deeply funny to me that basically every dair fic that revolves around them getting back together after their respective marriages/blair and chuck have henry is some variation of "chuck is such a neglectful husband and dad 😡" and it's chuck "I'd give up everything for u" "when we're together ur all I think about" bass, the man who loves blair to the extent that literally nothing and nobody else (apart from henry) matters as long as he has her, the man who would do anything to make her happy even if it hurts him, who is absolutely and utterly devoted to her, and who learnt that work could never be more important than their relationship... like all she'd have to do is say "I miss u 🥺" and he's dropping everything and working from home for a week like let's be serious now!!

i think my scent headcanon post kind of counts, so i'll add on to it a little more here.
chuck to me smells like spice, whiskey or cognac, expensive leathers and balmain sculpting wax, with a hint of tobacco. i headcanon that bart bass was a cigar smoker, and maybe every so often chuck smokes one of his father's cigars in quiet moments to himself.
it also makes me kind of sad that (even if realistic and reasonable) they take limos around the city instead of drive, but i like to think when chuck takes blair on vacations and trips to europe or otherwise, he drives a bentley. he drives with one hand on the wheel, and the other on blair's thigh, or with his hand in hers while he strokes her knuckles with his thumb.

speaking of blair, you cannot tell me chuck wasn't in love with blair for years at least before the pilot episode. this was just the vibe i was picking up when they started introducing us to chuck and blair as a romantic pairing. i'm not sure if this counts as a headcanon, but i truly and wholeheartedly believe chuck has loved blair as long as he's had the capability to, he just didn't quite know what to do with it.
he's also genuinely intoxicated with the way him and blair would do anything for one another. he grew up neglected and felt genuinely uncared for in his childhood, so getting to marry a woman who would move mountains to make him happy, and him getting to reciprocate that freely is like heroin to him.
and now here's some quick-fire headcanons to end things off. chuck only wears cartier watches, and he thinks owning a rolex is childish and gaudy, even for him. he also has nightmares and occasional sleep paralysis, something blair helps him with, but other than that he refuses to tell anybody else because he's embarrassed. finally, chuck tried learning how to ice skate knowing how much blair loves it, but fell on his ass so hard he just about gave up. blair ended up teaching him herself. <3

SPOILERS !!! OK SO, I’m not finished with season 2 of Gossip girl yet (I’m like episode 8?) but wanted to share my opinions on each character so far. Keep in mind, since I’m not finished my opinions might change and I’ll make an update when I’m ACTUALLY finished.
Blair Waldorf: Throughout season 1, for some reason I had a firey burning hatred for her and I’m not sure why, but as I got to the end and through season 2 I started to understand her more and watch her character development. I think she was very much self-centered but once you started to get more reasonings for that it made sense. Even though her jealousy and the way she treated Serena for things (NOT including fucking her boyfriend. That was insane) was arguably fucked up and selfish, but when Serena is your bestfriend and literally the ONLY person you have it is lowkey crazy to have her pick men over you given how Blair never really chose Chuck over Serena.
Serena Van Der Woodsen: Okay unpopular opinion but I LOVED Serena so much first season (again, other than her fucking Blair’s boyfriend). I liked her style and overall personality, but she did start to piss me off as we got further through the show. She always put guys over her bestfriend and that never really sat right with me ngl 😭. Something that also always made me mad was her pretending she was on the same level of modesty as Blair. Blair lost her dad to a gay man like at a fairly young age and her mom didn’t really date many people since then, and Blair was a virgin for a WHILE were as Serena’s mom had a gazillion husbands and Serena was out her fucking other people’s man. I did really love Serena’s style though 👅.
Nate Archibald: literally such mixed opinions. I like him on occasion and hate him on others. Something about him just pisses me off and I don’t know why. He was an ASSHOLE to Blair lowkey and continued trying to fix things and lie to her while actively flirting with Serena. I did really like the Vanessa plot line to an extent, but idk Vanessa pmo in general. So far I’ve really enjoyed the Jenny and Nate plot line but I also don’t think the age gap is that big of a deal, and shouldn’t have been exaggerated into making Nate “creepy for that” given how Nate was deadass getting booty fucked by middle aged women like a few months before…
Dan Humphrey: oh what an interesting soul. I literally LOVED him first season until the end and season 2 he is so fucking annoying I can’t lie. Like yes he’s hot but how much can that get you away with lmao. He has never ONCE fully acknowledged he’s in the wrong, and puts on this whole “we’re so poor” act even after Rufus brought up to Jenny how he still pays over THOUSANDS of dollars to get them into the school they go to and all they do is complain. And Dan treats Serena like she’s too jealous for being worried about Georgina and Vanessa (like they both didn’t flirt with him) when Dan deadass stalked Serena for years? 😭 he needs to die
Chuck Bass: high key fine shyt 😏 he does piss me off a LOT sometimes but i absolutely love the character development between Blair and Chuck once they started loving each other and how they started subconsciously becoming better people because of it. I do agree his actions in the start of the show were.. questionable.. but far from SA. (Not including pilot.. that was insane) There has to be the acknowledgment that this was in the 2000’s and it wasn’t as frowned upon and was more normalized. I also liked discovering more about chucks parents and childhood like throughout the later episodes.
Jenny Humphrey: okay, I love her character SO much when she acts fucking normal but when she doesn’t I hate her. I absolutely love the plot of her fashion and starting her own line and that whole journey, but it URKS me how she puts on this whole “I’m so poor act” and uses that as an excuse to literally commit legitimate crimes 😭 but overall I think it is a good example of like the high school pressure but I still hate it.
Vanessa Abrams: I hate her. legit HATE her. She’s gorgeous don’t get me wrong, but she pisses me off SO FUCKING BAD. She flirted with Dan continuously knowing he had a girlfriend, was trying to mess with everyone and then played victim when they did it back like she didn’t lowk egg them on, and puts on the whole “haha I’m so cool and not crazy and rich I’m just… different 😏” Vanessa shut ur mouth omg. die.
Lily Van Der Woodsen: I LOVE HER SHES SO CUTE AND SWEET and I love her whole character. I love her and Rufus so much and I’m so mad they aren’t together but whatever 😒 I think I loved watching her character development as a mother, along with her helping Rufus be a good parent to Jenny. Whole thing is beautiful. I love her.
Rufus Humphrey: lowkey… so fine. He’s a really amazing dad and character overall and is one of the only reasonable people in this whole show for some reason. I think the way he reacts to Dan trying to destroy chucks whole life in his writing and Jenny fucking quitting school and running away WAS lowkey based and he was trying his best. It was lowkey high key crazy how he tried to snitch to the cops on Jenny out of rage but like also real.
