Mister Mourão’s “Ouroboros.”
Artist Mister Mourão’s complex series of drawings on brass entitled “Ouroboros,” which he explains as “an ongoing series that focuses on the concept of infinite, of something that has no beginning or end. The Art of Living Lightly: All(zone)’s Light House Micro-dwellings at the Chicago Architecture Biennial
Bangkok studio All(zone) has conceived a small temporary home intended to be set up inside unfinished high-rise buildings in tropical cities. The project, called Light House, is featured in the Chicago Architecture Biennial, which opened on October 3 and continues to January 3, 2016. Encompassing 11.5 square metres, the boxy micro dwelling sits on a floor made of plastic-laminated plywood. The home’s frame consists of a polyethylene-coated metal grid, which also serves as shelving inside the structure. Designed on a $1,200 budget, the dwelling was conceived in response to rising living costs in tropical cities such as Bangkok. The house is intended to be erected within unfinished high-rise buildings that are abandoned due to economic crashes or obsolete building systems – buildings that are often occupied by squatters. “The prototype house could lead to a new type of housing with less rigid materiality and energy,” says the firm.

The Les Mées Solar Farm in France | Via
The Les Mées solar farm is located in the rolling hills of La Colle des Mées plateau, in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, in southern France. Covering an area of 200 hectares with a total of 112,000 solar modules, the facility is the biggest in France. This solar project, which was conducted by Siemens Energy on a turnkey basis, generates 100MW of clean energy, enough to power 12,000 typical French households.
This geographical site situated about 800 meters above sea level, is favored with the best conditions for the production of photovoltaic solar energy in France. It enjoys plenty of sunshine receiving horizontal solar irradiation of 1550 kWh, and a high level of air purity that results in energy yield that is 10 to 15% above the average.
