Babess, how are the quail doing?? Just remembered the little ones 🤍

the coop is almost done being built and the younger ones almost have all of their adult feathers grown in and should be crowing soon so we’ll be able to tell which ones are males!!

I was planning on waiting to respond to this until the coop was fully built so I could include some pictures but somehow one of the older quail injured its neck badly on a plank of wood and we have her isolated for now, we’re hoping she’ll be okay but the wound looks pretty bad & we’re not sure how it happened or if it’ll end up healing good enough🙁🙁 I’ll post another update on her and the coop soon hopefully

UPDATE!!!!

Quail pen is fully built and the older ones and the younger ones are in it and having the time of their lives!!

Also the one with the injury turned out to be male and he is healing well!!!! It is entirely scabbed over and he is very energetic

yes!! We (my moms bf) are building a coop for them and they’ll live outside after that 🥹 soon we should be able to tell the older one’s genders!!!!!!

immediately started following you after the quails! I once had one in my house and let me tell you, if you helped them hatch they think you're their mommy bc of heath, it's called imprinting 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

the quails already grown up so much and their big feathers have started to grow in and they’re so pretty🤍🤍 so excited to see their patterns when they get older!!!!

we hatched quail at my house and they’re so small I can fit like six of them into my hand 💔 but I am trying to sleep and ONE of them. I know who it is. Is chirping so loud I can hear it from DOWNSTAIRS IN MY ROOM WITH THE DOOR CLOSED!!
