I ain't tagging main or other side blogs, but my art blog is wyvolf-art. I enjoy the wreckers. I miss Rotorstorm.
Other important notes: call me Gun, my pronouns are he/jet/it, I'm in my late 20s, and complexly queer.
I enjoy: IDW, energon universe, unicron trilogy, G1, TFAnimated, Robots in Disguise 2001, love hate relationship with Bayverse, and I enjoyed EarthSpark, Cyberverse, and TFPrime.
I grew up around TF thanks to my dad, I was raised mostly on the original G1 cartoon, TFA, and Bayverse, so these three have the most sentimental connection I have. I started collecting the figures only in 2025, which kicking myself for not starting earlier in my life.

My Transformers Skybound Issue 34 Ramble, spoilers ahead if you care.
It's... I don't know all I can say is that this issue is weak compared to the last one.
More stuff under the cut, again spoilers warning!
I don't care much about the Army Flagg guy or whatever plotline, I just do not care. But what I do care about is Thundercracker and the Aerialbots interacting some more;
And while it is nice, I feel like there is so much more to see, I want to see Thundercracker's chemistry with the Aerialbots individually. How does Silverbolt, Skydive(?), Fireflight and Air Raid interact with him alone? I want to see more, I want to see actual personality.
I do not mind if Thundercracker becomes this like older brother figure to them, but I want to see it earned. I still want to see at least at the very minimum one panel where the Aerialbots are grieving for Slingshot - I want to see their anger.
But as said, it is nice to see them interacting more. But I want More Justification for the eventual combining.
Before I get to the main meat of it (with the Combaticons) can I just say it is nice seeing a G1 only villain (as far as I am aware, no clue if the guy showed up in the Marvel Comics yet) in the comics.
As said I do not care about the army plot line, so I did actually cheer a little. But I do not know, Arkeville here is feeling like an annoying quick one shot side antagonist rather than an actual threat.
But I am curious to see where the story heads with him. But I can see the main thing is likely going to be: Arkeville betrays Flagg and by Extension the autobots.
I don't know, I know its foreshadowing probably but lol.
Moving on, the Combaticons getting more page time is also nice!
Swindle looks a little goofy but I am just gonna say its odd lighting.
But this section of the issue just. This is where I have my biggest issue in this issue, and Energon Universe as a whole (particularly with the Transformers portion, as I am enjoying the G.I Joe and Void Rivals stuff), Kirkman does not know how to write combiners that isn't the basis. I am getting ahead of myself,
I love when they give Transformers muzzles, I think its very Critter and Awesome actually,
But this is where my main issue comes in. I get Shredhead is like this new blood young soldier who believes they can take on anything and I get that. However, it gets very - I don't know just. I know its war, people die in war, people get seriously hurt in war.
As much as this panel fucks, and it is very Bruticus to me, I did frown a little when I see it is Shredhead getting fucked up. Beaten to a pulp. Happens. It is what happens after.
Bruticus gets easily taken out by Cliffjumper, which ballsy. I just do not get how a headshot like this by the looks can affect Onslaught the most. I get the destablization of the combiner where they de-combine
Maybe I am stupid but I do not get how Shredheads sword managed to get Onslaught like that, and NGL I will be very pissed if Onslaught is confirmed to be dead. At the most I am hoping he's just seriously injured but alive.
Same with Shredhead. In a way I do hope this humbles them, but at the same time seeing an original character to the Energon Universe just die would suck.
Generally this issue feels a lot weaker compared to the previous issue and to me at least having every 2nd issue to be actually good (of course has its own set of issues but to me didn't feel super glaring), this issue is just. Mid. It is not this horrific thing that puts me off reading though, I am curious to see where it goes next but the writing feels. Off.
Which is odd, I liked Void Rivals which is a Kirkman original, and from what little work I have read he does like making stories and while I did like bits of Invincible, and I have liked some aspects of Kirkmans work for Transformers.
I won't say I could write something better. I can't. I just wished there was more polish to the writing as I mentioned previously I think there are some good ideas but its just executed poorly or done in this awkward way. The writing in this issue just seems awkward at best and just questionable. I feel Kirkman needs a secondary or even a third writer to help ground things better.
Still, I am curious to see what happens next. As said, unless there is something so egregious that actually puts me off from reading I will continue to read the series, and I do aim to buy the volumes when they come out (rather than individual issues).
While I am excited for Superion w/Thundercracker, I hope the combining fails.
Skybound / Transformers Energon Universe has a lot of pacing issues this is nothing knew, but I feel like we should see way more scenes between TC and the Aerialbot's and as of posting this we have at least two issues to set up Superion w/Thundercracker.
Even still I want it to fail. I don't know what Energon Universe plans to do with combiners yet and how things work, so this might be all incorrect.
In Issue 33 we did get to see some interaction, it was nice.
But as said I need to see some more interaction where it does feel more justified to happen. And as far as I am concerned: the enigma of combination does not exist (as of this issue)
I want to see the horror of combining to an entity made of several minds, the single competent of Superion reacting to this new influence, dare I say: I don't want TC to have an immediate connection to being part of the team, I want the inner communication to be dull for TC where he can't hear or sense much of anything.
Or at least in the mindscape he is told to shut up and just Be An Arm, the horror of hearing multiple voices of very differing thoughts and being the new component, maybe even the disgust from Superion themselves. Maybe even after whatever is dealt with or the training for it is over TC gets ejected. I want trial and error.
(I am slightly imprinting with being a system and plurality to help make sense of how combiners work, because to me at least combiners have mad plural vibes - again to me at least. and i'm #imprinting)
But I do not think it will happen, but I still want it to fail. I want to see actual build up with Thundercracker's relationship with the Aerialbots. I want to see him talk with them more, I want to see the raw emotions. Maybe even feeling those raw emotions in any sort of mindscape (if its canon to EU like how it is similar to the IDW line, y'know those panels with Optimus & Prowl ft. Sunstreaker and Ironhide(?) i forgot)
It sucks I know it likely won't happen, or at least even attempt to explore such themes. But I would be very surprised. We have two more issues to like show some more interactions and justification). But I don't think I really trust Kirkman for exploring it, and while I know there is like time restraints from whatever higher up and how shotty some writings from Kirkman are. yeah I might have better chances at winning the jackpot on the pokies.
Although, for one of the alt G.I Joe covers for issue 23 they are implying *something* but it isn't exactly enough IMO.

Still excited but I feel there is need for justification. Oddly, I know combiners at least in EU can form while missing parts, just very handicapped like in Issue 29 with Devastator still being formed with just Hook, Scavenger and Bonecrusher
But I imagine its different when a component is dead (RIP Slingshot, wished authors treated you better) where formation is either difficult to maintain and uncomfortable.
I'm theorizing here of course. Who the fuck knows. I surely don't. Posting from my tf focused side blog for this yay.
Being in several Transformers focused facebook groups is surely something, while there are good ones that are actually normal (shout out to Transformers Botposting) but some facebook groups are an utter mess.

All usually the same brand, while it isn't all of them it certainly is very funny (and concerning) seeing the same general 30-40+ year olds who are GeeWunners who hate any new transformers show because of "woke" or whatever the fuck.
If I had a dollar everytime I see the same general white bald man bitching about how there canonically trans transformers, I think I could buy myself a brand new top of the line car.

big fan of artists and writers who make cybertronians have very expressive audials / finials (or whatever the term) like cats. i love when artists and writers make Optimus Prime's huge "ears" twitch and move, it's so awesome.
or even other more subtle body language; engine revving, panels moving (like in the wfc/foc games), and a bunch of other cues.
keep doing it forever
