Season Seven Blu-Rays are now complete at http://xfphotos.x-sites.org/caps/

Screengrabs have now been captured for all seasons except 3, 9 & 11, and with a new blu-ray drive (RIP temperamental bd-rom) those should be done shortly.  there’s still a lot of uploading to do, I feel like I’ve been doing this forever and I must be near the end, but it turns out I’m only about half way through uploading.  I’d better get back to it.

The screengrab archive is in the process of being updated. Although I began supplementing existing caps with ones I’d taken, I decided it was quicker to do al new caps.  Season 1 is half-half, but after a big week there are now blu-ray caps for:

I tend to do the seasons randomly. I’ve fully captured seasons 5 & 7 (but they’re yet to be processed), and might start capturing Season 2 next, because that’s the way I roll.   The old site is at xfphotos.x-sites.org, but only until I finish all the new captures.

If you have a request for a particular episode or season let me know and I’ll do that one asap. As long at the BD-ROM co-operates. It’s been buggier than usual the last couple of days... I’m racing to capture every episode before it gives up completely! I’m not game to try reinstalling everything in case I lose it completely - I have memories of the initial frustration of getting it to play nice to begin with.

A resurrection of Gertie's Screen Grab Archive

Following a request to get this website back up, it can now be found at the above link. This was a ginormous site and it comes ‘as is’, fresh from the wayback machine. GertieBeth began this archive in 2000 and kept it alive for almost 20 years as a quick resource for screen shots, promotional images and BTS photos. 

I hope to replace the two missing pages I’m aware of and any of the images I can get a hold of soon, but with the size and structure of this site I can’t make any promises.

XF Fanfic e-book library

A new site aimed at e-readers.  Each series or story is consolidated into epub and pdf versions, with a link to an old-skool version.  There are also some newer stories with dustjackets, with links to download the story in the format of your choice from the original post on AO3/ff.net.

The X-Files Fan Fiction of Jess M

Jess M’s page, originally made and hosted by Galia, has been resurrected.  Jess’ stories are a bit of a mess on Gossamer, with many of them listed amongst the work of other Jess’s or under a name she asked to be removed a long time ago, so we’re pleased to have all her fics in the one place.

This site got a little bit of a makeover as it’s been converted to a mobile friendly design, which is something we’d like to do more of where possible.  The basic site remains the same, but the original background was missing, we’ve really just reworked the responsive version of the site around the available images Galia used.

Jess is renowned for her MSR smut; one of her most famous stories being “the chilis fic” (The Airport), which was referenced by Gillian Anderson during season 11, but there’s a bit of comedy there along with quite a few case files.

X-Files movie and episode fanfiction

Stage One of the Cutting Room Floor resurrection is finally complete.  This was a rather large undertaking, involving the replacement of over 500 missing stories, the fixing of over 4,000 links, and recreation of a number of missing banner images. 

There’ll be a little break before stage two of the resurrection is started while other neglected projects get some attention.  Stage two involves adding all the extra stories that should have been there but weren’t linked on the pages we recovered.  In the meantime, if you’re looking for a specific post ep fic written while the show was originally on air and it’s not there, feel free to ask.

Current status: uncovering, recovering, and discovering

We’ve uncovered some archaeological relics, we’ve recovered some of these to the point that we can determine their potential, and have discovered, sometimes by Mulder-esque leaps of logic, some contact details for authors whose work we’d like to resurrect.

Despite little disturbance to the surface dirt at the moment, things are growing underneath.  And if not a cure for warts literally, they can go some way towards curing warts of the metaphorical kind.

There’s nothing like an emergency reanimation to get your heart pumping.

When we discovered that Donna’s Stories was MIA, and Donna confirmed it wasn’t intentional, we whipped out a backup that we just happened to have lying around and got a mirror happening at http://donnas-stories.xhumingpotatoes.com.  

We don’t have a lot of live site backups, but Donna’s Stories is a favorite so we made sure we had a copy tucked away, and we’re happy to hang onto it as long as necessary.  The backup appears to be structurally sound, but there’s a little cosmetic work yet to be done. 

Donna wrote a huge amount of fanfic before she went on to become a ‘legitimate’ published author, so we’re lucky to still have access to all her X-Files Fanfic.  Go check out her blog and see what she’s up to now.  We’ll holler when we know more about the fate of donnas-stories.com.

We’re proud to announce the resurrection of Anne Haynes’ fanfic site. 

Anne Haynes was a popular author of X-Files fan fiction from the mid to late 1990s.

After initially publishing stories under her real name, she later chose to remove much of her existing work from external archives and publish exclusively on her own site, which has been gathering dust in a corner of The Wayback Machine for way too long.

Sadly Anne passed away in 2017, so we’re glad to have the opportunity to remember her through the legacy of her fiction.
