s5 kurt: this is my boyfriend blaine and his boyfriend sam
if any of you put jensen’s ass on my dashboard after the boys s3 airs i’m burning down this website
if you think there’s even the slightest chance this won’t become the Jensen Ackles Plump Peaches website in a matter of minutes after it airs you really have no idea what site you’re using do you
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME??
We’re gonna need a new naked version of the equation

pulling stunts that strengthen the public’s perception of gay people as satanic perverts is a shitty thing to do. the end
counterpoint: it’s really funny.
lil nas x: i was demonized from a young age because of the unique intersection of my blackness and queerness within the church and now im reclaiming that for myself and showing young queer people that they always have a place where they’ll be accepted, even if they have to carve it out of the hell they were promised
random shitforbrains tumblr users: actually portraying queer people, including yourself, as sexually empowered or subversive in any way makes the homophobes mad :/// maybe just act normal??? idk pulling that “”stunt”” is kinda homophobic
OP’s statement implies that there is a way of acting that will convince the bigots that gay people are not satanic perverts.
There isn’t. Every single method has been tried: Being quiet. Blending in. Acting like middle class suburban straight couples. Being closeted and only finding partners who will keep the secret. Having one partner publicly take the role of another gender. (And then acting like a suburban straight couple.) Being ALONE, and just pining quietly for years.
None of it works. When the straights figure out who the gay people are, even if they are abstinent and solitary, there’s a swarm of bigots ready to denounce all queer people as evil, as corrupting children, as causing the downfall of society. A swarm of bigots ready to physically attack them to drive them off.
There is no polite enough, no ordinary enough, no invisible enough to keep us safe.
So fuck that.
Queer people should act like they want to act. If part of that is going all in for the “I am your worst hellscape nightmare” tropes, that’s part of reclaiming the right to be full members of society.
And queer people of color have at least twice as much right to ignore all the stupid “don’t do that because you’ll offend people!!!” rules.
What offends those people is queer people of color existing, not whatever they did that got them noticed. The bigots just like to pretend that the issue is “I don’t want to see it” instead of “I don’t want the person who did that, to exist.”
Because if the issue is “I don’t want to see it” - just don’t watch the video.
Specially, LIL NAS X tried that. Y’all remember his first his? Old Town Road? With the lyrics:
Cheated on my baby
You can go and ask her
My life is a movie
Bull riding and boobies
Cowboy hat from Gucci
Boy was STEALTH. AND WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIM????? They OUTED HIM. OUT OF REVENGE FOR BEING BETTER AT THE GAME THAN THEY WERE. FOR BEING A BLACK QUEER MAN WITH A HIT. THEY. OUTED. HIM.
Y’all DO NOT get to tell him to sit down and shut up about his gayness when he LITERALLY DID THAT AND WAS OUTED. what happened to the quiet polite gays, you ask?
Y’all killed, bullied and outed them so you’re stuck with us. Deal with it.

Performative Purity has never kept any person of color, queer folks, and ESPECIALLY queer persons of color safe in the eyes of a society that WANTS to hate us for existing as is. NEVER.

Jason Anderson
British artist Jason Anderson creates colorful abstract paintings composed of pixelated swatches of pastel-toned oil paint. Up-close, the artist’s paintings look like blocky layers of shapes and color; but, from afar, his scenes—featuring cityscapes, roads, trains, and marinas—are revealed.
Anderson began his career as a stained glass apprentice, where he worked on restoring the windows of cathedrals. He soon progressed onto designing the glass murals himself, where he learned how to break down subject matter into “jigsaws” of colored sections. This approach still shines through in his paintings today—complex scenes are brought to life with simple shapes and careful consideration to hue and tone.

Honestly it's really fucking scary how quickly people, ESPECIALLY leftists, start supporting loss of human rights when it's aimed at someone they don't like, how quickly leftists specifically start supporting things like state violence when it's convenient for them.
Police brutality is unacceptable. . . unless it's against a mass shooter. Life sentences are inhumane. . . unless they're given to abusers. Death sentences shouldn't be an option at all. . . unless the person on trial is a rapist.
Solitary confinement, abuse from authority figures, denial of legal representation, rushed trials, etc all become totally fine the moment they're aimed at someone we've decided is an acceptable victim, someone deserving of losing their basic human rights.
When you bring into question whether a person deserves basic human rights, no matter how terrible that person is, that is the moment you've declared that everyone's basic rights are conditional.
And believe me, you might think you're "justified" in declaring that x group should be suffering, but so everyone else is telling themselves the exact same thing when they take rights away from people of color and trans people and everyone that's slightly inconvenient to the status quo.
Um.. no. This is a piss-weak argument, and is extremely hurtful towards the marginalised groups you’ve listed. Don’t worry, I’ll explain: You’re comparing people who have no choice in their identity and what has historically ‘othered’ them from the society and the status quo (trans people and people of colour) to criminals who have made an active choice to suppress the human rights of another individual. Like, you literally just related trans people and POC to rapists, abusers and mass murderers. I hope you realise how fucked that is?
In addition, the examples you’ve laid out above, such as mass shooters being victim to police brutality, are weak, as they occur so rarely. Mass shooters (and domestic terrorists) are often detained peacefully, with much weaker charges against them than there would be if they were a POC. Most mass shooters (in the US, anyways) are white males, and thus they have white privilege when it comes to law enforcement which allows them a less violent response from police when committing a crime (see: Police Allow White People to Breach US Capitol, Jan 6th 2021 ).
The people you’re afraid are having their rights stripped by leftists for illegal acts made an active decision to commit a crime that hurts another individual, therefore taking away that individual’s right to live peacefully (or at all). I think that absolutely warrants them to reap the consequences of their actions. And no, being justly and harshly punished for their crime does not a make a rapist, abuser or murderer a ‘victim’. It makes them responsible for their fucking choices.
Have you ever wondered whether or not you’d be canonically queer if your life was a story? Look no further. This quiz will tell you your canon queer status.
