Imagine having an idol that preaches treating everyone with kindness and then completely trashing his band mates and friends that he cares about so much. Harry loves One Direction and loves all of the boys. Trying to convince yourself and others that Harry hates them or that they are below him would honestly just make him sad and disappointed. Trying to paint Louis as some “homophobic, racist, and sexist” person when he has done absolutely nothing to warrant that is just so wrong on so many levels. If you don’t like an artist, that’s your business but there’s no need to attack the people that do or talk shit about them for no reason.

A brief critical analysis of “Larry Stylinson”

Operating under the assumption that Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles have never been attracted to or in a relationship with each other, why is it that their interaction in public (in the later years) was either limited or tense?

There are two major arguments that can be used to explain this:

1. They naturally drifted apart.

Being in a band was a stressful time for all of them especially given the number of interviews, signings, tours, etc they all had to do. It would not be surprising for all of them to become tense with each other; prolonged exposure to the same people after all is bound to make things difficult. What is surprising though is why they would be allowed to let these tensions reflect in media and the public.

One Direction as a band has been largely successful due to multiple reasons, the most crucial one being their dynamic. The image of teenage boys effortlessly interacting with each other (inside jokes, crackhead energies etc.) was what appealed to their fanbase the most. Taking that into account, it seems counter-productive to let two members of the band appear tense or not on talking terms with each other. Especially considering how it is common knowledge that PR is a very important part of being in the public eye, and the major narrative that fans get to see is crafted to quite an extent.

2. The popularity of their pairing soured their friendship with each other.

Perhaps, the fact that their easy affection for each other was taken out of context and read as “romantic” made things tense between them.

If so, why?

While none of the other members in one direction were ever shipped with each other on such a large scale, they were shipped a fair amount. Every single member has been close and affectionate with his bandmates, which is quite normal considering the amount of time they spent with each other. And this closeness has been the basis for numerous ships. However, no two other bandmates (as far as I know) have been blatantly asked about whether there is any truth to their “ship”.

In interviews, some questions are almost always blacklisted. Which would mean that whenever the two of them have been asked if they are together, the question had most probably been approved. Either they or their management wanted this question to be answered, which seems strange considering they did not do the same for the other “ships”.

Also, shipping is quite a normal thing in any fanbase. And it’s very common for the people being shipped together to have a laugh about it and move on. It’s rare for them to deny it or spend so much time deliberating the topic, since for them it is nothing more than a part and parcel of being famous and having a following.

Take Liam and Niall as an example. Liam has on two occasions joked about “being with Niall” or “going on a date with Niall”. There obviously was nothing to these statements more than humor, which is why they never needed any explanation or excessive deliberation.

The sheer amount of time spent denying “Larry Stylinson” makes no sense since, operating under the assumption, it should be a given that there is no truth to it. It’s just fandom doing something very normal for it - simply shipping two people because they like the idea of them together.

Ultimately, both of these arguments have multiple loopholes and simply aren’t the most simple or natural explanation which can mean two things:

1. There are other arguments that I did not consider.

2. Perhaps, my assumption itself was incorrect.

Either Larry is real or they had some HUGE falling out, bigger than the Zouis falling out.

There is NO way you can convince me that Louis and Harry literally ignore each other (even on social media) when they were once best friends just because of gay rumors. Unless they are extremely homophobic, any straight male friends would just laugh it off and either straight up deny it or play into it more for fun. And at the beginning they DID play into it (tweeting with pet names, calling each other their husband, their moms saying “son-in-law”, Liam saying “you are though” in regards to them dating, Harry saying his first crush was Louis). All of those things can be played off as a joke, IF they had stayed just as close friends as they were. It is also VERY obvious that neither Louis or Harry are in anyway homophobic. The reason Larries started getting more attached and picking apart what they did was because their management made it weird and treated it differently than ANY other mainstream ship. The reason Larries freak out when they interact is because it’s been SO LONG since they have. If they had continued just being themselves and interacting whenever they felt like it, it wouldn’t be a shock when they follow each other or like/comment on a post or even hang out. It would just be like “oh look they hung out” instead of “OMG SOMEONE SAID THAT THEIR FRIEND SAID THAT THEIR CLASSMATE SAW A SHADOW THAT LOOKED LIKE LOUIS” Also, if they were “so uncomfortable” with Larry then why would some of their closest friends talk about it and joke about it. If I knew something made my friend so viscerally uncomfortable to the point that they lost their best friend because of it, I wouldn’t dare mention it. So, in conclusion, unless they had a falling out so big that they can’t even talk about it like they do with Zouis, there is no realistic explanation as to why they stopped being close and why they can’t even like each other’s pictures.

To clarify, I don’t think that harassing their families and friends about Larry is okay. Attacking their girlfriends is absolutely wrong and just plain rude. Trying to ask them to out their friends is ridiculous because at this point, IF they ever decide to come out, it will not be through one of their friends touching their nose in a livestream. It’s also probably annoying for someone to do a live stream and all they see is people talking about their friends’ relationship when they have more important things to share about themselves. There is always a reason why people stay in the closet and no one should be forced out when they are not ready or just can’t yet. Respect them, respect their families and friends, respect their girlfriends, and respect each other.

