Chosen pokemon ill be writing; shiny braixen & a riolu
Zanka had riolu when he joined the hell guard, everyone got their own pokemon upon first joining as a means to make up for the hell guard having 0 givers.
Some got a froakie, oshawott, mienfoo, and a rockruff. Those were the only four pokemon you could get from this, although..apparently a riolu had gotten snuck in. See, you don't know who you're getting, they're assigned to you, being given a pokeball first and seeing your partner for the first time after.
Zanka wasn't expecting snything less, although he certainly wasn't expecting a riolu. After he had realized the mistake, and saw he was originally supposed to get a rockruff, he had already decided that he wasn't gonna change a thing. (He wasn't gonna say it was because he already got attached..shh..)
And people weren't surprised that zanka out of everyone got a riolu, he's the next up for the golden throne. It's to be expected he got an incredible partner, even in battle the two worked perfectly, and even after hours the two constantly trained non stop, although nobody knew that.
Everything had been fine until hyo showed up, it rubbed salt in the wound when hyo not only beat him, but her mienfoo beat riolu as well.
Riolu didn't take it personally, but was definitely worried about zanka. The difference between riolu and zanka, was the fact that riolu wasn't so hell bent on being perfect, on not failing, on keeping high expectations...but riolu was very aware that zanka had those problems, and knew very well how bad his siblings affected him.
Although that didn't mean riolu didn't want to try and beat mienfoo, so riolu picked up the pace with zanka...until it happened.
Zanka had gotten lucky with riolu. Although now, it seemed zanka's luck ran out. All these weapons, and just to get a one over hyo, just to be special again, the same type of special he felt with riolu, he had chosen a stick.
The thinking was logical, although he had failed.
Riolu tried to keep up with zanka as he ran, although unfortunately riolu tripped and lost its trainer.
Riolu had been alone for those three days, trying to find it's trainer. Riolu couldn't help but blame itself, too. Eventually, riolu had been walking around and found two people next to a well, and overheard zanka's voice. Reuniting once again.
When zanka had his little trial to join the cleaners, riolu finally evolved into lucario.
Now in this AU i like to think that mega stones are VERY rare, hidden under PILES of trash from YEARS and YEARS ago, i also think it'd be cute if it were a trainer and partner thing, like they both have to find the general area of the mega stone and search for it themselves, so that'd be adorable if zanka and lucario did that.
Unfortunately for them, everytime they try to use it, lucario's aura gets in the way and lucario goes berserk 💔💔
Zanka and lucario had been out for a mission, simple and easy, although the two came across a very injured and very irregular colored braixen.
The braixen had been trying to fight the trash beast itself, most likely to make itself stronger as in this world that's what some pokemon often do, but usually they'd go after the smaller trash beasts, not a colossal like the one zanka was fighting, especially braixens size? Takes crazy guts.
Zanka didn't waste time in taking the braixen back to eishia, their own nurse joy (LMFAO SORRY), and was stumped when eishia asked where braixens branch was.
"Branch..?" Yeah, safe to say they immediately went back for it, obviously they did, zanka understood what it's like to have a special stick.
Unfortunately, when zanka found it, the stick had been split in half. When zanka first laid his eyes on it, he felt shivers crawl up his back, because he couldn't imagine ever breaking assistaff, so he was worried on how braixen would react.
There's no sugar coating something like that, zanka wouldn't like to be lied to if his stick was broken, too.
So zanka returned to see braixen at full health, and stressing eishia out with the way it was freaking out over the stick.
Zanka could basically hear braixens heart shatter when it saw the state it's stick was in. The way it walked over quietly and had the two pieces in its paws, the silence was heavy.
This was a couple days before rudo had joined them, and zanka decided to make braixen his responsibility, to somehow fix it's stick and make it feel better somehow.
It wasn't all bad, luckily braixen had someone who fully understood it instead of someone who overlooked the problem because it was a stick. It helped braixen a little when zanka offered braixen to help polish assistaff, but it made braixen hurt a lot.
When rudo DID arrive, enjin knew zanka wasn't gonna wanna deal with rudo, nor did zanka know about rudo's little fixation on fixing stuff, so as a little surprise for both zanka and braixen, enjin had taken the pieces of braixens stick and handed it over to rudo in hopes of rudo being able to put it back together.
Was rudo successful? Yes, he was, the stick was fixed, although only fixed enough so it could last a little longer, unfortunately it's still a stick, but this would have to do.
Enjin also gave rudo the go to try and replenish with zanka, so rudo reluctantly and nervously gifted zanka the stick.
It was true the stick only lasted so long, the second time zanka ran into jabber, braixen had broken its stick, but this time not in two pieces, it was completely gone now.
At some point braixen got a new stick, one that rudo and zanka both worked on gifting to braixen (despite them arguing almost the whole time on what a good stick would be for braixen..) and took it.
And zanka also eventually learned that braixen had been holding an everstone, allowing it to stop evolving. Braixen had been fighting a trashbeast that big, in hopes of getting stronger without evolution.
And that, was enough for zanka to finally catch braixen and add it to his team.
Chosen pokemon; munchlax, rockruff, linoone & feebas(eventually milotic)
rudo didn't have any pokemon on the sphere, not that there weren't any, but he hadn't seen any who caught his eye. He knew regto had a pokemon, a linoone, on the less richer side of the city there weren't any "fancy" pokemon there, there were zigzagoon, poochyena, meowth, and sometimes on a rare occasion, you'd see an aron, obviously those aren't the only pokemon but the more common ones (besides aron)
When rudo reached the ground, he happened to have landed on a munchlax by accident and angered it. It was evident the both of them weren't meant to be there, but enjin had only taken rudo. Albeit munchlax decided to follow along from behind out of pure curiosity (and wanting revenge)
Munchlax was surprised to see rudo was actually a giver, and maybe mightve helped rudo out as well when munchlax realized he was in danger. Listen, munchlax isn't a monster.
