You want to know what I am?
I’m a survivor.
Lead me to war with your brilliant direction.
I’m sorry for the demon I’ve become. You should be sorry for the angel you are not.
PREVIEW FOR WHO I AM? NEXT CHAPTER!!!!!
The car pulled up to the gates of what was to become Laura's new home. Charles Xavier's school for the gifted. Starring at the iron bars as they opened, she suddenly felt like she was going to prison. Was there an out clause in the agreement she'd made? She looked over at the man that reeked of alcohol and cigars wondering if he'd agree to teaching her somewhere else. Something told her, that wouldn't be an option. Pulling into the garage, Logan turned off the engine and grabbed Laura's arm just as she went to open the door. "Listen kid," He started off, causing Laura to instantly become weary of what he was to say. In her experience conversations that started off this way, never went well for her. “I know you've been through a lot and you don't remember some things, but if you hurt anyone here you'll be answerin' to me, got it?" As he spoke, Laura couldn't help, but feel her anger and agitation building. Why was she getting threatened? He was the one that had forced her to come here. He was the one to intrude on her life, not the other way around. "Cause that was soo my plan," She sneered, pulling her arm out of his grip. "You're the one that came to me remember?" She got out of the car, grabbing the one backpack she had, before slamming the door. Sighing, Logan got out of the car, closing the door before leading Laura into the mansion through the garage entrance. He hadn't asked for this either, yet here he was stuck too, all because some woman had played God. They didn't speak as they walked through the halls, passing other students and teachers on the way. Laura watched as some greeted her escort with smiles, waves, and friendly greetings that he returned in kind. It surprised her, that he was so popular and well liked given the way he treated her. It wasn't long till they reached their destination outside Charles Xavier's office. She knew this for two reasons, one; the man's scent was seeping through the door, two; there was a plaque with his name upon it located in the middle of the wooden structure. Logan knocked once, receiving an invitation to enter. He opened the door, walking in first with Laura right behind him. "Ms. Kinney, it's good to see you again," Xavier greeted her, wheeling around his desk giving her a smile. Laura looked at him for a half second, not saying anything before glancing around the rest of the office. It was bigger then she had expected with two bookshelves to her right, a desk in front of her off facing the window with two chairs facing the desk, and a small table to her left with a chessboard located on it. She took notice that there was a game currently in play with the white side having recently captured a black knight. Not taking offense to the young woman, he turned his attention to Logan. "I take it there were no problems?" Logan shook his head before taking a seat watching his clone. "Nah, the owner thinks she's dead so, he won't come lookin' and she's promised to be on her best behavior," Laura had began to look at the books on Xavier's shelf as the two men started their conversation. At the mention of her behavior she reacted with one simple action of raising her middle finger toward Logan. Logan scoffed at her. "I'm sure there won't be an issue," Xavier smiled at the two, amazed at how similar they were. It stood to reason given what Laura really was to Logan, but giving those details to her, before her mind opened up was dangerous. "Now, Ms. Kinney, you're here to finish your education along with learning to control your abilities. I have a schedule here along with your dorm assignment," He turned away from the two heading to his desk to retrieve the papers containing the information. "Also, upon your Aunt's request you will resume your therapy on Wednesdays at 3:15 with me," That caused Laura to turn her full attention on the baled man. "Right," She gave a humorous smile. They didn't share in her humor causing her expression to change to one of disdain. "You can't be serious?" The look they both shared, made her realize they were quite serious. Letting out a noise of annoyance, she walked over to Xavier ripping the papers from his hands before heading for the door. "How the hell could this day get any worse?" She grumbled exiting, leaving the two men without another word. Heading away from the office, down the hall, she wasn't sure where she was going, needing to just get away from them and everything that had happened in the past 48 hours. Lost in her thoughts, not paying attention, she rammed right into someone who had recently left the kitchen causing both of them to drop everything they were holding. This meant the person's slice of celebration cake now resided on Laura's shirt. "Great," She mumbled. You had to jinx yourself didn't you? Looking up at the person her mouth was close to dropping off her face. NO! "What the hell! That was the last piece! Are you so stupid as to not know how to wal-" Julian stopped his yelling, taking the fork he had in his mouth out, once he looked up at who he was faced with. Long luscious raven hair, emerald green eyes, and a striking body to match. It was the woman from the club! She wasn't real, she couldn't be. He was imaging her. Before he could say anything, she grabbed the papers she'd dropped and just about vanished, she ran so fast down the hall. Julian, himself was too stun to move and just watched her go. Trying to figure out if she'd been real or a figment of his imagination. Considering he was now cake less, he opted to the interaction being real.
