Tybur: Okay, so we betrayed them & kicked their asses even tho they said they'll never fight back, and now they're suddenly fighting back a little bit and it's starting to get bad, so we should unite and annihilate them because we made them too strong that they're fighting us.
Reiner: Was forced to do that to save his friends ans family all the while getting bullied and insulted by everyone while doing it, and when he decides to do a small thing for himself and get selfish for a moment to look badass back home at Marley, he keeps moving forward. He gets his ass kicked. He lives in the island of the devils as they surround him with his only 2 friends after the other one got eaten before his eyes. Then eventually he loses another friend and gets his ass more beaten up. Returns back home and regrets it all, he sees the big picture as well.
This episode showed both Reiner & Willy Tybur talking about redemption. But Tybur's redemption is that he still doesn't wanna die, and just because of that reason, we're gonna keep our unjust ruling and kill them all, while Reiner has had it. He wants his real redemption because of he sees himself every day after wanting one selfish thing in his whole life. To be looked at by his father that abandoned him or to make his family proud, like most of us are raised, trying to achieve a lot to please our parents. In this case of course he killed hundreds, but still.
One demon and ruler named Willy Tybur wanted to continue in his path, but one Reiner Braun is owning up to his shit and willing to die for it without giving a fight, because he knows he deserves it and because he's in a building where a lot of people live in.
Reiner always wanted redemption since he got back from Paradis. After hearing such speech, knowing the true reason of why you were ordered and forced and slaved into doing what you did in Paradis, it broke him even more.
How can a man make it right after it's too late? After he made a mistake too huge to be simply forgiven? How can such a man atone for his sins..?
See.. Reiner Braun is my one of my absolute favorite characters because of many reasons. Now he's just trying to help the new warrior candidates because he's afraid they end up with the same fate. He told Eren to kill him, because he's done, his soul can't take it anymore. But once Eren let that trigger to, Reiner's first instincts was to save Falco Grice, the boy who he doesn't owe anything.
Reiner Braun, the real MVP.
