Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace
cdoman:
It was even unclear to himself why he had chosen to pick Tyler out of all the clients at the Haus. Their first interaction wasn’t all that great, Carter shoving him and basically confronting him for leaving like he had, so what was he supposed to expect for their second meeting? That magically things would go back to how they were before he’d even left in the first place? He sighed when their names were called together, and it didn’t take long for Tyler to find him - not that he was hiding or anything, he just felt that it’d be easier to stand still and let the client come to him. Otherwise they’d probably just keep going right around each other. He looked over at the other when he heard his name, his gaze soon dropping to the ground as he nodded, hand playing idly with his coat sleeve. "I-“ should he give Tyler an explanation as to why he had wanted to see him tonight? Could he even give himself a decent enough one? No, the more Carter thought about it he couldn’t come up with even a decent sentence to let the other understand Carter’s thought process on this. "Fuck, I just-” and that’s when Carter did it, stepping forward as he closed the space between them like it was nothing, bringing both of his hands up to cup the others cheeks as he brought their lips together in a fury of passion, melting immediately into the others touch as he did so.
The idea behind Carter’s actions was beyond anything Tyler could think of in that short span before the two of them were one in front of the other. His questioning gaze falling upon the younger male as he awaited for a reply. The doctor could tell Carter was struggling to find words, and he would comfort him and say words weren’t necessary and that they could just spend some time in silence. That was what he would do. Just sit by the staff member outside on a bench, in complete silence until either of them decide to go. He wouldn’t know of better because he would be afraid he’d say or do the wrong thing. How ever, Carter’s actions were completely different to what he would even imagine. So swiftly closing the distance between them, their lips were already connected before Tyler could properly react, even though his hands did, as if they were instructed -- Wrapping themselves around the younger male roaming his back while pulling him closer as he kissed him back. The moment they started making out, all the memories flooded Tylers mind again. The times he kissed him in the past and just how good those lips felt on his own. Moments appeared to be longer than usual and once they finally broke the kiss, Tyler was nearly breathless. “Carter---” he spoke the name, eyes looking down at those swollen lips he missed so dearly. “Come with me, please.” he allowed his arms to fall down, hands seeking hands and he took a hold of one of Carter’s before walking backwards towards the exit. He wanted to go outside, but he wanted Carter to follow him there, and just kiss him like that at least once more.
Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace
The evening hasn’t been going the way he planned. It was supposed to be him, mostly alone at the corner, not talking to anyone, having a few drinks and heading back to his room. That was the plan. It wasn’t like he had returned too long ago or had encountered many people, so he hoped that he’d be skipped in the whole draft thing. Tyler was especially not in a mood for something like that --- having a random staff member all over him, some boring stories, attempts to get laid. It was getting old. While the Blackwell was announcing the event, the doctor started skipping crowds, heading towards the exit when the sound of his name coming out made him stop. Wait, what? He looked to his side, and the other name was there as clear as the night sky was. Carter. heart skipping a beat, his eyes roamed the room until they laid onto this incredibly hot staff member and his heart started pounding a little faster. It was a no brainer as his feet started moving towards him even before his brain could process it. “Carter, you---” he paused, his lower lip trembling. Suddenly the room became much hotter than it was. Or much colder. He couldn’t even tell. He just felt his skin covered up in goosebumps. “You asked for-- Me?” he was half speechless and half wondering why and all he did was staring into those beautiful eyes, not moving a muscle. ----- @cdoman
tonyvalois:
“They are not so bad.” Tony approached the other man with a smile on his lips after he waved goodbye to another group of clients that he had been talking to till now. Everything seemed pretty wonderful. The decorations were amazing and everything looked absolutely breathtaking. If only his mother could see it - she would freak out since he was a big flower lover. “You just have a couple of drinks, talk to a couple of people and enjoy yourself.” Tony chuckled and offered his hand to the other man to greet him. “Anthony Valois. Or Tony. My friends call me Tony.”
