no sideblogs, we chaotically cram our personal posts, aesthetic posts, and 800 hyperfixations into one blog like men
Tumblr old, here to yell into the void about all my sundry fandoms. Current hyperfixation is Linked Universe, but expect to see a bunch of different things on any given day. Love chatting with people, feel free to hit up my DMs or askbox anytime.
They are both dorks and they make me sick I love them so much 💕 I’ve been meaning to draw more of Aurora since my first concept sketch and so this little scenario was born. A little random doodle that evolved into some sort of comic…thing?
Uno reverse! How does the parasite and Four work in your space au and how do the rest of the chain feel about it?
Little doodle for your trouble and rambling under the cut :)
(pose is heavily referenced from dungeon meshi chapter 93)
The parasites pretty much work like the colours here! At first they're very much red green blue vio and completely take four's place. They're not suuuper related to him at first but eventually they start to blend in with him, taking his experiences and personality traits for their own and acting as an insight into his personality & inner monologue. Once four's back in the wheel they're waaay more like how they are in canon and are more background noise that stays pretty dormant unless something happens (like they get too close to the hive planet and start feeling the other parasites' presences). Before the parasite latched onto four they all controlled a king gleeok and had power over all their respective elements. They were an outlier as they were multiple buggies fused into one big parasite and Four is one of the only known humans to actually be able to handle multiple different parasites without dying.
Now as for everyone's opinions:
Sky: as four's childhood friend and one of the people closer to him, he absolutely haaaates the parasite (might just refer to them as the colours?), especially how they take parts of him and make them their own. Four has also expressed his anxiety about it to him. Sky would absolutely destroy the entire hive if it didn't have the possibility to kill four.
Warriors: he has the most negative outlook on the parasite, believing that it'll lead to Four becoming a traitor. Which is honestly COMPLETELY FAIR at this point given the colours',,,cough cough,,,negative views to the chain at first. He does Not want to become assimilated but is also really worried for his friend. Has tried an impromptu medical operation to get it de-attached from four's brain and it failed drastically.
Time: sort of gets it since he's got a whole symbiosis thing with the Fierce Deity going on. He wants to respect Four's choices, but on the other hand is extremely uneasy about the whole thing. He loves four but isn't as close with him as sky so he's less emotionally-driven and more worrying about the mission and rest of the team getting disrupted.
Wind: Doesn't reeeally have the maturity to grasp exactly what's going on (and has been pretty sheltered from it). He's kindest to the colours and wants to get along with them, and has a habit of being a little insensitive towards four's situation and getting himself into trouble. Four appreciates his positive outlook but is also sick of people trying to make light of a situation where his brain is being irreversibly damaged and his body is being controlled.
Hyrule: secretly wants to get a good look at the thing. He doesn't think the hive is evil, more morally grey, but is also okay with hurting four if it means getting it out.
Wild: reeeally doesn't like how spidery they are and can relate to four about feeling disconnected to his past self. They can relate to each other well!! His opinion drastically lowers after four's hive planet incident
Twilight: mostly negative but once again he's got the wolf so he can't judge too hard (?). He just wants to look after four and makes sure he doesn't get hurt (sorry twi but I'm gonna hurt him lol)
Legend: VERY anti parasite and doesn't hide it-- except when he's around four. He's snarky at first but once things get ~worse~ they all lose whatever humour they can get from the situation. He's gonna get something palace of the four sword-y later on so take that as you will.
Four's opinion on the parasite gets more positive as he goes on but it's laced with terror given that he has no idea whether or not its his own opinion or the colours'. Yay
For anyone who wants to read how four (and everyone ???) reacts to the parasite i made a little fic about it :))) sadly theres not actually much four there..sobs..

im so done with seeing articles about kids and screen time that doesnt mention parent behaviors even once. “kids are always on their phones” so are the parents! which the kids look to for how they should behave! ipad babies didn’t chose to only play on their ipads, thats what their parents gave them!
an anecdotal example: when i was a kid, all my parents would do in their minimal free time was watch tv and then they would be surprised when in my sister and i’s minimal free time we would also only watch tv/play video games. they scolded us for not reading books, but they never read books. they scolded us for not going outside but they never went outside.
“kids are always on their damn phones” my mom is in her 60s and opens up candy crush anytime she’s sitting — it isnt just the kids
its called creating an enabling environment. If parents want their children to not be using tablets/phones all the time, then they need to teach the skills and provide the resources needed for their children to engage in something other than technology.
Third set of matching icons done! That tooka a while 😅
The oldest and the youngest... the child of the forest and the child of the sea... the youngest brother and the older brother... the fully-armored one and the lightest clothed one...
I just think they're neat

trying something new this year called the Mosquito Bucket Challenge!
it's an initiative being pushed by Homegrown National Park as an alternative to mosquito spraying and pesticides
the key concept is intentionally attracting mosquitos to buckets with standing water, but adding mosquito dunks to prevent them from successfully reproducing
mosquito dunks are a product containing a bacteria called Bti, which prevents larvae from developing into adult mosquitos
Bti does not affect most other animals/insects, and is thus safe for wildlife and pollinators! you can find mosquito dunks easily online or at home improvement stores
so basically, you fill the bucket up with organic material like leaves, add water and a quarter of a mosquito dunk once a month....and that's about it! you also use a wire cover or a "rescue stick" to prevent other creatures from falling into the bucket and not being able to climb out
Homegrown National Park is encouraging people to decorate their buckets to help spread the word, but i am lazy so Lowe's logo and a tumblr post it is
we can talk about the important role mosquitos play in ecosystems, but the reality is that many people won't tolerate high numbers of mosquitos in their yards. this is an easy and low-cost alternative to much more harmful control methods – a bucket, mosquito dunks and some chicken wire cost me a total of about $20!
you can read more about the Mosquito Bucket Challenge here! please consider reblogging or making a bucket this year 🐝
barbapapa disaster
piece made for @thewritersdidit for the Gestral Village E33 Anniversary Swap!
we don't mention the fact that i was 80% done with it and then my old ipad died and i had to redo the whole thing from scratch which is why im late nuh uh. nope. nada.
Have seen a whole lot of this talked about but I've been playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors lately and it got me thinking about the short amount of time Warriors was on skyloft. Just like his own soldiers and everyone else in the War, Warriors probably spent a lot of time with the current knights of Skyloft. He probably got really close to some of them too while he was there.
And ya know who was probably one of those knights?
Sky's dad
Cue my new headcannon that Warriors actually knew Sky's dad from the war. And after it's all over, PapaSky goes back home to his pregnant wife, deciding to name his child after the Hero he just fought alongside in hopes that his kid will grow up to be just as kind and courageous as that Captain.
(or the tragic route in which PapaSky dies in battle and Warriors has to be the one to tell his pregnant wife the news. Eitherway, Sky is named after Warriors and no one knows)
