The other day I heard someone say that being humble as a woman is dangerous and it struck me as true. Humility when it’s taken too far, doesn’t protect you. It only serves the people who want to take advantage of you

Your appearance, your empathy, your creativity, your kindness… these are all forms of currency. They hold value in the world. Even if you don’t recognize your own power, others will. And if you don’t learn how to protect and leverage it, there will always be someone ready to use it for themselves

Shrinking yourself, dismissing your gifts, or pretending they don’t matter is not humility. That’s leaving the door wide open for people who don’t have your best interest at heart
