I'd like to just give my brief review of adulthood.

Paying bills: Don't like that I have to spend money to do it, but it gives me a weird rush of endorphins.

Going to work: Got a damn good job that I actually enjoy. So good all around.

Parenting: Okay, I made these humans and now they give my attitude back...and they're all boys. I feel like the powers that be could have at least made one of them a girl if they're going to throw MY attitude back at me.

Housecleaning: This is a toss up. I both enjoy and don't enjoy these. I have my days where I get a lot done and I feel so accomplished. Then there are the days where I'm like f@$! this housecleaning business and it takes a lot of mental bargaining for me to do one thing. (It also doesn't help that I have three little DIYs that can destroy what I just cleaned in a fifth of the time it took me to clean it).

So as an overall rating, I give adulthood a 2 out of 5 stars. The brief endorphins are barely worth it. Do not recommend. 😑

Thoughts leading up to Valentine's Day

Whoever decided that Valentine's Day is the day we exchange chocolate and gifts should be hugged. Because they probably need it.

This may end up being known as un unpopular opinion...but I've never been super fond of Valentine's Day. The ideas that surround it have always kind of baffled me. Don't get me wrong, I do celebrate it by showing my friends and family that I love them, but I show my friends and family that I love them every day! I don't really put that much emphasis on the day itself, because in all the years I've been in a relationship, I have not been into the holiday all that much.

But that may be because my husband and my's idea of a romantic evening is ordering in and playing video games together.

I also have some trauma surrounding the holiday, but I won't bore you with that pile of dung...

I guess the point of my post today is...I think we need to normalize loving each other and showing it every day. No, don't go out and go broke on gifts and chocolate...just make an effort every day to let those you love know that you love them. Tomorrow is never promised.

Thoughts of a writer, reader, gamer...

Okay, so I am not the greatest at blogging, or vlogging, or anything of this nature, so I'm just going to start by saying that if you find yourself reading this, I'm sorry if this seems ramble-y and janky.

I've always loved writing. Especially after I was introduced to the world of fanfiction when I was in middle school. I began reading other people's writing, and as I've gotten older, I've noticed a few qualities that keep me coming back to a person's style of writing. Things like...how they hooked me in the first place, how they write certain characters, how much time and effort they put into their writing. I've found that a lot of what I love about fanfiction writers tend to be the same things that I love about the authors of my favorite books. It's a little funny how the two go so hand in hand.

As a reader, I feel that I've had a lot of authors, both of novels and of fanfiction, to look up to in terms of my own writing. I have so much writing that I would love to share with people, but I worry that others may hate it. Recently, however, I've had the utmost pleasure of connecting with one of my favorite authors in fanfiction, @tinyglamdramaqueen. If you have not read their work, you should! But by connecting with them, I have felt a little more confident in sharing my writing. I have been highly considering posting some of my fanfiction to Ao3 and seeing what the response is. I have not quite decided...but we shall see. I have many OC's that I would absolutely love to share with everyone and I may even eventually try my hand at characterxreader writing.

Now, I also added on the gamer part...well...because I'm a gamer and would love to connect with other gamers and perhaps see if anyone would be interested in gaming on Stardew Valley with me sometime, or some other games! I just brought up Stardew Valley because I recently bought it on Steam (though I've played it for awhile on other platforms). Anyway...I don't know that this will reach anyone who cares...but I hope it does! Thank you if you've made it this far. :)

92. Have you already thought of baby names, and if so what are they? I've used three already: Damian Albert, Owen Grayson, and Timothy Scott (Batman fans...IYKYK). Should I ever have any girls: Elicia Isley and/or Emery Kyle.

93. Do you want a boy a girl for a child? I have 3 boys. I would like a girl now please.

94. What are you strengths? Hmmm...I am detail-oriented and can bust out a short story in less than an hour when I want to. I'm also really good at making people laugh.

95. What are your weaknesses? I overthink and question my decisions all the time, and I tend to leave a lot of projects unfinished for long periods of time unless they're for someone else.

96. How did you get your name? My godmother is where I got my first name from, I got my middle name from my aunt and grandmother.

97. Were your ancestors royalty? I have some royal ancestors, yes.

98. Do you have any scars? I feel like I answered this before. Physical scars, I jave a few. Mental scars, let's not go there.

99. Color of your bedspread? Is Loki a color? 😂

100. Color of your room? Purple.

Introducing our newest addition to the family.  That’s right!  Alternate Universe Maes & Gracia Hughes have welcomed a SON.  Damian joined us on a Wednesday morning in March.  He is our first and he is now currently almost 5 months old.  He’s keeping us on our toes for sure.  We love him very much and look forward to introducing him around SacAnime Summer 2015. :)
