People don't actually grow out of their emo phases. People are forced out of their emo phases by employers who get a raging boner over controlling how their employees dress, cut their hair, whether they mod their bodies and so on

A lot of people are talking about what you are and aren't allowed to wear but I think that issue is secondary to what you are and aren't allowed to do to your body. Like "you have to wear a polo shirt and dress pants" fine as long as you're paying for the polo shirts and dress pants I now need to buy. Whatever. "You must have natural colored and clean cut hair, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos" now we have a fucking problem because I also have to have that hair face and body outside of the workplace. it's literally pervert shit I've met 24/7 doms less horny about controlling how their subs look.

It costed me a lot of mental health not to give up about my emo self during my first year as a retailer. From pure aesthetics to the "true emotional hardcore" part of me. My first boss was harassing me everytime with homophobic comments and how I was "effeminate" and "ridiculous" and stuff like that. I never gave up and never will.

Yesterday I saw pageninetynine in Paris and it was absolutely amazing. They were so lovely to each other and to the audience. I truly felt why this band is and still so influential in the whole emo/screamo scene worldwide.

In Game & Watch Gallery 2, for an unknown reason, Luigi appears wearing red clothes in the Music Room.

-The character cannot be Mario, as he has Luigi's face shape and Mario is already outside of the recording room on the bottom of the screen, looking in. Even if the character is somehow supposed to be Mario, this either means the character on the bottom screen is red Luigi or a second Mario. -The game is for the Game Boy Color, which can easily display several shades of green, including doing so on this very screen on the "Music Room" sign, making it unclear why this color was not chosen for Luigi.

someone in my recovery meeting last night was talking about how concerned they were about developing a sugar addiction to deal with not drinking anymore. and since I couldn’t say this to them at the time. here:

sugar addiction is not real

sugar is not evil

the reason you might crave a lot of sugar when you quit alcohol is because alcohol contains sugar

this doesn’t mean you’re addicted to sugar it means your body is still learning how to adjust to the removal of a previously major source of sugar

you may need additional calories in your diet to make up for the calories you are no longer getting from alcohol

it is fine and normal and natural to eat more food when you’re not drinking anymore, especially in the early stages of recovery

be patient with yourself. be compassionate with yourself. things take time
