Joonmyun isn't really up for any sort of mission in general. So, when he's suddenly saddled with information gathering he's not sure if he's happy or insulted.

Happy because he just came back from a long mission but slightly insulted that he's being given something so menial to do. 

It's those simple run of the mill things. Infiltrate the facility, gather the needed info and then leave with a big bang. 

Sure it's simple but he was off radar for a reason. There have been times when Joonmyuns wondered if this job was worth it but thinking back to his parents and brother, it's definitely worth it.

Joonmyun waits at the garage, re-reading his file as he waits for his partner to show up. He hasn't met her in person but she's a pschometric. 

"Interesting, info gathering will be much easier this way" he mused to himself. He tapped his foot in tune to music coming from his earbuds. His sunglasses and hoodie shading him from the bright light of the garage.

[looks around in his room][his room seemed to be similar to hers even though they’re of different positions in the base][sticks arms out with a plate of chocolate chip and almond & white chocolate chip cookies] I very much enjoyed the plate of cookies you gave me so I figured I should return the favor. And doing so gave me an excuse to meet you again for myself.[grinned, shamelessly winking at him as she did so] [handsome and charming, just her type][technically her type is anyone attractive but for now her new target is this Joonmyun guy] So how long have you been here? I recently joined so I don’t completely know how things are done around here.

Joonmyun waves the new brotherhood member into his room, it was still new mostly due to him almost always staying in his own home in jungsoo  or one of the other towns.

He looks at her features closely for the 1st time, the previous time only a quick glace before he darted away because he new Hyun Ki was awake. She looks like James and his heart gave a sad pand.

He wondered where the Brotherhood Guard was now...

Unknown to him, his face was showing a frown as he drifted away from her, he was only brought back to reality when he heard the end of her question.

He shakes his head a bit, ruffling his hair in embarassment for drifting off. "I'm quite new as well, I only joined a couple of months before you. I used to have a ... friend that showed me the ropes but he's gone now... and yeah...." Joonmyun says trailing off awkwardly and unwilling to talk about James so soon.

"Make yourself at home" Joonmyun says, ushering her to his fairly unused sofa. "Coffee, Tea, juice or plain water?" He asks, being the amazing host he is.

"I don’t dream with my eyes open Joonmyun-ah, I’m not sleep deprived enough for that yet." Calmly stating that fact she tosses it back to the boys. Leaning back she let a small smile dance on her lips. 

"Do you remember the first time you had me play with other children? That was an interesting experience that only validated my tendency to only socialize with people I’ve learned to trust and actually like. Those kids didn’t like me much though I’m not sure you realized that, back then or now." 

"That’s what I was thinking back, I was thinking of that time you slept over after we played with some friends you called over. They gave me the same looks of ostracism that every other person regardless of age gave me when they realized that i wasn’t at the intelligence level that was expected of my age, that I was far more advanced and likely more advanced than them." Eating her own sandwich various images of people’s faced played across her thoughts, the same judging and xenophobic stares.

He bumps shoulder with her as he still munches on his sandwich. "You were far to unsociable for my liking but you were nice and I liked nice people. See, even now you're using big words that you shouldn't be using. Not oday. I don't want to have to get a dictionary everytime you say something I don't understand!" Joonmyun teased. 

He looks on and sees the same group of boys waving at them to join them for a game. Joonmyun wouldn't mind playing but he wasn't sure about Seohyun.

Personally, days like these were for him to go out and socialise with complete strangers and maybe make new friends and connections.

He looks back to his friend and the strangers waving them over. There are girls there, Seohyun wouldn't he pushed aside if they went to join the other young adults.

"They're calling for us, you wanna join them? Maybe this time you can actually make some friends" Joonmyun said with a smile. He knew not to be pushy, he didn't want to make his friend uncomfortable, after all it had alway been him as the more socialble one ever since they were young.

"I just… know. I can hear them." And he doesn’t bother telling the other how is it that he can do that since it might sound absurd. He is pretty sure that no one would believe him if he told them the truth which is kind of understandable as well because not even him believes sometimes; not even he knows why is it that he can do what he does. But then he stops and stares at Joonmyun so he can frown at the words he used. ‘Special’. No, he’s not. 

"I’m not special at all, kid, I’m weird." The words come out before he can think about them and wonder if the other is smart enough to figure that he was partially admitting to having ‘super powers’ as the younger called it. He had no time to dwell on those thoughts though because he is pulled. 

