Why are non black POC always expecting us to speak for them? Chris Rock is a black man so obviously he’ll concentrate on black issues especially when black people deal with anti-blackness and erasure from ALL races including NBPOC. There are many other POC attending the Oscars: Priyanka Chopra, Lee Byung-hun, Dev Patel, Sophia Vergera, why is no-one asking them to take the risk of bringing up diversity?
NBPOC should get out and protest too instead of expecting black people to do all the labour for them. NBPOC ask for solidarity when they want to use movements created by black people for their issues, (like BLM & PLM) but ask them to examine and combat anti blackness in their communities and they’ll turn on you and accuse you of being “divisive”.
Black people got the brunt of the criticism for always “moaning” about inclusion and diversity, we are the ones that are constantly accused of “playing the race card” by brining up this issues, where are our fellow POC when this happens? Where is the solidarity then? Ya’ll don’t want to know when shit is going down but when you see us getting results for our hard work and labour you start complaining about us not including you and only fighting for our own issues. What’s stopping you from creating your own movements?
