immediately after this moment I was like #FAVE
wolf’s rain + wolf pupy 1/?
darling boy, your shoulders may be broad but there are only so many crosses you can bear before you break;
evolutionary-fear:
“Is there any particular reason you’ve chosen to follow me, Lilynette?”
There he stood, hands in his pockets, standing behind the young Arrancar as she peeked around the corner he’s just rounded to catch a glimpse of her God-King about his daily business. Aizen knew full well she was merely being curious as to what an enigma such as himself would be up to, and being a child of course she would follow without considering what consequences may be given to her.
She should be glad he was in a forgiving mood.
Perhaps he should have allowed her the thrill of the hunt a few moments longer, like teaching a pup the rules of the forest before allowing it anywhere near a true kill of its own. Although, he supposed that was Starrk’s business.
“Starrk must be sleeping if you’re all the way out here.”
“---!!!”
There was no hiding the way she startled- the guilty jump of her shoulders as his smooth voice sounded from behind her- but at the very least she was quick to respond, all but leaping in surprise as she whirled on her heel to face the man she had just seen round this very corner not a fraction of a second earlier. How had he- !? When had he- !?!? No sonido, or shunpo, or anything could move that fast, she was sure, and as soon as the momentary shock was done she allowed herself a moment to marvel at the blinding speed with with he must have moved. Immediately after, she remembered how rude it was for her to have not yet responded to the questions of their leader.
“Aizen sama! N-no, I wasn’t following you-” not at the start, anyway, “-I was just..... Starrk’s been sleeping all afternoon.” She’d been bored.

14/30 The Fallen Keep
desolatelobos:
Sure enough Starrk was there in the room when she arrived, and upon seeing her he immediately goes to reach for her, but fails as he ends up collapsing back into his original position, his body throbbing in pain and his mind overwhelmed by sorrow and dread. But he kept on ‘clawing’ at the ground in a pathetic attempt to get closer, which didn’t seem to be working.
She was by his side in a fraction of a second, arms wound as tightly around her other half’s chest as she could manage, legs bracing against the floor with every intention of hefting the Espada up onto his knees so that she could hold him better. She felt it as heavy as the air around them, that despair bringing Starrk to the floor, but she couldn’t let herself succumb to it as well- she couldn’t. He needed her, and while he was always the stronger of the two, right now she was the one they were depending on.
“Starrk,” she murmured, voice low as she pressed her face to dark hair, tightly wound arms squeezing even harder, as though the arrancar were able to press her love- her adoration, her companionship- into his very being with the action alone. “I’m here, I’m here...”
strcngered:
“Quite bold of you to assume I want you in my lab, Lilynette.” Starrk was a different question, but Szayelaporro didn’t trust the brat to behave herself in his lab. It was in her nature to misbehave, he couldn’t expect her to be better than that. He could fix that, but Starrk gave him a weird look the last time he offered. So the scientist kept that to himself.
“Another bold assumption. I’m not trying to fool anyone. Your joint strength has me genuinely curious. You should be flattered.”
.....Well, she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t, in the slightest bit, flattered by Szayel’s attention. Being only a fraction of an Espada quite often left Lilynette far from the limelight, and being such a small arrancar put her among the bottom of even the lowliest Fraccione as well. She was, to put it simply, wildly overlooked despite her incredibly loud personality, and honestly, the fact that she had anyone to talk to while Starrk napped was at least giving her something to do.
“Yeah, well,” Huffing, she glanced to the side, unwilling to display any interest in the conversation despite maintaining it willingly. “Me’n Stark are different to the rest of you.”
bravxryy:
THE moments after she’d sent that message ticked by in a slow haze… More than once she’d unlocked her phone with the intention of texting again, of apologizing again, of saying something more than the nothing she did to make him understand that her actions hadn’t been about HIM;; but each time she did, the phone timed out. Staring at the screen did nothing to help put into words what was going on – the regret was not something that she could define in the brief expanse of a text, nor was the desperation to get away from the things crushing her in Nevada!! IN the end there was nothing more she could say;; it was his turn now, to either accept her and forgive her (( or at least to offer her the chance to beg forgiveness )) or to ignore her and shun her for the pain she’d caused him… Maka couldn’t have blamed him either way… Still, the next 24 hours dragged on and on, seemingly to know end. She tired to distract her mind by filling in the world with the things she loved – the free museums in D.C. were some of the most encompassing that she knew of and wandering those halls, once upon a time, was all she needed to escape the profound trappings of her mind – but nothing seemed to dull the fretting in her mind. WHEN the time finally came to head to the park it seemed like she couldn’t carry herself that fast enough;; suddenly the world around her seemed full of things that offered BRILLIANT excuses!! Sorry BlackStar – I couldn’t make it because the cherry blossoms were starting to bloom and I wanted to count the flowers on each tree!! Yes… That seemed valid enough… But her steps continued onward until she felt the lush green beneath her feet, a stark difference to the concrete of the paths from her hotel. Her emerald hues scanned the expanse of her their childhood space, noting the trees that had once been drastically shorter and the new benches that had been provided – and then her eyes laid on him… She saw him sitting there alone, awkward in the space and appearing to fight some war within himself – a war that she likely caused… Suddenly the dragging of the clock felt like a CRUEL trick – like no time at all had passed and she was left wishing for MORE and MORE!! Each step she took was leaden, more of an involuntary action that a fruition of her free will;; What would she say to him?? How did this conversation begin?! Silence and humility seemed far the better answer, and when she sat down at the opposite end of the bench he claimed, that was what she offered:: SILENCE…
Though he wasn’t particularly gifted at sensing souls ( who needed such an ability when you were as awesome as he was in every other aspect of fighting??? ) he’d have had to be dead not to sense that of his friend approaching, no matter how uncharacteristically tiny and pitiful she seemed to be carrying it. Feh. It didn’t sit well with him; not one little bit.
Black★Star couldn’t really remember just how long exactly Maka had been away, swanning off with no contact like the damn act was hereditary or some shit- because time didn’t mean much to someone who lived his incredible life outside the boundaries of it- but he hadn’t exactly been blind to her absence, either. She’d been gone a long time- too long to be gone without so much as picking up her phone. Long enough that chatter about her had idled off into nonexistence. Long enough that he’d go a day, maybe two, without explicitly thinking about her in more than fleeting passing. Long enough that he no longer automatically sought her face in their crowd whenever the rest of them met, be it for food or training or their traditional weekly basketball games that Maka had never been a part of because she hadn’t been around for the beginning of them.
Shit.
He had too much he wanted to say; she’d been gone for too long, but not long enough for him to have figured his damn emotions out into a comprehensible, straight line.
But then again, he supposed, he’d never really been the kind of person to think before he acted.
A snort left him at the sight of his friend- at Maka Albarn, a three-star meister who had punched a god in the face- and he let instinct take the wheel, crossing his arms over his chest derisively and fixating the meister before him with an almost characteristically theatrical scowl.
“Well, it took ya long enough!”
"I've come to recruit you to our rebellion! Down with the Shogun!"
“Down with.... what??” What the hell was a Shogun? And what the hell was THAT!? It sure as heck wasn’t a hollow, but it definitely wasn’t a shinigami either. It was just some tiny little.... furry thing. Talking to her.
Vaguely, she wondered whether it was edible.