She gave her starbucks and you would of thought Louis introduced his “future wife” to her, oh right, Bebe said that she thought she was Louis assistant lol, talk about chemestry. To make it better she was asked about ‘Larry’ in another live (she shouldn’t of been asked about that) she said she wasn’t sure about it but they would be cute together it was true and if they are happy that’s all that matters, she also had a ‘Larry’ pin that she showed to everyone, after they did BTY she suddenly had an obsession for Harry to the point she was posting about him on her IG, she also spoke to Dan Wo*ton (The Sun) and he mentioned Louis being in LA because he has a son, she said that she knew he had a son but she didn’t know he lived in LA, (surely Louis would talk about his son and where his child lived) so Dan responded in a defensive manner, “well you are clearly not as close as you think you are” to which Bebe responded with “uh, yeah, i am”

Also, Steve Aoki (did JHO with him) why did he only follow Harry and Louis on twitter? (He follows all of them now) why did he only take an individual photo with Harry and Louis? (All the boys were there) Also, 1st February, Steve did Promo on his own, Where was Louis? Who’s birthday was it that day? And don’t even get me started on the MV and the video producers.

The Chainsmokers, well they met Louis, they took a picture with him and everything, then out of the blue, the chainsmokers started liking Larry posts and commenting smiley faces, one post mentioned about actions speaking louder than words with HL staring at one another and The Chainsmokers commented this 🙌🏻 then Louis followed them on IG, not entirely sure whether it was before or after but...still, then after this The Chainsmokers tweeted “the best kind of relationships is when you can be lovers and friends at the same time” Louis then followed them on twitter after.

Kacey Musgrave who opened up for Harry on tour and also sung the iconic ‘Still The One’ with Harry got the crowed to cheer Harry 3x then shouted ‘Larry’ and she made sure to say it quieter so people could hear her clearer and she made sure to pronounce the ‘L’ clear. When singing ‘still the one’ which many larries say is a larry song the words are ‘We’re still together’ but she said ‘they’re still together’ which made Harry smile.

So, when we get called deluded and how we make them uncomfortable, why does all this happen? If these people who know the boys know this is uncomfortable they wouldn’t do this also the fact that Louis followed the Chainsmokers while they were doing this...i’m sure that if Kacey wasn’t allowed to say ‘Larry’ she wouldn’t do it, she probably got permission of Harry himself. The fact that Louis won’t talk about Eleanor or Freddie who are suppose to be his life says alot to be honest.

Also, Freddieismyqueen is a Larry AF youtube channel (they have been around since before 2016) why does she share revenue with HARRY! He and his team literally paid her for copyright of his songs but sure...we are the deluded ones.

Management

One Direction were signed to the record label of Syco Music (Simon Cowell) who has a partnership with Sony Music, there management were Modest. Modest Management are co-owned by Harry Magee and Richard Griffiths, they manage every aspect of their artists careers, including Publicity.

In 2011, One Direction signed to Modest through a contract, (Syco possibly in 2010 while on the XFactor) the boys had their own identities and labels put on them. Louis was the ‘Funny’ one with the stripes and braces, Harry was the ‘Womaniser’ with the blasers, Zayn was the ‘Mysterious & Quiet’ one with the Letterman jacket (this didn’t help with his race), Liam was the ‘sensible’ one with the checked shirts, and Niall was the ‘Cute & Blonde’ one with the Polo shirts. One Direction were and still are the biggest boyband on the planet, they were the ‘Money Makers’ for the label, they wouldn’t want anything to jepardise it, they were 5 young and attractive teenage “Justin Bieber look-alikes” their aim was young and teenage girls.

Louis was the first to be affected when at the end of 2011, he was flown out to LA to see Simon Cowell, according to both Simon and Louis, he got quite drunk when performing and Simon gaving him a telling off, or as Louis says a “dressing down.” The boys were performing at a Gay Club and Louis was being very flamboyant, they had cake thrown at them and Louis was happy and was dancing with other people in the club with his top off, he might have been drunk but i don’t think that is what he got told off for specifically, he was over 18 after all. After the ‘dressing down’ he was different, he wasn’t as bubbly or happy as before. Louis did say in recent interviews that it was the first time he ever saw ‘Scary Simon’.

Zayn always had issues in the band, that is why he left. Being labelled as the ‘Mysterious’ member gave him racial issues, he would get called a ‘Terrorist’ by many “fans” and would sometimes get upset on stage when reading those signs. He would become very tired when on the road that he would only get 10 minutes of sleep, because of this he would be too tired to eat anything which later caused an eating disorder, he also gained anxiety. Most of his songs were never chosen as it didn’t ‘fit’ the bands image, he was also never allowed to dye his hair apart from the blonde stripe and he couldn’t grow out a beard.