At that point munchlax wouldn't leave rudo alone, to which caused their little rivalry, ESPECIALLY when it came to food and sweets, you leave a whole stash of candy in front of them? It's gone in a second flat and the both of them look like balloons ready to pop.
Their love for food managed to bring them together, also because of the fact that they're able to help eachother if they're in a rough spot. Rudo had linoone, but didn't want to fight with linoone as a way to respect regtos pokemon, and on the ground people are prone to stealing pokemon, rudo isn't experienced, so for now linoone stays at the cleaner HQ.
Eventually, rudo catches munchlax, his pokemon partner.
When rudo meets rockruff, it takes place after meeting amo. When everyone was making their way to alice, rudo ran into someone abandoning their rockruff, kicking the rockruff off to the side and calling it useless.
Rudo wasted no time in standing up for the rockruff, with an extra passion than normal, because rudo knows what it's like to be abandoned and left behind.
Rudo took rockruff to alice, and eishia was luckily there to help rockruff out.
It took a while for rockruff to start getting used to everyone, at first rockruff was very rough with everyone, biting anyone who touched it and not wanting to be near anyone.
Rudo didn't pay this any mind, and took care of rockruff, so rockruff stayed in rudo's room a lot of the time because rudo was the first to help it, albiet that didn't mean they always got along.
One night, rockruff had gotten exceptionally mad and bit rudo, not knowing rudo's scars were there. Rockruff was expecting backlash from that, but had been offered a pat on the head and forgiveness.
A few days later, rockruff allowed rudo to catch it. Although, rockruff does eventually evolve.
During a fight, rockruff evolves into midnight form lycanroc. (I wanted it to evolve in the trash beast fight but it was day so it wouldn't work 💔)
I thought that midnight form lycanroc had this anger that could reflect rudos, like look at them bro do NOT tell me they DONT work together, THEYRE BASICALLY THE SAME DONT PLAY
Now feebas is an interesting one tbf..
feebas is overlooked for its looks, nobody pays attention to it and i think that may be what catches rudos attention to it in the first place.
I could see rudo walking around after the huge storm, just to hear splashing and troubled noises, so rudo rushes over just to find a feebas.
A lot of these pokemon i chose for them is very symbolic, besides linoone..i just went off of vibes..regto couldve had a aggron flowkey but i couldnt decide between linoone or aggron..i kinda like linoone more..ionkno..
I honestly feel like rudo would be more determined to care for feebas after hearing someone say "its just an ugly fish brah" and defending it with his LIFEEEEE
Now feebas will eventually evolve into milotic, and rudo would be VERY shocked to see his "ugly fish" become an absolute GEM. I thought milotic would be perfect because milotic can often use its energy to calm people down from fights or anger, and rudo is often angry because of the empathy he feels for others and how unfair hes had it in life.
I can invision milotic wrapping rudo up and calming him down, it also works out because thats something rudo was wanting to work on as well, to be in control of himself (because people took away his control over his own life)

Chosen pokemon; zeraora, jolteon, & sudowoodo..smiles nervously
Now. Sudowoodo is enjin's pokemon partner. Due to recent chapters we see why enjins dislikes the rain, and sudowoodo also dislikes the rain.
Enjin most likely meets sudowoodo a little bit after running into rudo's father, just on a random day it's raining, and enjin had been walking around on his own, until a sudowoodo rushes over to enjin for cover from the rain.
Enjin would most definitely be jarred, but overall bonds with sudowoodo as they travel through the rain together. At this point, sudowoodo is attached, and takes a pokeball from enjin, giving enjin no choice and putting itself into the ball.
unfortunately, there are no trees on the ground..so everytime sudowoodo tries to disguise itself, it looks like an odd rock instead of a tree. (canon sudowoodo)
I really like audowoodo as enjins partner or one of his pokemon, as sudowoodo hates rain and despite looking like a tree, you'd assume its a grass type, but it's actually a ground type !!!!!
I chose zeraora because like, that one episode in sun and moon where the place is just a huge wasteland like the ground, i also think because of that it'd be cool if there were trashbeasts AND ultrabeasts just roaming around, ykwim?
now this pokemon is a pokemon enjin had to gain the trust of, which took a while because zeraora doesn't like humans, mainly from mistreatment from them. Zeraora especially doesn't like the sphere or sphereites, so i like to think that it took zeraora a hot second to get used to rudo.
Zeraora wants to protect the remaining pokemon on the ground, and i think enjin would find that very honorable, as zeraora would find enjin honorable by him wanting to save any kids who were trafficked. Probably would bond from them wanting to save people and pokemon flowkey
also beneficial because zeraora gets to defeat both trash beasts and ultrabeasts with even more help yesyes
honestly, when enjin and zeraora first meet, i think zeraora would fight enjin 100% for sure, hell, zeraora probably wouldn't become enjins pokemon until even way after joining the cleaners, too. Takes a WHILE.
A little bit after enjin catches sudowoodo, he also catche's an eevee in the rain. (Yes almost all of them have something to do with rain i think its cute)
When enjin joins the cleaners, he goes out on a mission with his eevee and stumble upon a thunder stone (eevee does) and little dows enjin know, when he calls over his eevee..he's met with a rather confused jolteon.
See i wanted to give enjin a zapdos......but zeraora is MORE than enough LMFOAOAOAO
Yes, enjin would have a mega stone for zeraora.
Too lily would most likely have a gardevoir, meloetta & a swanna
Delmon would have a sunflora (a very rare pokemon for the ground) which used to be his wifes sunflora. ✌️