“Easier said than done. I hate approaching people.“ with a sigh, Tyler pursed his lips. “Like... Give me a person to operate and have everyone watching me do it, I would not flinch or show a hint of nervousness, and I would still do the best I could. But put me in a place like this. With so many people, and I can’t approach anyone. I’m not even that shy or awkward. Just awful at starting conversations.“ He shrugged. It was the truth though. As much as he was good with people and liked talking, he was never, or close to never, the one to actually approach them. “I’m Tyler. Nice to meet you, Anthony.“ he chuckled. “I would say Tony, but if your friends call you that, it would feel wrong, considering I don’t even know you.“
One thing Tyler did not need right about now was the whole event they had planned and he would have preferred to stay back in his room. But this sorta things was a good way to try and talk to some people, and see if he could get a word with Carter again. Standing by the bar, he held a drink in his hand and tapped his foot down rather nervously. “Fucking hate these...” the comment was more to himself than to the person next to him, but he paid attention to them anyways, nodding his head once.
xavier-xander:
“Specially if two clients suggest it. Is there a suggestion box where we can eave a note?” It was the safest option, because the other option was to talk to Joshua in person and he was sure he wasn’t ready to do. “Seriously? What are you going to do? Throw one yourself?”
“I don’t remember there being a box. Like maybe just going to the administration and talking to them about it, or... something?” he debated the other’s words carefully. Would he be able to throw one himself? Not that he lacked anything but it would still be within the grounds o the resort. So maybe not the smartest idea. “I will figure it out. I always was good when it came to the little things like that.” he chuckled. “By the way, I’m Tyler.”

fuck all to hell
cdoman:
“You’re right, you are one,” he nodded in absolute agreement when he heard Tyler calling himself an idiot. He didn’t blame the guy though, considering he was a client and had a job to do outside of the Haus, Carter couldn’t have actually expected him to stick around could he? Still, it hurt so much given how close they had gotten to find that he’d up and left without even a goodbye. "I thought I meant something to you, and don’t give me all that bullshit about how you do care about me and this and that.“ He paused, another deep breath as he stared towards the ground, "you couldn’t even say goodbye, that’s all I could have asked for, it would have taken thirty seconds. At least then I would have known,” he groaned, feeling defeated the more he looked up and came face to face with that guy. Fucking hell he missed him so much, that fucking hand on his skin causing him to flinch and pull away afraid that Tyler would sense how much he actually fucking missed him still. "Don’t say things like that, not unless you actually mean them, and i’ll never be that high up your priority list.“
Very well aware of the fact Carter was angry and he may have no meant what he repeated after him, it still hurt. It hurt knowing that he could have avoided this. If only he didn’t return the very same night he got the call about his father. It hurt knowing that no matter what he did, he’d never make it right, and in all the years of his life, Tyler never wanted to make anything right as he wanted this. “You did-----” the voice cut off as soon as he realized what he said and swallowed some air. “You do.” he added in a much weaker tone, as if what he said was meant only to be known by him and no one else. “It all happened too fast. I wanted to. I just--- God Carter, I have missed you too, you know. I really have,” he reacted on his feelings and stepped closer to the other, not allowing him to back away. Not now when he needed to make piece with himself. “And I know you don’t want me to say it, and I know it would be easier to let you go, and just let you think I didn’t care enough to return in two years, but I can’t. I can’t because I wanted to come back, you know. I wanted to come back as soon as I left, the very next day, but I couldn’t.” But why didn’t you call, Tyler? Why didn’t you make any sort of connection? The question hit him through the stomach, as a jolt of sharp pain on his left side. “I know I should have made an effort, I should have called, tell them to let you know what happened and that I couldn’t stay even the night.” he felt his lips and his throat dry, trying to make sense as much as possible, to justify himself at least to some extent. Even if justification wasn’t what Carter asked of him and even if Carter simply didn’t care for one. There was a brief pause. A moment of silence and a moment of clarity. “I always meant it. And you are someone worth prioritizing, and I am sorry.” by now he felt another tear rolling down his cheek, wetting the corner of his lips and he licked it, the salty taste lingering on his tongue. “I’m sorry I disappointed you and I’m sorry I hurt you.” ------- “I really am.”