Liam was always seen as the ‘sensible’ member, whenever the boys were playing up or causing trouble such as messing around in hotel rooms and just becoming out of control, the bands management would call up Liam and would tell Liam to sort out the boys eventhough he was still a kid himself and it wasn’t his responsiblility, they wouldn’t let Liam be a kid because he was too busy ‘parenting’ the boys, he got the name ‘daddy direction’ because of it. At one point he wanted to wear a striped shirt, he wasn’t allowed to because it was Louis’ thing, he would also gain an alcohol issue, he developed a bit of anxiety also and would drink before going on stage to control his nerves.

Niall didn’t seem to have big issues with the management (or so he says) he is still to this day with Modest so do what you want with that. Niall was the only member with Blonde hair, he wasn’t allowed to dye it any other colour, which would explain why he went back to Brown after the band. When Niall broke his knee, the management wouldn’t allow Niall to get surgery until after the tour had finished so he would be on stage with a broken knee, the management would occasionally turn of his microphone (this was ‘dubunked’ by Niall himself on twitter).

Harry was always portrayed as the ‘Womaniser’ from the age of 16 (a literal child) while at bootcamp, they would joke about Harry not calling a bunch of girls back and ‘using’ them all it’s in a video, it looked like a joke and Harry was laughing-ish but he looked slightly uncomfortable and he didn’t know what to do, he was always into the “older ladies” and would get asked questions such as: Girl/Celeb crushes, dating rumors, whether he ‘did anything’ with a fan or a ‘Mom Directioner’, he was asked how it felt to be a ‘sex symbol’ and loved by every women and would always be singled out from the others. He supposedly dated 15-19 women in the space of like 8 years, he was in his late teens and early 20’s. He hated it!!! He also had his hair curled to make his loose curls tighter, which is partly why he grew out his hair so he didn’t have to have tight curls and he got older.

Tom Parker was a member from The Wanted, they had a feud with 1D back in 2011/12 till 2013. He got into a twitter spat with Louis, this was a reply to a tweet Louis sent him saying that he will enjoy the press when they see the twitter fight. This reply was a dig at the rumors of him and Harry which is why he says that the press will love it when he ‘comes out’ the Narnia hashtag is from a film where a group of kids enter an imaginary world through a wardrobe also known as a closet. The fight doesn’t involve management but it shows the dig with the gay rumors.

This is a tweet from Natalie Vassileiou who formerly worked at Modest, the tweet is self explainatory, the tweet later got deleted.

Katie Ray worked for Modest’s PR she would occasionally tell the boys to keep up with the tweets or that they are tweeting from the wrong account (their personal instead of band account). Katie Ray was also heavily involved with Elounor in the early days, she would always be there when the pair of them would get papped and she would either be watching or close by.

Danielle Peazer was Liam’s at the time girlfriend and was good friends with Eleanor, she once tweeted and tagged Eleanor basically telling her that she missed her because she was so focused in her Uni revision, the strangest thing about it was that it was Louis that responded to Danielle, now some say she tweeted from Louis’ account, if that was the case i am sure she would mention it was her and not Louis, personally i reckon it was management who tweeted it from Louis’ account by accident. (She tagged Eleanor, not Louis)

In this video taken by fans they walk out of the studio, Harry is crying (he puts on sunglasses to hide it) Louis and Eleanor get stopped (in the first gif) and pictures of them get taken and they are getting directed. In the second Gif, after the pictures Eleanor is seen walking away woth another guy, Eleanor and Louis never said a goodbye she just walked off with him and Louis looked awkward.

In this, Louis and Harry were messing around and were versing eachother in a challage (can’t remember what) Harry won and Louis lost, Louis pretended to to be upset, and Harry literally had to get permission off management to shake his had (he asked to give him a hug prior to this, if im not wrong)

Self explainatory

After One Direction, Liam spoke out and said that he got a tattoo that said ‘we are the quiet ones’ because they were never allowed to say anything in the band, eventhough a few years before he said there is no lies or BS in the band which now kind of proves there is lies and BS in the band. He also spoke out and talked about his role in the band and how they weren’t allowed to do certain things and said “we were kids, man”. When he did a youtube video he said that when filming the Music Video ‘For You’ he wanted to dye his hair blonde but his management wouldn’t let him, so he shaved it and they weren’t too happy about it.

Harry was on SNL talking about the boys and the band, he said that Simon created them in his test tubes, eventhough it came off as a joke it was still clearly a dig and it had some meaning because why else would he say it.

Louis was in answering a question that said “ if you could ask for something knowing the answer was ‘yes’ what would it be?” he was then thinking about it before saying “no i can’t say that” which shows that again there is certain things they are keeping hidden and aren’t allowed to say (he is still with Syco). Louis’ album also has Lines such as:

At an award show Harry Magree and Richard Griffiths were high fiving the boys for their win, Louis walked past and ignored then. That’s how he feels about the heads of modest.

Harry in 2012 when asked what the one thing he would ask for that money can’t buy and he replied with “Freedom” which kind of says it all to be honest.