He looks at the shirt that Joonmyun tugs at and he feels like freeing himself from his grip - he has no time to play hide-and-seek (but then again, he has nothing better to do, aside from escaping the hospital that is). Nevermind the ideas going through his mind; he watches the kid run and dive behind the nurse’s station, wondering what he’s doing, but following anyway (he’s so dead if anyone talks about that). “Hey, are you filming an action movie? What’s with all the ninja moves?”

Looking up at the nurse, he could already imagine her alerting everyone about his little escape, but she looked like she’d be in as an accomplice and for the first time he wondered if having the little kid around was actually a good cover for him. He grinned at her, trying to look devious rather than guilty and she seemed to bite the bait so he took a deep breath before directing his attention to the other boy. 

"You’re so tiny…" And by that he means both in the literal and age-wise sense of the word. To him, Joonmyun was the equivalent to a newborn - because in Woobin’s mind, he was way too grown up already - and although he might want to discuss the fact that the boy seems obsessed with the being special thing, he really can’t. He feels himself be squished and (oh god!) hugged and that’s such an unfamiliar feeling that he wants to dig a hole and shove the younger inside it. 

"Why are you hugging me… I got it, you’re special. What’s so special about you anyway?"

"You don't wike hugs?" Joonmyun asks, feeling slightly hurt but he brushes it aside. His parents have constantly told him that not all people liked touching like him. S he doesn't blame the older boy.

"I'm not tiny! I can make myself big and bigger, just like you!" Joonmyun protests and he thinks this is a good time as any to show of his trait.

Joonmyun closes his eyes and imagines himself as the boy in front of him. His powers aren't as refined as they should be yet but it does the trick for now. 

When he opens his eyes right now, he's a mirror image of Woobin, maybe with some distortion here and there but his illusion is there. "We're not weird, we're special!!"Joonmyun insists, his voice still his but coming out of Woobins body.

"my mommy and daddy said that I have powers so that makes me specwail and she also swaid to ignore anyone that calls me weird. They call me weird becuase they're jealous and don't understand mwe" Joonmyun says importantly, spewing off the speech his mom always gives him when some one calls him a bad name or when he feels sad.

"You don't like being special?" Joonmyun asks, losing his concentration and then his illusion is off and he's back to being Joonmyun. He tilts his head sideways, scrunching his face into concentration as he tries to figure out the boy opposite him sitting under the nurses station.

James still had his mouth full when Joonmyun was done with his food and ready to move on to the next stop. As much as he would’ve liked to reply right away he had his mouth stuffed so that his cheeks were puffed up like a hamster’s. 

Signalling for the Ace to give him a second, James chewed through the food as quickly as he could with his mouth full before forcing himself to swallow the food. It hurt a bit since he hadn’t properly chewed it so he clenched his eyes shut as it went down. 

"Getting somethin’ to drink would be great" he replied when finally could and gave the other a sheepish grin. "But honestly I could eat all night, so~ maybe ya should decide. Wanna get on a ride or something before eating somethin’ else?"

"A drink it is!" Joonmyun said, moving over to some sort of dessert stand a little way down. The was ice-cones, ice-cream, and all sorts of drinks with jelly's in it. 

Joonmyuns eyes locked in on a colourful snow cone, basically rainbow coloured. He turned his puppy eyes onto James. "Can we have that?" Joonmyun asked, as he pointed to the snow cone puppy eyes like a child.

It would serve as a drink as well as a dessert and after that maybe they would be able to sit on rides or play some games after that.

By now the rice he had prepared before had had properly cooked, Joonmyun reaches for some of his kimchi and sets it on a plate in front of James. “You look like you could use some food. Eat. You and Eunsook can crash at my place while you figure things out okay? If you don’t feel like sleeping with me or anything the guest room is always open and yeah……” Joonmyun trailed off.

He and James weren’t in any sort of romantic relationship and he personally wanted more but he wasn’t sure what James wanted.. Joonmyun let out a heavy sigh and walked back into his room, intent on changing his clothes.

James couldn’t help but groan again at the Ace’s words, time letting his face fall against the table. “Grandma Liu said I had a snowball’s chance in hell in making it through this.” When he feels the other’s familiar weight against him he sits up just in time to be kissed. It’s comforting and it feels a lot like the promise to work together so he immediately goes to return it but it’s quick and it leaves him craving another one. 

