to freak though."
"Don’t be." He shook his head. "You would never be the cause for that. Ever." He told her honestly. "I wish you’d get that. But we’ll avoid this if you want." He said. "Now can I please get you inside and I’ll deal with whatever your bitch neighbors say."
"It's hard to believe when I always make things awkward." She nodded, pushing a strand of wet hair behind her ear. "Yeah. Might as well before I'm more water than human."
He smiles. “There. Happy.”
"I'm sorry." She frowned, allowing her umbrella to fall in her hands. She stood there looking him over before taking a step towards him. "I want you to be really happy. Not that fake happy to make Avery feel better happy. And that's why I've been trying to avoid it. It's not going to work and I don't want to be another reason you aren't happy or believe you aren't good enough."
You want my put on a fake smile?
No. I want you to be happy.
Yeah sure.
Stop it with the sour face. You know that's true or else things would be different.
Right..Sorry..
But you'll have someone and I'll be your friend. That's how it goes.
You’re shitting me right? First of all you are hot, and you can be sexy. Second I find you very interesting, and I like that you do those things. It makes you, you. Third, you are fucking special don’t give me that crap. And lastly I happen to like that you’re a dork, and love-able.
I just told you what I thought. Doesn't change a thing about what's happening. Just made it more... painful in a way.
Why do you think that? Be honest with me, no bullshit. None of that “I’m awkward” thing. As one of my cloest friends tell me why you think that, because that’s bullocks to me.
I'm not hot. I'm not sexy. God- I'm hardly interesting. I'm a plain girl who spends half of her time either cramped in a practice room or over a laptop. I'm not anything special or a one night stand. I'm just Avery. Love-able, dorky Avery.
If I wasn’t an ass, would it work on you, love?
You being an asshole was never a problem. You being either invested in someone else or something else. I'm just not your type and I get it. You're trying to be a good friend either way.
