For a moment, Hugo was taken aback by Benji's sudden challenge, leaning back as if he was almost intimidated by his fire. However, in that moment, he remembered something: he really, really, really loved challenges -- especially when they had to do with video games. His face split into a wide, crooked grin. "You're on."

"Yeah, but not enough to commit pixelated suicide." Benji snorted, noticing the way that Hugo’s ears were reddening. It only made him grin wider. "You’re the only one I know that would classify that as a ‘dark time’ time in your life."

"Hey, hey! It wasn't intentional! I swear, it was like my mind was on autopilot. I just did it without thinking!" That probably made it sound worse, but to Hugo, it was clear justification. In reality, however, he was simply flustered. "It's a legit thing, man. I'm usually an ace at video games."