He begins to lift his hands to pull Joonmyun to him for that kiss but the other is out of his reach, placing food in front of him. And again James feels that sort of comfort that’s difficult to come by. The kind the keeps you up at night for no other reason than because it feels warm and you want nothing more than to enjoy it. 

"What kind of question is that? Of course i wanna be with ya~" He asks as the other sighs and walks out of the room leaving James with the feeling that he did something wrong. He much rather feel the comfort again so he follows the other to his room and pulls him into his arms so that Joonmyun’s back is against his chest. 

"What’s wrong?" he asks as he rests his chin on his head "I thought we were doing this together?"

Joonmyun shurgs unable to put his thought into words. On one hand he wants to openly tell James how he feels but on the other he's scared of the rejection and he'd rather be friends with benefits then nothing at all.

He slowly eases himself out of the taller man's hold and moves to pull off his shirt. It's still sticky from his sweat and Hyun Ki's tears. He takes a deep breath after he pulls it off choosing to take a leap of faith.

The shirt is held close to his chest but he doesn't dare look at James when he says it. "I don't know what we are anymore... when we started I thought it would be something with no feeling attached but now.... I want more and I don't know if you're feeling the same as me or not...... I feel so confused all the time" 

Joonmyun continues on leaving James no chance to interrupt. "And now with Hyun Ki, I don't know if I have the emotional capacity to juggle my feelings for you and Hyun Ki's dependence on me...."

[looks at each door she passes until she arrives in front of the one she was searching for] [with a plate of home-baked cookies in her hands she knocks] Hello? Joonmyeon-shii? [knocks once more] [she wants to return the favor] [and she wants another excuse to see that handsome face]

[opens the door wondering who could it  be] [eyes widening surprisingly at the woman standing at his door way and blushes slightly at her appearance] Krystal-shii? [he smiles when he sees the cookies she's holding] Come in. [gestures for her to enter while sidestepping slightly so she has space]

It’s kind of instinctive the way that Woobin actually shuts up when the other boy tells him to. He has no clue why he does so and he also has no idea why are they hiding in the first place. Well, Woobin was already doing it before he found what seemed to be the hospital’s playground. He didn’t even know they had one. 

He looks at the boy who squints his eyes, frowns and then furrows his eyebrows, not knowing what he’s supposed to be doing until he realizes he’s trying to make sure there is no one outside. Woobin can help with that. “There’s no one around. The floor is almost empty. There are about five nurses and the one I saw last is heading to the opposite wing.” He says so as if he’s totally sure - which he is - but for someone who can’t hear things the way he does, it might sound a bit pretentious to be speaking like that. Not that he is worried about what the other thinks anyway. 

He kept quiet as the introduction went long and the boy kept talking and talking and talking. So many words just to say his name…  No, he was not about to call him Joonmyunnie. Woobin was ten (and a half) and his father told him he was past the age to act like a child (even if he was one). Joonmyunnie sounds weird and childish and something he’d call his 5 year old brother - if he had one. 

He wants to call him Joonmyun or just ‘chatterbox’, but he keeps in mind to call the boy Joonie just so he can possibly shut up about it and then move on. Sometimes Woobin wished he knew how to deal with people better; he’s pretty sure he’s scaring the boy already even if he doesn’t seem too uncomfortable with him there. “I’m Woobin but my friends call me — ” And then he stops. In his head, there’s the childish name his real mother always calls him and ‘Binnie’ almost comes out, but he doesn’t want anyone to know about that. Only his mother is entitled to take his name and make it sound that lovely. “— Woobin” He clears his throat then “But call me what you want.” He is sure that Joonmyeon will anyway.

"Uh.. I don’t know how old are you. I’m ten. You look younger…" Maybe it was because he was shorter. Woobin wasn’t all that tall yet, but he was already taller than most of the kids in his class. He backs away a little when he’s assaulted by all those questions and he has no idea if he should say yes or no, but he decides on the first one. "I guess you can." He has no idea about what he’s doing anyway and he might as well be making a friend, but he has no idea - he has no experience in doing that kind of thing anyway.

"How do you know??" Joonmyun asked his face a mask of wonder as the stared openly at the boy much taller in front of him. He poked his out slightly and scanned his surroundings. Lo behold everyone was exactly where the other boy had described.

"Do you have super powers too? Woobin hyung?" Joonmyun said with a voice full of awe. "Are you special like...." Joonmyun said stopping half way and completely stilling. He had heard voices much too familiar, namely the voices of the kids tat were supposed to find him during their games.

