I was thinking of a pride art challenge people could do with their OCs, because I thought it'd be cute! A queer/trans artist with their creations.
but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs

There’s a common fandom characterization of Mokuba as a kind of carefree, open and loving little kid, and it’s always interested me because what we do know of him in canon is that he’s pretty aggressive and standoffish. In his first appearance he’s running a gang of kids, he tries to poison Jounouchi and Yuugi, and Seto’s subdued reaction implies he’s always doing things that are offbook in this way. He doesn’t have Seto’s “games have rules” mentality; he’s willing to start out cheating if it means he gets what he wants. He chooses to save Honda but he makes no point in mentioning it. He flinches out of Yuugi’s grasp when he saves him. Nothing he does is particularly childlike (except for maybe the foods he chooses in his Russian roulette). While he does do kind things in the story, he doesn’t let people view him as nice (he begs Seto to take the gang off of Pegasus’s island, but he does berate and tease them while they do it). He has an undercurrent of anger and frustration to his character that people rarely address. He only gets two real chances in the story to address his frustration (once in duelist kingdom and once in battle city) but you can still see it in the way that he talks about his and Seto’s past and in the way he address Gozaburo. (He never chose to call him Father ever, even when Seto did)
I think the canon reality of Mokuba as a character is so much more interesting and complex than the fandom gives him credit for.

WHAT THE FUCK
I love when someone is explaining instructions to a group I’m in and they look at me and it reminds them to say something about using preferred names/pronouns or that there’s vegan food options available. I go by my given name/pronouns and I’m not vegan but I’m proud that I can provide this service
A friend of mine wisely pointed out that "-slop" is often a thought terminating suffix. To some people it means unoriginal or uninspired, to others it means a mass-market peoduct, to others it could mean a popular thing I don't like. It is vaguely defined, an can often be a replacement for a more rigorous analysis.
Personally, I feel I shouldn't lean on easy platitudes! It is important to me that I can accurately articulate why I don't like something. We must always investigate what is meant by -slop.
