Can everyone who makes video content do a Deaf bitch a favor? Watch your shit with the captions on and the sound off, and then do another round of editing to fix things including but not limited to:

Captions cover the spot on the screen you put the information I need

The dialogue is captioned but not the song you have playing that the dialogue is responding to

You only captioned the person on the screen, not the person off screen who is also talking

No captioning of critical sound effects (alarms, bells, dogs barking, etc)

Speakers are not labelled at moments where it is not clear on the screen who is talking.

Captions cover the spot on the screen that you put the information I need!

i hate that every time i look for color studies and tips to improve my art and make it more dynamic and interesting all that comes up are rudimentary explanations of the color wheel that explain it to me like im in 1st grade and just now discovering my primary colors

with specifically the highlights and colors being hues that compliment each other, don’t distract from the scene, and make it more interesting/visually appealing

Cohesion within compositions/lighting

"Chromatic fringe" - I also see people using this with shading, they bring in a transition color that is a different hue than the base color or shadow, it makes it so that less vibrancy is lost and it doesn't get muddy!

This one specifically has a lot of process behind the style of painting you're looking for!

Also one of my favorite artists who makes bright and colorful art like this is Not Sorry Art on TikTok & YouTube, her website is here and it's<3 my fav. She has some videos where you can see her process

With the oranges painting you put as an example, I noticed they painted the lighter values more toward yellow - they also exaggerated the hues of the undertones of the photo, so I'm guessing they either did it in their head or bumped the saturation up to get a closer look! I really love these paintings you shared and I definitely share your desire to paint/draw like that :)

Everytime I make a post like "don't spend money on gacha" I get a bunch of angry replies to tell me "actually it's POSSIBLE to gamble responsibly" and "mh how AM i a bad person for deciding to spend MY own money that I earned MYSELF?"

and man... I really wish that people understood that when I say "Don't spend money on gacha, it might kickstart a gambling addiction" or "if you regularly spend money on gacha you might already have one" I don't mean it as a moral judgement. Addiction isn't something that solely affects "bad" or "stupid" people. Addiction isn't some punishment that is deserved. If you suffer from any kind of addiction, you deserve help. But the first step of getting that help is acknowledging there is a problem in the first place.

also: while this applies to all addictions, gacha addictions especially suck because people keep trivializing it. There are so many memes and so much enabling like "lol just spent all my savings on gacha :p" "3000$ for my waifu, a pretty cheap price!" "lol it's too late for me I already spend so much on it but you guys stay safe!" "Don't spend on gacha? No, spend MORE on gacha!" which I believe only adds fuel to the virulent hostility against any post that goes "hey, this isn't normal, please be careful."

So yeah all this talk to say: the best way to not get a gambling addiction is to not start gambling at all, so don't spend money on gacha. If you do spend money on gacha, be careful and watch out that "I'm just spending ten bucks and nothing else" doesn't morph into "I just spent 140 bucks and got nothing out of it, might as well add ten more at this point." If you have a gacha addiction and are aware of it, I wish you safety and recovery.

over on patreon Brianna asked for fashion dwarves in bathing suits or wedding dresses for summer, and while I don’t have it in me to design wedding attire right now I figured I could give Cashmere some beachy pin-up vibes. she is a tropical dwarf after all. part of her home cave system is sea caves and almost her entire family works at or around the sea.

first suit is her standard pool/beach wear. nothing fancy, maybe has an extra enchantment on it to keep everything in place so she doesn’t have to adjust and check things every 5 minutes. second and third are New Boot Goofin’: Now Featuring Weapons. another enchanted wave application and some ammonite fossil heels.

fun fact, Cashmere is naturally really good at spear fishing. when she was a kid a grasping shark got ahold of her baby cousin and she put a spear right through its eye, saving the day. she immediately threw up after they were safe on shore because holy shit that was terrifying, but her potential was clear. if she never became a fashion designer she’d probably work on a boat somewhere.