He grabbed the hand of the older boy and tugged at him, "Hyung, we need to hide at a new place." Joonmyun raced down the hallway and dived behind the nurses station and crawling under the counter. 

He put his finger to his lips and made a shushing action at the young nurse stationed there, he earned a conspiratorial smile from the young nurse on duty as she returned his gesture.

"I'm 7 years owld" Joonmyun said proudly,"You are my woob'in hyung and you are alswo special wike mwee!" Joonmyun said happily giving an impromptu hug to the other boy.

After having set the knife down next to his plate and admired his own work before grabbing his chopsticks, convincing himself that food would made the nausea fade away put a smile on the terrorist’s face. The simple fact that Suho went to the trouble of getting his odd food choices slowly made up for being in Jungsoo.

Nodding his head Tox wondered how Suho hadn’t managed to connect the dots when it came to why he ate toxic and poisonous foods instead of just regular food. Grabbing his chopsticks Tox stuffed a piece of Fugu in his mouth, “Mhm, I absorb every bit of ‘em. Poison ingestion regeneration”.  The terrorist couldn’t help but point his chopsticks at the tender bruise forming on his face before continuing, “Helps with the bruises and cuts I get and it affects the toxins and poisons I produce depending on what I eat.”.

Truthfully he simply wanted to push Suho’s buttons in offering him Fugu but there was only so much Tox could do without actually causing the other any harm. “Yea, yea, yea. Non-immune and all that jazz, just thought I would be generous and offer you some anyway”.

Kicking the other’s chair Tox rolled his eyes before drinking more of his bleach, “Sure a real buddy ol’ pal you are, dragging me to Jungsoo when I fucking hate the ocean”. Watching Sunho as he put more food in to his mouth Tox did the same as a grin and a chuckle threatened to escape him while shooting the ace a glance, “Well considering such an amazing pal you are, you’re paying right?”.

Joonmyun sent Minki a glare from where he was slurping his soup. "Did you have to remind me?" Joonmyun muttered, setting his bowl down and continued to devour his food, letting out a satisfied burp when he was done.

"You done?" He questioned, waving the waitress over for the bill. He sent he a small flirty  and put a couple of bills on the table before standing up.

"Come on, wasteman. What do you want to do. It a beautiful day today. There's the sun, sand and sea right in front of us" He smiled happily, running his hand through his hair enjoying the salty sea breeze.

he’s gonna throw up.

he can already feel the acid burning in his sternum. the taste of swears and anger is sour in his mouth and his hands are sweaty, shaky; a cold shiver runs through him as he stares at himself walking down the street like there’s nothing wrong, like it owns him.

minseok could swear that he stays out of trouble to the moon and back, but it wouldn’t be true. and it wouldn’t have anything to do with the foreboding feeling crawling up his spine. he doesn’t have time for an analyzation of the situation, the crowd pushes him to the side, he loses sight of that face and he nearly climbs over people to make a path.

it could be a dream. it could be his imagination, he thinks as he weaves through a family of four and a stroller and finds nothing but nameless and unfamiliar faces. all the signs point to normal, but he doesn’t unclench his jaw because this is the trippiest shit he has ever been a part of.

the word identity theft filters through his head, a news story gram was listening to the other and he almost laughs because this is a little too literal. minseok half-turns towards the other side of the street and spots a jaw that sees everyday in the mirror. he runs forward, hormones on attack mode and it takes everything he has not to unsheathe projectiles from beneath his skin.

he comes up to the side of the other man and pauses, in shock, but there’s no running from this. not when they’re using his fucking face. he shoves him toward the shadows of the building and he crowds in close, so that the other man can get a good long look.

"who the fuck are you and what the hell do you think you’re doing?"

Joonmyun stared at the face that looked far too familiar to be comfortable. Of course it would be familiar, he was wearing that very face right now. He didn't choose this face on purpose. Heck it had just been a simple mix of features he randomly put together for a simple bank job.

"Well, hello there. Mighty fine meeting you" Joonmyun smiled cockily, more or less taunting the man in front of him.

"It is nice meeting you and all dear doppleganger but I must be running along. I have some work to do and you're wasting my time right now" He said pleasantly nodding his head and trying to sidestep the other man.

