From Victor, he gains an optimistic, hardworking spirit. Hector genuinely enjoys helping people and rarely complains, even when life becomes difficult. He has a gift for encouraging others through kindness instead of criticism.

Growing up in the Bronx, Hector always admired his dad Nestor Ayala, believing him to be simply an exemplary police officer.
One day, Hector unexpectedly received a package mailed from Puerto Rico. Inside was the ancient Tiger Amulet, accompanied by a brief letter from Nestor urging him to use its power with compassion.
Moments later, agents pursuing the amulet caught up with Hector. During the ensuing chaos, the amulet bonded to him, transforming him into the second White Tiger, much like his classic Earth-616 origin.
Only later did Hector learn that Nestor had been murdered by Kraven the Hunter and his ward Tahkar after refusing to surrender the amulet.
Determined to honor Nestor's sacrifice, Hector embraced the White Tiger mantle while continuing his studies at college.

While attending Empire State University, Hector became close friends with Peter Parker.

Nearly every weekend, the two would disappear for "study breaks" that secretly became lighthearted crime-fighting adventures across New York. Their teamwork developed an easy rhythmâPeter's quick thinking and scientific creativity complementing Hector's calm judgment and disciplined fighting style. To them, it often felt like the kind of colorful Saturday morning adventure they both secretly enjoyed.
Outside their heroic lives, Peter repaid Hector's support by tutoring him in subjects that proved challenging, particularly advanced chemistry and physics.

Hector had uncovered evidence pointing toward Kraven the Hunterâthe same man responsible for Nestor's death.
The evening before Hector left to continue the hunt, Peter met him one final time.
Rather than trying to stop him, Peter simply embraced his friend with Hector even saying:
"No matter where justice leads us, remember that the people we protect are worth every sacrifice."
Peter thanked Hector for years of friendship, guidance, and unwavering loyalty. The two parted with the promise that they would see each other again. Sadly, they never did.
Shortly afterward, Hector confronted Kraven himself in an effort to prevent further bloodshed. Although he fought with extraordinary courage, he ultimately fell in battle, sacrificing himself to protect innocent lives and ensure the White Tiger legacy endured.
Before his death, Hector entrusted the Tiger Amulet to his beloved daughter, Ava Ayala.
He believed Ava possessed the compassion, courage, and humility that had defined both Nestor and himself. His final wish was never for revenge against Kraven, but for the White Tiger to remain a symbol of hope.
Ava accepted both the amulet and the responsibility it carried, becoming the third White Tiger and continuing the Ayala family's tradition of protecting those who could not protect themselves.