cdoman:
Hearing his name from the others lips, how badly Carter wanted to punch him right now, how dare he fucking say his name after all that he’d done. He just left without a fucking trace, the two of them having grown so close, and then one day Tyler was nowhere to be found. "You know that I fucking slept outside your door for a week after you left hoping to fucking god you’d come back?“ He shot at the other, having been going through a rough time and needing Tyler only to find out he wasn’t there. "Like a fucking dog scratching to come in and you weren’t even here,” he shook his head refusing to listen to his apology. "No, it’s not that easy, you can’t just say you’re sorry and expect me to forgive you. You left when I needed you the most…“
Mouth slightly open, Tyler was lost for words. And not only lost for words... he was lost for everything. His mind was more hallow with every word that came out of Carter’s mouth. As if he was being struck by sharp ice, over and over again, his skin was covered in goosebumps, his heart was pounding and his eyes were glued to one spot. This was on him and him alone. He didn’t expect Carter to forgive him, but he didn’t know it was that bad either. Yes, the two of them grew so close together, and he shouldn’t have left, but why was Carter doing that to himself just because of him. It wasn’t far on him to beat himself over it and the mere thought of this boy he cared about so much once before, and the same boy he realized he still cared about just as much now that he could see him standing in front of him, doing something to himself that would be harmful pained him. “I----” words wouldn’t come out. They just stayed there, in the back of his throat. He wanted to approach, to wrap his arms around Carter but all he did was stand there, his mouth open, his bottom lip shivering and his eyes slightly tearing up. “I’m such an idiot. I know I am.” he barely spoke the words, his voice getting lost half way through the sentence, cracking along the way. “I have no right to ask your forgiveness.” and he did the stupidest thing he could have possibly done -- extended his arm, hand placing itself onto Carter’s cheek. The mere touch of his skin sent a tear rolling down his chin. “I’ll never regret anything in my life as much as I regret hurting you.”
xavier-xander:
“We haven’t had an event not a party in a long time, so I think we’re long overdue.” Before, he could have just casually mentioned it to Joshua and the Blackwell might hear his suggestion and plan some sort of event, big or small. But right now he no longer had that influence over the man who ran this place. “Anyways, I’m sure you could organize a small party.”
“See, that’s actually not that bad of an idea. I think they would organize something if someone asked for it, right? I mean, after all, they do like their clients satisfied.” narrowing his gaze a little, the thought of it ran through his mind before he chuckled. “You know what, I’m gonna make sure we get a party soon.”
xavier-xander:
“It’s okay and you have nothing to worry about, because we have not met. I would have certainly remember. I’m good with faces and names.” Xavier stretched his hand out. “I’m Xavier, pleased to meet you, Tyler and welcome back…?” He chuckled. “We could have prepared a parade or something to celebrate.”
“I was just thinking the same. I normally don’t forget pretty people. And it’s not coz I’m shallow or anything. I just pay attention to things I like more than I do to things I don’t.” he chuckled, accepting the given hand, squeezing it and shaking it. “Nice to meet you too. And thank you. It’s good to be back, to be honest. I missed this place.” he nodded once, a smile still present on his face. “Well now you’re just teasing me. I would not have turned down a celebration though. Some drinks, good company, fun. That is what I missed about this place the most.”
xavier-xander:
“And what about the clients? Do you know any of the men who are still here?” Xavier had been a quite constant client, staying there for a pretty long time and he was sure he didn’t remember the man. Maybe they didn’t cross paths.
“That’s a tough one. I was here way too long ago. And well, I haven’t crossed paths with anyone I recognized so far.” with a little shrug, he approached the man, taking a good look at him. No. He was definitely not around when he was there two years ago. “I’m Tyler. In case we haven’t met before. And if we have, I realize just how awful it is of me not to remember you...” Even if he was handsome and somewhat gorgeous.
cdoman:
“He doesn’t need your help,” Carter called from down the hall as he watched the staff shoot him a look, Carter simply crossing his arms infront of his chest as he stared at the other man. "That means go away,“ he added as he motioned for the staff to scurry, the man doing as suggested as he walked away from Tyler - Carter coming towards him, almost as though he was staring face to face with a damn ghost. He walked right up to him and without hesitation shoved him as fucking hard as he could against the door, "what are you doing here?” He snapped, glaring at the other with a look of both anger and sadness.
Seconds before his eyes set on a familiar face, Tyler was wondering if or not he would still be here. Carter Andrews -- Probably the only person from within these walls he genuinely missed and at some point cared about very profoundly. The voice echoed through his head as he approached. That sweet voice he could still remember as barely a whisper against his ear. “I---” There wasn’t much he could even manage saying before he was pushed hard against the door, the hard wood probably causing a bruise or two to appear. “Carter.” just hearing that name coming out from his own mouth sounded weird. How much time has it been? A year? Two? The guy looked exactly as he remembered. “---I’m sorry.” what else could he even say? It’s not like he couldn’t see the anger sparking from those eyes, darting straight at him. “I’m so sorry.”