Mission Impossible

"Oh, how the tables have turned," Kyungsoo drawled, gazing with mock pity at the bodyguards standing in fear before him. "You know, people always say you have to have a plan to infiltrate these kinds of things but I think it’s spontaneity that gets you places in the end. That guy? You know, my partner in crime? This would’ve taken a fuckton longer if I’d done it his way but, ah, here we are, glass pressed up against your weak little jugulars. I’m sure he’s been got by now."

Shooting a glance down the hall where Joonmyun had gone after their target, Kyungsoo met the other’s sarcastic smile with a self-complacent grin of his own. In his moment of distraction, one of the bodyguards attempted to escape — only to be met with a sharp pain where the glass shard was pressed against his skin. “Take your time, darling,” he called after Joonmyun, shooting a contented glance at the bodyguard being subject to his torture, “I’ll be right here waiting for you~”

Now, he suspected, Joonmyun would have caught up to the slow moving idiots and completed the abduction. But of course you couldn’t abduct someone and then streak across the streets with them violently clasped in your arms — you had to have a getaway, which was stationed conveniently near the emergency exit they were so heading towards — but Kyungsoo wasn’t a fan of sacrificing his own fun for the sake of some silly plan.

Chuckling quietly to himself, Kyungsoo pulled a pen from the pocket of one of the waiters at the event, who was cowering fearfully under a table, and approached the bodyguard who had attempted to rebel. “Hold still,” he murmured, pressing it to the man’s forehead. After drawing a beautifully immature pair of balls and a penis dangling between the man’s eyes, he laughed and glanced down the hallway once more. “Alright!” he called, although Joonmyun was surely out of hearing range by now. “I’m coming darling!”

Joonmyun moved quickly, he hadn't seen Kyungsoo yet and he didn't know if he could rely on the other man. It would be a one man show until he saw either hide or hair of the other Ace. 

It was simple to take out the guards around him. It took him barely a minute between each kill. It was actually funny when he saw Jongjae's face as his bodyguards dropped like flys. 

He perched himself on the hood of the car, and waved his illusion away before tilting his head and staring at the man much bigger than himself. He noticed the hand of his target moving to the gun he concealed in his pants.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" Joonmyun said pleasantly, inclining his head towards what Jonjae was doing. He and Jongjae watched one another, Jongjae i apprehension and Joonmyun with curiosity. This man was interesting. Joonmyun wanted to know what Jongjae would do to try and get himself out.

It happened a split second later. Jongjae idiotically tried to shoot him. The bullet whizzed right through him. It was amusing to see the look on Jongjaes face, Joomyun let the vision of him on the hood vanish.

Jongjae came to the realization one second too late. The right hook Joonmyun swung at him knocked him out like a light. "Now that wasn't a nice thing to do"  Joonmyun said with his signature smile on his face refering to how Jongjae had tried to shoot him. 

He sat crosslegged next to the unconcious body, leaning against the car and closed his eyes waiting for his "partner" to arrive. "Nice of you to come" Joonmyun said when he heard the soft patter of arriving food steps

Myungsoo fell silent as the man who helped him waved him away and moved off to clean up his wound. Meanwhile, he wandered around the house, and when there was nothing left to see, he took a seat, perching himself on the very edge of the chair. Despite being told to make himself at home, he couldn’t quite find it in him to relax.

When he came back, Myungsoo immediately stood up. He silently noted the change of clothes and for some reason he felt a little bit more guilty. Hesitantly, he shook Joonmyun’s hand. “I’m Myungsoo… And thank you, for before.” He released the other’s hand to give him a full ninety-degree bow, eyes fixed on the floor because Myungsoo really couldn’t look him in the eye. “And I’m really sorry for getting you into that.”

Call it a pricked conscience. Myungsoo was extremely grateful that Joonmyun had decided to help, otherwise who knew what condition he would be in now — bleeding to death on the street, most likely — but the feeling of guilt of having someone getting hurt on his expense was slightly stronger than gratitude.

"No problem" Joonmyun said smiling slightly, he winced slightly when his skin tugged none to gently at the wound. He moved gently to the kitchen all too familiar that the best course of action to heal  would be to take it slow for the next few hours especially.

"You want a drink? Or some food? I have some leftovers if you want.. I hope you don't mind but I was on the way for some food when i ... stumbled on you" Joonmyun said grabbing a plate of pasta and popping it into the microwave. 

He leaned against his countertop, eyeing the male acrosss from him. "Do you want to tell me waht hapened?"
